POWER UP WITH PANCAKES! AT THE HEALTH & WELLNESS EXPO AND THE FINISH LINE

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS

WELCOME

Welcome to the Eugene Marathon Weekend!

I'm honored and excited to welcome everyone - runners, volunteers, families, and supporters - to the 18th Eugene Marathon Weekend. This year marks the largest Eugene Marathon Weekend ever: we're proud to welcome runners from all 50 states and 29 countries, in addition to the thousands of Eugene/Springfield locals who have chosen to be part of this iconic event.

With so many participants from so many different places, each of you will be surrounded by people with diverse stories, varied goals, and unique journeys that have led you here. Some are chasing personal records, others completing their first race, and many simply celebrating the joy of participation in our beautiful city. This diversity of experience is part of what makes our event so special, but I’m confident that we all have one thing in common: we're more likely to thrive when we're pursuing our goals together. The energy you’ll feel at the start line will carry you forward, and the camaraderie you find along the course will make every mile more meaningful.

Speaking of camaraderie, when you’re out on the course please take a moment to recognize the scores of police officers, EMTs, doctors & nurses, along with the hundreds of volunteers who make this event possible. Without the partnership of community leaders in Eugene and Springfield, without the early morning set-up by Public Works, or without the enthusiastic participation of our local vendors, partners and sponsors, this event would not be possible. The cooperation and coordination of so many stakeholders in our community underscored the value of this event, and the broad recognition of what it means to our community and to the individuals who participate.

If you’re reading this, then you’re part of the Eugene Marathon and that’s something we can all be proud of. The Eugene Marathon is an economic driver in our community, a catalyst for fundraising, and a source of enormous civic pride. Thank you for being part of this!

START CORRALS

1

GET READY TO START 1

Head to the Start line on 15th Ave. and locate your Corral. Find the sign that corresponds with your age group: Fire Quackers (ages 10+); Quackers (ages 7-9); Waddlers (ages 6 and under, must run with adult chaperone). Direct your child to the appropriate Corral. All children running with a parent should be in the Waddlers Corral, regardless of age. There will be a staggered start with each corral starting a few minutes apart. After the start, head to the finish line through the North gates at Hayward Field.

2

CROSSING THE FINISH LINE

As participants cross the finish line, they will continue walking forward on the track to follow the path on the track toward the tunnel. They will be escorted by volunteers off of the track and through the tunnel to Finisher Field, where they will wait at one of the four color-coded towers that correspond with the color of their bib. Along the way, all participants will receive their finisher medals, water bottle and race bag. Kids who run with an adult will also exit through the tunnel onto Finisher Field.

3

PARENT REUNION AREA

Parents can watch their kids cross the finish line and receive their finisher medal on the track. As kids go through the tunnel, parents can make their way up to the concourse, then go down the staircase to Finisher Field. The staircase is located just behind Sections 120-121. Locate the specific color tower that matches your child's bib to reunify with your child. Parents will not be able to get onto the track from the stands. If you cannot locate your child, go to the information desk located on the concourse.

For any event-related questions, lost & found or if you are separated from your child, go to the Information Desk.

100 YEARS OF SUPPORT

2025 Medals celebrate 100 years since the construction of the Historic Hayward Field East Grandstand

For the fifth consecutive year, the Eugene Marathon is excited to announce that all marathon and half marathon finishers will receive a medal containing a piece of salvaged wood from the timbers that once held up Historic Hayward Field’s original east grandstand.

This year is especially significant because 2025 marks exactly 100 years since the historic east grandstand was built. The grandstand stood from 1925 to 2018 and witnessed countless record-setting moments and legendary athletic achievements at events like the U.S. Olympic Trials, the Prefontaine Classic and the NCAA Championships.

With the reclaimed wood piece serving as the centerpiece, the 2025 Eugene Marathon medals tell a story that connects this year’s finishers to the legends who’ve crossed the Hayward Field finish line in the past, along with the community that supported them on their journeys. And for the third straight year, the Eugene Marathon partnered locally with Springfield High School’s woodshop to mill down and laser cut each of the thousands of wood pieces that will be used in this year’s medals.

Using the east grandstand as the primary inspiration and theme, the outer profile of the medal mirrors that of the historic structure’s distinctive roof line. The roof line faces the center of the medal, where a six-lane track circles the wood to commemorate the original six-lane cinder track at Hayward Field in 1925.

The wood piece rests inside the track and surrounds the Eugene Marathon logo — representing history in the most tangible way possible: in a medal that those who finish these races will be able to hold in their hands and wear proudly around their necks.

A few smaller details include the marathon or half marathon course route outlined on the back of the medal along with the words: “The Wood in this medal supported the East Grandstand at Historic Hayward Field from 1925 to 2018.” And finally the ribbon holder, which, if you look at it from the side, is the iconic silhouette of the east grandstand with rows of seats to represent the supportive and significant role that each runner’s community has played in their marathon journey.

The remaining 2025 finisher medals — including the Eugene 5K and Kid’s Duck Dash presented by OCCU and the Krusteaz DoubleStack Challenge — keep with the same theme of focusing on the community that surrounds and supports each participant in their own journey to the finish line.
