In Hammer,aharmoniouscommunitysharesanaltruisticlifestyle inspiredbythehippieera.Theyrun,play,singandenjoylifetogether. Butslowly,thecommunityprogressestowardsthemodernagewith itsubiquitoussurveillance.Thegroup’sbehaviourbecomes increasinglyegotisticalandindividualistic.Whenwereturnforthe secondact,wefindourselvesinadifferentplace.Nowwemeeta groupofself-consciouspeopleinlonelybubbles.Eventually,unable tocopewithallthefalsepretences,theyareforcedtorelinquish theirimage-consciousfacadesandreturntoanaltruisticexistence.

Inthemiddleofthelargestcontiguosrainforestareaintheworld standsanoperahouse:theTeatroAmazonas.Theneo-classical buildinginthecentreoftheAmazonmetropolisManaushasroom formorethan700peopleandwasthesecondlargestoperahouse afterLaScalainMilanwhenititwasinauguratedin1896.Itwas intendedtodelighttherubberbaronsinthenewlyemerging cosmopolitancity,the“ParisoftheTropics”,withmusic.
