Summer Program: Information and Registration

Welcome to a summer of growing, learning, and adventure at Eton School's Summer Program! Our carefully crafted Montessori, Summer, and Clubhouse camps are designed to keep students excited, curious, and active throughout the summer break from 17 June through 9 August.

We are offering a variety of academically and recreationally enriching summer camps. Our Montessori and Summer Bridge camps extend the principles and benefits of Montessori education into the summer months, aiding in the transition and building on acquired skills while learning new ones. Other camps, such as science and technology camps, art camps, sports camps, and more, are led by experienced instructors who are passionate and dedicated to providing an engaging, enriching experience for campers.

For eight weeks, our weekly-themed Clubhouse Camp creates a safe and stimulating environment, making learning enjoyable and memorable experience for the campers.

Eton School believes in providing a summer experience that combines education and fun and provides opportunities for growth and enjoyment throughout the summer break.

Registration

There are three registration start dates dependent on the student's enrollment status fat Eton School.

Monday, 26 February 2024 at 7:00 a.m.

Students re-enrolled at Eton School for the 2024–2025 School Year.

Monday, 4 March 2024 at 7:00 a.m.

New students enrolled at Eton School for the 2024–2025 School Year.

Monday, 15 April 2024 at 7:00 a.m.

Students enrolled at Eton School for the 2023–2024 School Year but are not re-enrolled for the 2024–2025 School Year.

All registrations are available on the Portal and accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with payment required at the time of registration to secure placement.

Registration Closings:

7:00 a.m. Thursday before the week of Montessori, Bridge and Summer Camps.

9:00 a.m. Monday of the week of Summer Clubhouse Camp and Extended Day Camp

If a camp is full, a waitlist is created. Any vacancy is filled in the order of names on the waitlist.

In case of camp cancellation, notification is sent, and a refund is issued automatically.

Requests for refunds outside of a cancellation will only be considered until 1 May 2024.

Campers attending half-day camps, who need after-camp care, must register for Summer Clubhouse Camp (half-day). If care is still needed after 3:00 p.m., registration for Summer Extended Day Camp is required.

Campers attending full-day camps who need after-camp care must register for Summer Extended Day Camp.

Camper Must-Haves:

Personal Water Bottle: Please label with your child's name. Lunch (if attending for full day) placed in an insulated lunch box with ice pack, eating utensils, and napkins.

For the Summer Program, students new to Eton School must submit immunization records. For any student who has health concerns such as allergies, asthma or require medication during camp, additional health forms are required to be completed and submitted to Eton School prior to the first day of attendance. These forms are located on the New Family Portal under Summer Forms (login required).

Pre-elementary (Grades P3, P4, and K) Montessori Camp

Embark on a joyful adventure at our Pre-Elementary Summer Montessori camp! Dive into the wonders of Ocean Animals through engaging activities. Campers explore and learn Practical Life, Math, Language, Sensorial, and Culture through various hands-on Montessori materials. Our exciting sessions occur indoors and outdoors, ensuring a fun learning experience. Have your child join us for a summer filled with joy, learning, and exploration.

Lower Elementary Montessori Camp: Grades 1, 2, and 3

Campers join our certified Montessori teacher, Lin Farmer, in Room 6 for a week of Montessori lessons and work cycle, with themed activities and outdoor play. During the week, campers participate in both group and individualized lessons. The week provides a valuable orientation to our Lower Elementary program.

Summer Bridge Camp (Grade 1)

Summer Montessori Bridge is a summer experience designed for students who are transitioning from Kindergarten to First Grade in the Fall of 2024. This small group camp fosters a supportive environment of targeted academic support for students who may benefit from an extra boost. This camp provides an empowering stepping stone, ensuring a seamless transition to the next phase of a Montessori education.

Summer Bridge Camp (Grades 4–5)

This Summer Bridge Camp is designed for students transitioning from a first through third grade Montessori classroom to a fourth- and fifth-grade classroom. Lower Elementary teacher (grades 1-3), Ms. Kim, and an Upper Elementary teacher (grades 4–5), Ms. Weise, are partnering together to create an environment that eases the transition to the next grade level by reviewing lessons and strengthening skills, and giving students an extra boost of confidence as they journey on to the next level.

Campers learn and practice Karate and Kung Fu for a unique and positive summer experience! Each action-packed day includes physical and mental activities, games, and drills to build body and mind! The professional instructors know how to challenge and motivate all ages, while building self-confidence and discipline. This camp is for all skill levels, even those who have never practiced Karate.

Foundational Engineering: Machines and Contraption Combined with Pokemania

Presented by: Snapology

Snapology is offering two of its most popular camps as one fun all day camp. Mornings bring foundational Engineering, Machines and Contraptions for the child that loves to tinker and create new things or likes to take things apart to see what's inside. Campers have the tools to understand mechanical movement and the importance of simple machines. They will see moving parts up close as they follow instructions to build various machines and contraptions, then use the models to develop new design ideas, test physics concepts, and even play games with their partners! Whether they are the creative-constructive type or prefer the inquisitive-deductive way of learning, this program is sure to spark their engineering interests! Then in the afternoon, in Pokemania, campers build and explore the world of Pokemon as they create their gyms, battles, and even their very own generation of Pokemon. They will learn about real-world science as they gain an understanding of the habitats of Pokemon. Campers have a blast becoming the best Pokemon trainer ever!

Hand Sewing

Your child can discover the magic of hand sewing with Little Hands Creations' summer camp and embark on a creative journey, from simple stitches to intricate embroidery. Young campers will delve into a world of stitching, crafting, and creating with their own two hands. From mastering the basic whip stitch to confidently fastening buttons and adding beautiful embroidery, this class offers a diverse range of techniques. The experienced instructors guide the campers through each step, ensuring they learn valuable sewing skills, develop fine motor abilities, and enhance finger dexterity. Most importantly, this camp is designed to ignite their imagination and give their creative muscles a fun and invigorating workout!

Yarn Arts

Presented by: Little Hands Creations

Get your child hooked on crocheting, knitting, weaving, and all things yarn with Yarn Arts! Beginners start by learning a handful of basic stitches and progress into techniques for making different shapes. Projects include garlands, cozy wearables, stuffed animals, granny squares, and more! Campers are encouraged to get creative and design or customize their projects using the skills they've learned. Little Hands Creations' program caters to all skill levels, so whether a camper is a beginner or an experienced yarn enthusiast, there's something for everyone. The camp starts gently with finger knitting, explores crochet hooks, and plays with the user-friendly Knifty Knitter Looms. Throughout the camp, campers dive into a variety of exciting projects, from charming bookmarks to cuddly stuffed animals to trendy headbands and practical pouches. There's no shortage of fun and useful creations to bring to life. But that's not all! We encourage campers to let their imaginations run wild. Campers gain newfound skills to the test by designing and customizing unique projects. The possibilities are endless, whether it's a one-of-a-kind scarf, a whimsical toy, or a stylish accessory. Register your child for a summer full of creativity, camaraderie, and, of course, yarn with memories that will last a lifetime!

For two weeks, campers become scientists and engineers and explore science's mysteries. They will have hands-on experience with science experiments, building, tinkering, and discovering. They will get outside with nature and uncover, collect, and investigate science. Campers will create STEM-based projects, and the art projects will be integrated with geometry and science.

This camp offers an opportunity for your child to learn some new board games and/or card games every day. There will be familiar classics on hand as well for those who might not be interested in the current games being taught. There will be plenty of games available with differing levels of complexity for many different interests and skill sets.

Kids Drama Camp

This three-week half-day drama camp is where campers learn about acting, movement, set building, and more. Drama builds confidence, self-expression, creativity, sequencing and story elements, vocabulary building, narrative understanding, and oral language. The camp will culminate in a performance of “The Sky is Falling” at the end of the third week. Campers have fun acting out the different roles in this performance and learn important lessons and skills in the process. Their performance takes place on the last day of camp.

Campers take a two-week voyage through the world of art, exploring its many facets, discovering color theory and visual art, and learning art history and famous artists. They will use their creativity and self-expression using a variety of mediums, techniques, and textures. Art projects include drawing, painting, ceramics, textiles, weaving, mosaic, tie-dye, modeling clay, yarn art, and more!

Kidokinetics is a nationally acclaimed sports enrichment and physical education program for children. Their unique and exciting program introduces children to over 20 sports and activities in a fun, non-competitive environment. Kidokinetics lessons are designed to incorporate age-appropriate motor skills into fun games and activities that children love. Tailored to suit the needs of different developmental stages, Kidokintenics incorporates multiple elements of fitness with a focus on developing gross motor skills, crossing the midline, hand-eye coordination, and dominant side awareness. The Kidokinetics program enhances physical fitness and self-confidence and fosters a sense of teamwork.

Machine Sewing

Presented by: Little Hands Creations (LHC)

Welcome to LHC’s Machine Sewing camp! This camp caters to all skill levels, whether the camper is brand new to machine sewing or already has experience. All campers have a complete safety overview of essential machine safety protocols. New sewers complete LHC’s beginner sewing curriculum, while the more experienced sewers can build off their existing skills, taking their sewing abilities to the next level. This camp is student-led, and they advance at their own pace with autonomy over the projects they create. Projects include backpacks, phone cases, clothing, accessories, bags, games, stuffed animals, and more! This camp is LHC’s most popular and is where creativity knows no bounds! For all new sewers, the first day of camp is mandatory; please contact Chelsea Cook if your child cannot attend.

Small Wonders and Magical Houses

Presented by: Epic Art

The excitement to create runs deep in this small world camp as campers, aka Mini Makers, playfully design, build up, and decorate a functional 3D fairy home and all its content with natural and faux materials. Each Mini Maker will be supplied with a pre-hand-built cardboard constructed house that sits on a natural wood base. They will work with various colors, discuss design plans and wishes, explore colorful mark-making tools, and add forest floors, roofs, ladders, design mushroom details, adding wood, moss, and rock elements, and so much more! There is no stopping a sweet Mini Maker when it comes to making a home for their secret friends so don't be surprised to see other small treasures and mini twinkle lights (battery included) go home on the last day of camp! Please have campers bring clothes and shoes for getting messy and/or stained. On the last day of camp, Friday, 19 July at 11:30 am, everyone is invited to our Epic Family Celebration with a walkabout exhibition and treats!

Creature Creators Combined with Science of Superpowers

Presented by: Snapology

Snapology packs their summer camps with engineering or robotics program in the morning, followed with a Lego® themed program in the afternoon. Creature Creators (Morning): In Snapology's Creature Creator Robotics class campers create their own animal inspired robotic models. They learn about gear ratio, sensors, simple machines, and programming as they build insects, dolphins, gorillas, and much more. Campers are sure to have a wild time as they build, learn, and play. Science of Superpowers (Afternoon): In Snapology's Science of Superpowers program, campers learn about the science behind their favorite heroes' powers. They learn about gravity, aerodynamics, forces, motion, and much more as they learn about flight, super villain fights, and superhero vehicles.

3D Forest and PNW Wildlife Diorama

Presented by: Epic Art

Inspired by The Great Train Story, a gigantic historical diorama that takes us from Chicago to Seattle located in Chicago's Museum of Science & Industry, Epic Art’s 3D Forest and Wildlife Diorama camp is designed for campers who love working with their hands and are fascinated with the magic of tinkering, making, and building small worlds, combining, and reusing unique natural and faux materials. This is an exciting five-days of constructing an interactive tabletop forest scene. This is not the diorama you are visualizing made from shoebox back in the day! This one is Epic! Campers will deep dive into exploring landscape design using different materials such as plaster, wood, etc., to build terrains of all kinds, including a waterfall and resin topped river! This camp is a perfect mix of creative

freedom and a Pacific Northwest habitat study! Please have campers bring clothes and shoes for getting messy and/or stained. On the last day of camp, Friday, 19 July at 3:30 p.m., everyone is invited to an Epic Family Celebration with a walkabout exhibitions and treats!

Jump Rope for Fun and Fitness Day Camp

Presented by: Ropeworks

Ropeworks has been running jump rope camps in the Seattle area for over 20 years. Rene Bibaud's acclaimed teaching techniques are highlighted at teacher conferences and high-profile events nationwide. Ropeworks' approach to skill development creates a fun success-oriented environment, creating an exciting and motivating experience for every participant. The program is designed for all skill levels and encourages participants to learn at their own pace in a fun and rewarding way! Camp activities include instructions and demonstrations in: Single Rope Skills, Partner Routines, Double Dutch Jumping, Long Rope Skills, Trampoline Boards, Group Choreography, and Juggling. Camp culminates with a performance for family and friends.

Instructors are nationally competitive and performance jump rope athletes. The camp is directed by Rene Bibaud, five-time world jump rope champion and artist and coach of Cirque Du Soleil.

Castles and Magical Creatures Camp

Presented by: Epic Art

Mini Makers embark on a fantastical journey constructing and designing a castle where imagination knows no bounds! They make Oodles of color, drawbridges, grassy bits, and moats. Each Mini Maker will be supplied with a pre-hand-built cardboard castle to jump-start their creative journey where firebreathing dragons, kings and queens, fantastical fairies, and mischievous unicorns in faraway lands will artfully inspire them. Mini Makers will play in 2D and 3D, explore slews of exciting artful materials, and enjoy real and make-believe friendships! Please have campers bring clothes and shoes to get messy and/ or stained. Treehouse Design Camp

Presented by: Epic Art

An Epic camp for Makers to immerse themselves in constructing a multi-level tree filled with natural and faux plants, creatures, small living spaces, and anything else we can imagine! During the week, Makers progressively build up a tree armature with recycled and reusable materials, get busy with new paper maché methods, and hand-design a treetop! Once they build the tree, they will dabble and explore with mark-making tools, natural wood and moss elements, rocks, textiles, and wire, creating small and mighty details such as secret caves, waterfalls, riverbeds, including ladders and swings, and course tents, campfires, benches, and more! During the creative process, Makers explore their own innovation and creative potential while developing skills in the three-dimensional realm. This project is action-packed with plenty of creative potential, constant motion, and making! Please have campers bring clothes and shoes to get messy and/or stained. On the last day of camp, Friday, August 9, at 3:30 pm, everyone is invited to an Epic Family Celebration with a walkabout, exhibitions, and treats!

Summer Clubhouse Camp

Our Clubhouse Camp provides a relaxed, fun, safe and nurturing environment for our campers and a wonderful introduction to Eton School Community for new students. Every week has a theme that offers a variety of activities, crafts, outside play, rest time (for P3 and P4 full-day campers) and lots of opportunities to be active, creative, and engaged.

Week 1: 17–21 June (No Camp 19 June)

The World Around Us: Dig deeper into the things we see around us every day. Explore local geography, indigenous history and traditions, and the plants and animals we see in our backyards!

Week 2: 24–28 June

Pirate Fever: Sail the high seas and explore the world of pirates and creatures of the deep. Make a ship to captain and turn yourself into a pirate. Learn about what makes up the ocean blue with various creature crafts.

Week 3: 1–5 July (No camp 4 July)

Four Seasons: Spend a year’s worth of time in just a week! Each day will focus on a different season with activities reflecting how the world looks at the time.

Week 4: 8–12 July

Zoo Camp: Prepare to embark on a roaring, slithering, soaring journey through the amazing world of zoo animals. Learn about conservation efforts and make a difference for our planet.

Week 5: 15–19 July

Space Explorers: The Space Explorer summer camp provides a fun intro to space exploration. Campers will learn about space history, astronomy, building rockets, making space art, and creating their sci-fi adventure.

Week 6: 22–26 July

Superhero Training: Filled with obstacle courses and character workshops, students spend the week learning what it means to be a superhero, deciding the hero they want to become, and participating in fun games and activities to enhance their super abilities.

Week 7: 29 July–2 August

Olympics: Eton School is hosting its version of the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer. The campus is turned into an Olympic village, and campers are invited to compete in Olympic-inspired games. So, let the games begin!

Week 8: 5–9 August

Beach Camp: This camp provides a distinctive blend of traditional camp activities with a beach twist, including games, storytelling, crafts, and treasure hunts, while learning about the environment.

Full Day: 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Half Day: 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Summer Extended Day Camp

Summer Extended Day Camp is available for those who attend a camp that ends between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and need childcare until 6:00 p.m.
