As part of its 32nd founding anniversary, Enverga Candelaria hosted a Medical Mission organized by the school’s Health and Wellness Center, EUC Alumni of 1995, headed by Ma’am Grace N. Aloner, and the NSTP Department (Community Extension Services), at the WLE Building, March 6.
The mission’s beneficiaries were the citizens of Candelaria, mainly those residing in Barangay Malabanban Norte, who were provided free and easily accessible
medical services, as an act of magnanimity towards the community.
The people of Candelaria lined up by the assessment area in the WLE building to assess their vitals. They were then led to the school clinic, which had been temporarily converted into a laboratory exam room, and provided services such as blood tests, ECGs and a urinalysis. More intensive examinations, such as x-rays, were given in a mobile laboratory, which was provided with the collaboration with Our Lady
of Good Remedy Clinical Laboratory.
Those seeking medical advice were then ushered into a consultation area, where they were tended to by the professional doctors in attendance, Dr. Jose Jaycee C. Tabernilla and Dr. Queenie M. Mateo. Additionally, the people who sought consultation were also offered prescriptions in the dispense area, which was supplied with general medications such as paracetamol and vitamins.
During the whole medical mission, the honorable EUC nursing students, clinical staff and ALS volunteers continuously and selflessly assisted those in need with gentle and guiding support.
The mission concluded as the last of patients slowly filtered out. This mission was held in order to present the gratitude and compassion EUC holds towards the community, and has also reinforced EUC as the community’s frontier for inspiring unity and charity.
