APPRECIATING THE PAST CELEBRATING THE PRESENT EMBRACING THE FUTURE
Commemorative
I am honored to have served as Principal of Eunos Primary School from 2017 to 2022. The past six years have been filled with joy and pride as we witnessed Eunosians exemplifying our school vision of being guided by values while growing to be happy learners, confident communicators and critical thinkers. It warms my heart to see Eunosians starting the day with big smiles on their faces, ready to embark on a new day of learning through the myriad of classroom activities and signature level programmes including the Programme for Active Learning in P1 & P2, P3 Cultural Appreciation Programme, P4 Zoo Camp, P5 Outdoors Adventure Camp and the P6 Post-PSLE Programme. In addition to the signature programmes, our Eunosians would have fond memories of the vibrant learning spaces deliberately created annually starting with the Active Cove in 2017, Floor Games and Classroom Libraries, Sensory Gardens, Maths Learning Staircase and finally, the Tinkering Room in 2021. Our Learning for Life Programme “Development in the Arts and through the Arts” has also grown from strength to strength, with students showcasing their talents during lunchtime concerts or exploring new art forms such as digital art.
Our dedicated and talented staff share the firm belief that every Eunosian wants to learn and can learn. They role model life-long learning in their generous sharing and active participation in professional development. Their unstinting efforts to provide holistic learning experiences have led to initiatives such as the introduction of new leadership roles, studentled presentations during staff meetings and student-initiated activities such as fundraising performances. Our non-teaching staff have played an equally important role in the provision of key administrative support, ensuring the well-being and interests of our Eunosians in all that we do. Thank you everyone, for the wonderful partnership and your invaluable contributions over the years.
For the past two years, our Eunosian family has remained united and resilient in the face of the challenges posed by the pandemic. Eunosians would be very familiar with the acronym “MAGIC”, which reminds us to develop the good habits of practising Mindfulness, keeping Active, showing Gratitude, cultivating an Interest and staying Connected with others. Among the five, we have always emphasised the importance of Gratitude, and I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the past Principals– Mrs Salmah Yunos, Mr Soh Cheng Chua, Mr Koh Huai Pang, Mrs Ang Chin Du and Mrs Jennifer Choy. They have been instrumental in building the strong foundations upon which our school stands and for establishing the strong culture of care . I would also like to thank our ever-supportive partners including our School Advisory Committee, our Supportive Parents in Community Engagement, our community partners and the parents of past and present Eunosians, for their support since the school started in 1984.
As we mark our last chapter with the merger in end 2022, I am sure our Eunosians will cherish the fond memories of their schooling days and continue to treasure the wonderful relationships formed. While it is inevitable to feel a tinge of sadness, it is my wish that we look forward to the possibilities ahead and remember a proverb I have often shared –“When the winds of change blow, some people build walls while others choose to build windmills.” Let us choose to harness the power of the winds of change and may our school motto “Endeavour promotes Success” always be alive in our hearts and guide us to a bright future ahead!
I am humbled to be a part of the Eunos family since November 2015, working alongside the committed staff in the final journey of its 39 years and striving to nurture every student to be “a happy learner, confident communicator and critical thinker”.
Role-modelling the school values and dispositions of lifelong learners, our teachers work relentlessly to build strong fundamentals in our students and inculcate in all of them a growth mindset. Over the years, our schoolbased student care centre and our strong partnership with parents have complemented our efforts in providing a holistic education to our students. It warms my heart to see the successful transformation of our students who have managed to overcome personal challenges in pursuit of their goals in life.
As our students and staff move on to the next chapter of their lives, I urge all to uphold our Eunosian values and continue to challenge themselves to scale greater heights. As Germany Kent said, “Never underestimate the power you have to take your life in a new direction.” I wish every Eunosian success in their future endeavours!
I am thankful and blessed to have been a part of the Eunosian family for the past 20 years since I joined the school in March 2002. Eunos has always been a special place for me. For me, the Eunosian is always at the centre of everything we do. Our school values play an important part in our lives and we remind our students and colleagues about it very often. Change is always imminent but it doesn’t mean change is always bad. We should look at it from the perspective that when there is change, there are opportunities for us to seize, learn and keep on improving. While it may be challenging at first, we should be positive about the change, be RESILIENT and strive for EXCELLENCE!
I wish everyone moving to the merged school all the best! We will still be part of a bigger family, with new people to meet and new friends and colleagues to make. Extend the Eunos culture of CARE to them. It is what makes us distinctly who we are. I will always remember this special family and miss you all dearly. But, who knows, Singapore is so small, we may bump into each other on the streets, so it is not goodbye but see you later!
(2022)
What does Eunos Primary School bring to mind? For me, it will be the happy faces, the lively chatter along the corridors, the occasional squeal from the canteen or school field and the warm greetings from one Eunosian to another. That’s what Eunos Primary is all about – a safe haven for learning and growth, and family to all who come through its gates.
At Eunos Primary School, children find comfort in who they are and continue to grow and learn with the support of caring teachers. Their teachers role model lifelong learning through participation in open classrooms in order to provide a meaningful and relevant schooling experience. Eunosians learn not only about science and mathematics but also values and life. They learn to be bigger than their challenges, stand up for what they believe in and bounce back from setbacks. This spirit of resilience and culture of care percolate the school’s daily routines and will be a hallmark wherever the staff and students go as they pass it on to others.
I have always been inspired by the strong culture of care shown by the School Leaders and staff of Eunos Primary. They have been intentional in their efforts to cultivate a safe and inclusive culture in the school by role-modelling ethical and values-based practices, and ensuring that every Eunosian feels a strong sense of connectedness to the school. The staff must be credited for their tireless efforts to engage students in joyful learning within a vibrant environment that imbues them with hope for the future. In the face of adversity and challenges, Eunosians are inspired to believe in themselves and have high aspirations, to pursue their strengths and interests, to do their best and realise their fullest potential by having a growth mindset. They learn to put effort into learning and improving while showing respect, empathy and care for one another regardless of their social and ethnic backgrounds.
Thank you to the staff of Eunos Primary for always going the extra mile and showing what it truly means to lead, care and inspire.
In 2004, the School Management Team penned the lyrics of the school song to celebrate its re-opening after three years of PRIME upgrading. Beginning with the lines “High above the skyline, a red torch shines”, the school song evokes hope and dreams for the future, inspiring Eunosians to soar far and wide while staying true to the enduring values that unite us as one. Now, poised on the cusp of change, we invite you to take a journey with us through the lyrics of our school song as we appreciate the past, celebrate the present and embrace the future.
My journey in Eunos Primary, Has been amazing and enriching. From days of transparencies to computers for typing, Face-to-face teaching, and now Home-Based Learning.
Throughout the years, we have kept that flame, Despite outward differences, it’s still the same.
A burning passion to reach out and make a difference Helping children learn and gain confidence.
Ample opportunities to pursue my teaching drive. In an environment full of camaraderie, With friends all around to share my day-to-day.
These memories – oh what a precious gift, Of this beloved school that seeks to uplift. How proud I am to be part of her history, To witness stories of triumph and victory. People often say the only constant thing is change, But my love for Eunos will always remain.
The School Crest consists of a burning red torch with a book.
The torch represents knowledge while the book represents the key to knowledge and learning. Together, they remind us that education is an ongoing lifelong process.
White symbolises purity and honesty. Blue symbolises perseverance.
Every child can learn and achieve in a caring environment.
Guided by values, every Eunosian a Happy Learner, a Confident Communicator and a Critical Thinker.
To nurture every child in a caring and vibrant environment to achieve his/her personal best and contribute actively to society.
Care, Unity, Respect, Resilience, Integrity, Excellence
"EPS is special to me as it has taught me to be a more confident and self-reliant person. It is a school that promotes happiness, joy and acceptance through the learning process by giving equal and ample opportunities to all to showcase their talents and skills. Without Eunos, I would not be who I am today."
"To me, Eunos means deep bonds and great friendships. I remember the P5 Adventure Camp fondly. It is where I learnt to overcome many challenges with the support of my friends and teachers. What I miss most about Eunos is the sense of comfort and home, the bonds of friendship and the closeness we developed over the years . It’s really the little things that have helped me in my everyday life, and I will appreciate my experience in Eunos forever."
— Chong Jia Hao, Head Prefect 2021 Building friendships through our CCAs Scaling new heights at P5 camp"
To me, being a Eunosian is about making new friends and learning new things every single day. Eunos Primary is special to me because I have made so many friends here. I have also met so many kind teachers who have inculcated good values in us in this caring and supportive environment."
— Cayden Sin Jun Cheng, 5 Integrity"Eunos is a place of many firsts for me, a critical building block and the starting line of my life's journey. It offered opportunities and warmth in an environment where every teacher and student helped one another grow. One of my best memories of Eunos was the post-PSLE PEPSE programme – I had so much fun and made so many lasting friendships and memories during that time. Thank you, Eunos, for all the amazing experiences you’ve given me! "
" I love Eunos because I have many good friends here. I enjoy playing with my friends, Zulaikha, Hana, Sofia, Maylis and Pei Yao. I like learning in groups during PE and PAL. We enjoy going to the hall to play because it is a big huge space for all of us to run around and have fun. I also like to eat and chat with my friends during recess time."
" Eunos Primary is a second home to me. It is where friendships are forged, where we learn, grow and blossom into who we are today. They say home is where the heart is. and Eunos Primary is the foundation of love, warmth and many happy memories for me. "

"We are like a big, closely-knit family, always looking out for one another. I started my career as a Eunosian and will stay a Eunosian even after the curtains are drawn.
Thank you, Eunos Primary School, for the thirty-nine wonderful and fruitful years!"
"Eunos Primary holds great value in my heart. It is a place full of happy memories. I love the joyful atmosphere and loud ecstatic laughter in the canteen. I will always cherish the memories I have of learning with my classmates and emerging stronger from my mistakes. To all Eunosians, let’s remember our school motto and continue to work hard wherever we go. Remember, it is not about how many times you fall but how many times you get up after the fall. Be hardworking! Endeavour Promotes Success!"
"When I first joined the school in 2020, I was struck by how sincere and earnest the teachers here are in helping our students develop holistically. And while everyone is professional when it comes to work, we also know how to let our hair down and have fun together! I’ve learnt many life lessons from my colleagues here, and these interactions are what I will remember the most when we go our separate ways."
"Whenever I think about “Eunos”, I'm awed and humbled by the spirit of selfless giving that undergirds all that we do. Many of my guiding principles have been shaped by the special people here who have guided me through the years. Thank you, Eunos Primary and best wishes to all."
Mr Amarjit Singh, Subject Head (Discipline)"I will always remember the time spent with my classmates and teachers in my classroom. I feel happy when I get to learn new things with my classmates, and I enjoy my lessons very much."
"The warmth and the camaraderie among the colleagues that has existed all these years is something I will always cherish. Even when new staff members join the school, this culture of care and sense of belonging has permeated and remained strong. I’ll always treasure this opportunity I’ve had to be part of the Eunosian family."
"I love my school as it is so big and has a lot of different places we can use to learn and play such as the library and Active Cove. I will always remember my teachers and friends I have made in Eunos Primary School."
"
It doesn’t matter where they come from, but it matters to us where they go.” This mantra encapsulates the why behind what we do in Eunos . Our holistic learning approach encourages our students to be inquisitive, confident and collaborative learners. Through our signature programmes such as Babble & Speak, MT Fortnight and Maths & Science Week, they develop interdisciplinary skills, hone their communication skills and are given many opportunities to showcase their learning. We are also very big on facilitating learning experiences that go beyond the classroom, to equip our Eunosians with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to be future-ready."
"Our teachers here always give their best to help us learn well and develop good values and character. They spend a lot of time and effort to design lessons that are fun, engaging and meaningful. Everyone, including the nonteaching staff, is always very caring and helpful towards us. They make this school the best environment for our learning! "
— Ali Arham Syed, 4 Respect Performing for Mother Tongue Fortnight Grai Han, our Babble & Speak Champ"
"CCAs are a staple in every Eunosian’s life and we conduct them during curriculum hours to encourage maximum participation for our P3 to P6 students. Through their participation in a CCA of their choice, students build precious bonds of friendship, develop specific knowledge and skills, develop character, learn values and deepen their sense of belonging to the school and community."
We strongly believe that engagement in the arts is an integral part of holistic education. We leverage the arts to support our students’ development of dispositions, cognitive skills, values and character. Eunosians are encouraged to discover their interests, pursue their diverse talents and strive for their personal best through their participation in broad-based and tiered programmes such as our mass Recess Art Programme and Artventures talent development programme "

Ms Sharon Cheong, Head of Department (Aesthetics) Interclass Games during Eunos Olympiad Training of the mind and body through Wushu"Helming Eunos Primary for seven years has gifted me with beautiful memories. I fondly remember how after PRIME, the whole staff worked enthusiastically and tirelessly together to transform the school into an exciting experiential place of learning where our students would look forward to coming to school each day."
Mrs Ang Chin Du, Principal (2002-2009)"To the staff and students of Eunos Primary School, while it may seem as though everything around you is changing, know that no challenge is insurmountable with perseverance and unity. Witnessing the growth and transformation of the school over the years has been most fulfilling and I look forward to what the future holds for every single Eunosian. Wishing everyone the best of luck and good health!"
"It has been a real privilege and honour to serve in SPICE, the parent support group in Eunos. I have built many bonds of friendship with the staff, students and other parents as we worked hand in hand together. The birth of the SPICE logo, the recipe book that we produced, the creation of the SPICE Garden – these are just a few of my many wonderful memories of Eunos Primary School!"
(2015-2017)"I still keep the old white and blue uniforms that I no longer fit in, all my Prefect badges and the notes that my teachers and friends have written to me in my time capsule. Who can forget the fun we had in planning for the Leadership Training Camp and our epic Treasure Hunt all around the school? How I wish I can relive these memories over and over again. To all the EPS teachers and students, thank you so much for the wonderful times. All the best!"
Mohammed Nazzer Hamzah, SPICE Chairman Duong Bang Chau, Head Prefect (2017)"I can still clearly remember our first musical production, “Colours in Flight”, staged at Lasalle College of the Arts. Our staff came together to pen the script, to train the students and even performed alongside them. It was an extremely challenging task but the whole school community came together with complete dedication. When the cast took their final bow on stage, many eyes were wet with tears of joy and pride. Thanks for the memories, my Eunos family!"
Mrs Jennifer Choy, Principal (2010-2016)"After receiving The Straits Times Generation Grit Award 2018, I’m grateful to have the opportunity to pass on the spirit of resilience to fellow Eunosians. Persevering through the challenges faced - this spirit will carry them far in life for Endeavour Promotes Success."
Zi Heng, Class of 2003, Patron of the Resilience Award"One of my fondest memories is working on the landscaping. Did you know that all the plants you see in Eunos are specially planted in their exact spots as that is where they get the optimal distribution of sunlight and water? To the staff and students of Eunos, I wish you all the best in your next journey. Be like the bougainvillaea plant that is extremely hardy, evergreen and flowers throughout the year. In the hot season, that is when it is in full bloom."
"What I fondly remember about Eunos is the warm and caring spirit – from the small moments such as playing games with friends during recess, to the more momentous events such as Eunos Olympiad and Euni-Voices. It is my hope that the same Eunos spirit I have been fortunate enough to experience will continue to grace future batches of students and help them blossom into Happy Learners, Confident Communicators and Critical Thinkers wherever they go. All the best and thank you, Eunos!"
"Eunos is a big part of me and my family. It is the first school that I was posted to and for 29 long years, it has been my second home. My children and I consider it a privilege to be Eunosians. We have experienced a wealth of love, care and support from the people here and received countless opportunities to develop ourselves and be the best that we can be. Some people say it is not easy being in the same school as your children, but it is definitely the right choice for us! Even though we are sad that we will be merging with another school, we are confident that the Eunosian spirit of care and togetherness will live on in everyone’s hearts."

"Eunos primary is where I started as a beginning teacher. Now, it is the place where I get to see both my girls learn, grow and glow. It will also be where my firstborn completes her primary education. We will definitely miss Eunos Primary and cherish all the precious memories we have made here."

"Eunos Primary is very near and dear to my heart because it is where I have spent my entire career up till this point in. The caring culture and dedicated staff gave me the confidence to enroll three of my kids here, and as a parent, I deeply appreciate the opportunity to watch my children grow and interact with others during school activities and celebrations. Something else that makes Eunos special to me is the powerful sense of community that we have here – everyone, staff, parents and students, looks out and cares for one another. I hope that this ‘kampung spirit’ continues to live on in the hearts of every Eunosian no matter where they go."

"Eunos is like my second home, where my second family is. It is literally the place where I became a mother. Being a first-time mother was not easy, but I had the support of the SLs and my friends in school. I cannot express what Eunos means to me, except to say that it is an integral part of me. When I get home each day, the conversations would invariably include all the happenings in Eunos. Ashley knew all about Eunos even before she joined the school. Witnessing how she has grown from a baby to her being in Primary 2 now, I really wish Ashley could have graduated from Eunos and Ashton, my younger child, would have had the chance to be part of Eunos." - Mrs
"My best memory of Eunos is spending time in the garden! When I was younger, I used to go to school with my mother on Saturdays to look after the garden. I really enjoyed helping her in the garden. It was the place that I was the most familiar with when I entered the school in 2021. But I will really miss the whole entire school - the library where there are so many books, the garden, my friends, my teachers, all the lessons and my classroom. These are all part of Eunos and all very important to me!"
