I work with a 0.5mm hook and fine thread to make wearable floral and nostalgic pieces, from Yorkshire Roses and forget-me-nots, to rainbows and granny squares. The jewellery I make is tiny, with many stitches in each piece, then finished with sterling silver findings. If you could have a superpower, what would it be? Teleportation, to save time and money getting about and delivering orders.
Why did you start your Etsy shop? I simply loved making things, and wanted create a shop that was easily accessible on a global scale. I also I grew up helping out my mother out at craft fairs every weekend in the 90s and early 00s. I was curious to see if I could do the same thing but with a snap of a camera phone and a click of a button, instead of carting my wares from town to town. It took time, but turns out I can! Are you a cat person or dog person? Both, I don't care what it is as long as it's soft and it lets me pet it.

I still think it's amazing being able to take the raw material, add some fire and it become a wearable piece of magic! I also like that you can do something quite simple like a plain band ring or something super extravagant with gems. You start every day by‌ Cup of tea in bed and a bit of time sketching. I use sustainable locally sourced greenwood to carve individual pieces using only hand tools. The initial form is axed out, then various knives are used to carve the final design. This traditional way of working allows me to have closer contact with the natural material. What’s your favourite medium to work with? I use a wide range of timbers. All my wood is sourced locally and everything is carved from 'green' wood. It's a tough choice to pick a favourite as they all have their qualities, but I'd go for either birch or beech. Both carve so well whilst fresh and take a really good finish. They can also have some lovely colour variation which can really enhance the finished piece. Are you a cat person or dog person? I'm definitely a cat person. We got 2 kittens last December and they are so much fun.
