A Festival City

Wrangler NFR Is a Citywide Phenomenon

Fan engagement and sponsor success is all part of the Wrangler NFR.

The world’s greatest rodeo has become a national spectacle at the confluence of sport, entertainment and Western culture.

For ten days in December, fans gather from across the country to witness grit, persistence and grace under pressure. The Wrangler NFR has become a household name in Western culture and the preeminent platform for rodeo. For those two hours fans witness the top 15 contestants going head-to-head on the best stock for a share of the $10 million purse and the coveted gold buckle. Ninety-five rides are wrapped up in a spectacle that starts with a prayer, the national anthem and a country music star rocking the house.

For the other twenty-two hours, Vegas becomes a fully immersive Western lifestyle festival up and down the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown.

“‘Brilliant’ is a brilliant word to describe the 10 days of the Wrangler NFR.”

- Hailey Kinsel, 2018, 2019 Barrel Racing World Champion

WRANGLER NFR MORE THAN A RODEO

Ranching, farming, riding and rodeo is a tough life. Every December, the hay is in the barn and it’s time to let loose.

Since 1985, the NFR Experience has become a fully immersive festival with more than 20 sponsor hotels creating live entertainment and viewing parties wrapped around a custom Western lifestyle experience. The biggest and most prestigious team roping event in the world – the World Series of Team Roping – and the Junior World Finals featuring more than 750 youth contestants are all part of the daily line-up of events.

During the day, more than 750,000-square-feet of the Las Vegas Convention Center is transformed into the two of the most extravagant Western gift shows in the world – Cowboy Christmas and RMEF’s Hunter and Outdoor Christmas Expo. More than 250,000 fans annually sample from 350 of the most unique exhibitors, while also enjoying live music, mingling with NFR contestants and participating in interactive experiences.

More than 30 viewing parties are held each night of the NFR.

The Wrangler NFR contestants are always accessible to fans.

VALUE OF PARTNERSHIPS “The partnership with Las Vegas Events fits perfectly into our marketing strategy where our brand is stretched beyond Cowboy Christmas and embedded in the NFR Experience. When the idea of being the Official Trailer of the NFR came up, I knew right away it aligned with my brand and we have never looked back.”

– Randy Bloomer, Bloomer Trailers

“NFR and Cowboy Christmas is one of our largest marketing initiatives. It affords us the opportunity to promote our marketing message to the huge crowds each day during Cowboy Christmas. It is rewarding to make the personal connection and interaction with our customer base at such a fun and festive event.”

- David Nelson, VP Marketing, Purina/Land O’ Lakes
