Meet Kaelee Owner & Operator of Electric Skin Clinic

My name is Kaelee Nelson and I am the owner of Electric Skin Clinic, in Lethbridge, AB. I started in the beauty industry almost 15 years ago. I arrived for a haircut at the salon after a bad day working in the restaurant industry- and my stylist offered me a job as the receptionist. I went back after my break and quit my job and started my path in the industry. I was the receptionist of over 16 staff and soon went on to management and decided to pursue schooling in esthetics. I attended The Esthetic Institute, and decided to follow my passion for skin! In my early years I had a date with destiny at 4 years old when I fell into a glass coffee table, getting a nice set of stitches and good scaryou guessed it! IN MY EYEBROWS. Before makeup was even a THING to me- I used to steal my moms brown eye shadow to fill in the gap in my brows. This has always led me to have a passion for brows and makeup. I was later asked to be the Canadian Educator for SST Cosmetics Inc. which really ignited my passion to unify beauty and health together to my clientele. I had an interest in helping clients in a more permanent way with their eyebrows, I travelled to Vancouver to Biotouch Institute to pursue cosmetic tattooing. I left my job at the salon of 11 years and rented a tiny room in a wellness clinic on my own. I started out with an Oxygeneo Machine, a wax pot and my microbladesgiving up all other esthetics. One year later I had an opportunity to expand and I took a leap of faith and rented and renovated a 2800 sq ft space. We offer massage therapy, pedicures, skin treatments, gel nails, lashes, waxing, body treatments, cosmetic tattooing and more. In our second year of business we were recognized by the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce as the New Business of the Year, it was such an incredible achievement for our little spa! At the clinic we strive to bring our clients the latest in beauty technology and offer a wide range of experiences. Continuing education for all of our staff is very important to us, recently bringing back new eyebrow technology from Russia and converting from microblading to machine tattooing. We also have introduced one of Canada’s first male cosmetic tattoo artists. Most of all at the clinic we are a family, and our clients are our guests and our friends. We love coming to work and hanging out with each other every day- and we wouldn’t be here without our strong team and our incredibly loyal clientele.

One Stroke Gel Paint This introductory course will introduce students to the techniques of One Stroke Painting. Students will learn how to create beautiful colour schemes with the one stroke technique, how to perfect thin lines and will gain confidence and proficiency in shading skills.

Bas Relief Painting This course is for beginners and more experienced nail experts looking to master nail art designs using Bas Relief techniques. Bas Relief is a sculpture technique in which figures and/or other design elements are slightly more prominent than the overall flat background. Students will learn the primary simple elements that make up complex compositions, the correct location (composition) of the nail plate, and how to combine bas relief techniques with other designs. In addition, you will learn how to prepare and care for your nail brushes.
