The latest information on how Point Foundation empowers change through education, mentorship, community service, and leadership development for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer students of merit.

APPLICATIONS OVERVIEW

As the late January deadline approached for submitting the Point Foundation Scholarship application, the numbers kept climbing; 2,000 applications, then 2,100 and finally 2,215 completed applications were submitted! From there, 556 applicants advanced to become semifinalists. Thousands of hours have gone into reading applications, phone interviews and preparing for the in-person interviews with finalists at the end of April. The announcement of the 2016 Point Scholar class will be in June.

More than 400 people joined us at the iconic New York Public Library for our annual Point Honors gala in New York, April 11. The evening included the presentation of the Point Legend Award to Olympic Gold Medalist Greg Louganis, who had just learned that his iconic image will appear on a box in the Wheaties Legends Series. Fellow Olympian Gus Kenworthy introduced Louganis and presented the award to him.
