Italian Places I Love (ITALY | ITALIE) “The Jury was delighted by this project. Members were impressed by the scale of public involvement in the census. Through a carefully planned media campaign to raise awareness of the Italian cultural heritage and the ease of engagement in the census a wide public has become involved. This is demonstrated by the 464,649 votes for 14,000 places in the last round. Also, in 2012, the census became international as people from across the world could contribute. The collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo means that funding for restoration work of selected cultural heritage is achieved and the project has inspired schemes elsewhere in Europe.”

Grâce à une campagne médiatique soigneusement planifiée, sensibilisant au patrimoine culturel italien et à la simplicité de la participation, un large public s'est impliqué, d’où les 464.649 votes pour 14.000 lieux lors du dernier tour. Aussi, en 2012, le recensement s’est étendu à l’international, des personnes du monde entier ont pu participer. La collaboration avec Intesa Sanpaolo signifie que le financement de travaux de restauration de lieux patrimoniaux fonctionne et que le projet en a inspiré d’autres, semblables, ailleurs en Europe. »
I Luoghi del Cuore (Italian places I love) is a national census which, every two years from 2003, Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI) has promoted with its partner Intesa Sanpaolo Bank. Over a six month period, people are asked, both online - through the dedicated web site - and on printed cards, to vote for their favourite place in Italy, that they wish to see preserved and protected for future generations. FAI then enumerates the entries received and approaches local and national institutions to make them aware of the public’s profound interest in Italy’s treasures, so that they may provide the resources necessary to preserve these sites. FAI also selects certain places to work on directly: thanks to the census, some of these places will be restored, in co-operation with the relevant local institution and the contribution of the bank partner of the project. The aim is to effectively involve the whole population - regardless of age and nationality - by fostering awareness of Italian art, historical and natural heritage.
I Luoghi del Cuore (Les lieux italiens que j’aime) est un recensement national soutenu tous les deux ans depuis 2003 par le Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI) et son partenaire, la banque Intesa Sanpaolo. Sur une période de six mois, les gens sont invités, à la fois en ligne - via le site web dédié et sur des cartes imprimées, à voter pour leur lieu préféré en Italie, qu’ils souhaitent voir préservé et protégé pour les générations futures. FAI énumère ensuite les inscriptions reçues et se rapproche des institutions locales et nationales pour leur faire prendre conscience de l’intérêt profond du public pour ces trésors de l’Italie, afin que celles-ci fournissent les ressources nécessaires pour préserver ces sites. FAI sélectionne également certains lieux sur lesquels il s’implique directement. Grâce au recensement, certains de ces sites seront restaurés, en coopération avec l’institution locale compétente et la contribution de la banque partenaire du projet. L’objectif est d’impliquer efficacement l’ensemble de la population - indépendamment de l’âge et de la nationalité - en favorisant la reconnaissance du patrimoine historique et naturel de l’art italien.
