EP200 FERMENTED SOY PROTEIN FOR YOUNG ANIMALS

EP200 is a highly digestible complementary feed contributing to healthy growth for your pigs.
The gut of young animals have limited digestive capabilities. In order to support the development of a fully functional gut and immune system, the animals are fed a refined feed designed to support their needs during growth.
Refined soy makes up a substantial part of your feed costs. That’s why your soy at all times must deliver high efficiency relative to the price. At European Protein, we continue to test EP200 up against other types of soy, to make sure you get high value for money when choosing EP200. Independent trials on pigs show that you save up to 0.7€ per pig1 by feeding EP200.
pig
EP200 consists of soybean meal fermented with lactic acid bacteria. Fermentation makes protein, minerals, vitamins and energy more accesible and easier for the pig to utilize. In addition, the supplements low ABC-4 value contributes to a high protein digestion and a low pH in the stomach of the pig.
Young animals lack the capability of producing sufficient amounts of hydrochloric acid to lower the pH and activate enzymes which break down proteins efficiently. The ABC-4 value indicates how much hydrochloric acid the pigs need to produce to reduce the pH of the feed to 4.
Complete feed should have an ABC-4 value of no more than 250-300 mEq/kilo. Should you choose soy with a high ABC-4, you will need to acidify the feed to bring the ABC-4 back down. EP200 contains 7 per cent lactic acid.
Dry fermentation uses less water and energy than liquid fermentation. As a result, you save up to 61 per cent of your soy’s CO2eemissions when replacing your existing soy protein with EP2004
Soybean meal contains antinutrients that negatively influence growth, and cause digestive disorders. We call them antinutritional factors or ANF’s. Fermentation reduces the ANF’s, making soybean meal suitable for even the youngest and most vulnerable animals.
