WHAT IS IT? ACADAS is an European project that aims to analyse and exchange good practices in prevention, intervention and monitoring of people with disabilities at particular risk of early school leaving (ESL) by defining what are the main dimensions in which educational systems in the EU fail, to address their needs.

THE PARTNERS

KICK-OFF MEETING In November 2019, the Aspaber Coordinator hosted the kick-off meeting of the ACADAS project at the Carballo (Spain) place, thus starting the activities.

Coordinator of the proposal is the Spanish partner ASPABER and as partner from Turkey the University "Konya Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesi", from Greece the "Center For Education And Rehabilitation For The Blind", from Italy the EuLabTEC Association, from Croatia the NGO "Pro Mente Croatia”and from Ireland the “St.Ita's Special School”.

THE BOARD AIMS Analysing the impact of ESL among people with disabilities by type of d i s a b i l i t y, s o c i o d e m o g r a p h i c variables and other factors related to the individual, social and school contexts, using as a basis the "theoretical model of forces" underlying ESL developed by Squires & Dyson (2017).

KICK-OFF MEETING The kick-off meeting of the ACADAS project, the alliance for the inclusive recognition of educational merits, was organized in the city of Carballo (Spain) on 14 a n d 15 No v e m b e r 2 019 . T h e p r o j e c t involves Partners active in the education sector and early school leaving with particular reference to children with disabilities.

During the kick-off meeting, in addition to the project management aspects, it was time to discuss the cur rent state of early school leaving in the partner countries, in order to

identify and track together the best activities to achieve the project objectives. The two days were also an opportunity to get to know the headquarters of the ASPABER Lead Partner, coming into contact with the various educational and social rehabilitation services carried out within the Carballo community.

In conclusion, a presentation and analysis conference on ELS in Europe was an inspiration for the next steps.

The project is promoted within the framework of ERASMUS+ 2014-2020 Programme (Key Action 2 – Exchange of good practices in the field of School Education); its total grant is ₏ 75,950.00.

Period of implementation September 1st, 2019 with an end date of August 31st, 2021.

Sharing and discussing ideas, practices and measures being applied to prevent ESL among model partner countries (with a low rate of ESL) and countries with higher levels of school dropout.

ACTIVITIES Surveys will be launched within the two years of projects, identification of risk monitoring systems in order to identify students with disabilities at particular risk of ESL, identification of school performance evaluation systems for students with disabilities, 1 program of intensive training, development of a road map for the standardization of educational merits.

BENEFICIARIES Final users, i.e. students with functional diversity - School professionals and members of associations of people with functional diversity involved in the development of the project

THE PARTNERS The coordinator of the proposal is the Spanish partner ASPABER, an entity that since 1976 has been dedicated to people with intellectual or motor disabilities. From 2017 he also deals with education with the opening of two educational units for children between 9 and 17 years of age. Turkish partner, the University of Konya - “Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesi", since 1962 has the objective of creating professional people in the field of education and who can generate critical thinking and apply methods of practical application, defending and integ rating diversity. From Greece, the "Center For Education And Rehabilitation For The Blind" deals with offering services to people with disabilities of all ages. The main objective of this public institution is the complete educational rehabilitation of the person with disabilities, promoting social integration and psychological support. From Italy, the

EuLabTEC Association is responsible for c r e a t i n g a n d o rga n i z i n g e ve n t s , b o t h educational and non-educational, in order to disseminate active European citizenship, through physical and digital spaces, where to encourage the exchange of good practices.

From Croatia the NGO "Pro Mente Croatia".

Finally, from Ireland, the “St.Ita's Special School” has been serving the community in the educational landscape for more than 50 years. The school is mixed between boys and girls aged 5 to 18 with special learning needs.

Given the great experience in education in the specific sector of children with disabilities, St. Ita's Special School will train the various operators within the project in order to find together a joint model of contrasting early school leaving and certification of educational merits .
