About The Esthetic Institute The Esthetic Institute (TEI) was founded in 2009 in Calgary, Alberta. Our exclusive training center was established with the mission and intent to become Canada’s premier leading esthetic and spa educational academy. Our goal was to raise the bar nationally and set the benchmark in every aspect of our facilities. By choosing to focus solely on training in esthetics, we put every effort into offering aspiring and experienced Estheticians the highest standard of training by professional and qualified educators. TEI is a post secondary education facility, with licensed and accredited programs. We have two campuses in Alberta; South and North Calgary. In 2016, TEI was approved to offer the esteemed, internationally recognized CIDESCO Program of Esthetics. This 9 month, full-time diploma program opens a world of opportunity for our graduates. Successful completion of the program will provide graduates with a global passport to work worldwide in the most luxurious spas, resorts and cruise lines. TEI is among only three schools in Canada to offer this prestigious diploma program. The development of this program has been meticulously designed and created to introduce the Esthetician to holistic healing techniques and how to incorporate them to their existing spa service menu. In this program, you will learn about aromatherapy and nutrition geared to healthy skin as well as several different healing modalities all geared to balancing energy. Learn how the skin and body are linked and how balancing energy can achieve several goals for you and your client. Program requirements: In order to be successful in this program, candidates should expect to spend 10-20 hours per week, outside of class, on assignments and projects. Candidates should have with them a method of taking notes in class and a binder for handouts. Candidates must have strong computer and internet use awareness to participate in this program. A method of internet access may be required for certain classes. Students must have at-home access to email for class communication, as well as Microsoft WORD or Google Docs, and Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides for assignments and for the final exam. Our primary goal is to ensure your success as an Esthetician! Your training experience will take place in a professional, clean and modern spa-like ambient environment. Our philosophy includes limiting class sizes and running courses frequently to ensure every student receives the attention they deserve and best experience possible. In most classes, external practicums must be completed followed by a final exam, upon which a certificate will be given. General Information & Policies General Information & Policies • Upon booking for any course, 50% of the class fee is required; remaining balance is due on the first day of class. Fees / deposits are non-refundable. GST added. • All class and workshop dates are subject to change. We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel any class. No fees will be incurred if a class that has been changed by the school conflicts with a student’s existing schedule. The school will accommodate the student to reschedule classes. • Students are expected to arrive on time and be prepared for their class. Some things to bring to class: paper/notebook, pen, pencil and highlighter. • If a student arrives more than 30 minutes late without prior notice, they may be asked to reschedule the class (a rescheduling fee applies). • A 30 minute lunch break and two 10 minute breaks will be given for all full day classes. Students are welcome to bring a lunch with them. There is a fridge, microwave & cutlery/plates/bowls/cups in the lunchroom provided for all students. NO food or drinks are permitted in the practical classrooms. • Students/models are NOT permitted to bring children to class with them. If your models are coming with you to school at the same time, please let them know they will have to return for their scheduled model time as they are not to be waiting in our common areas. Please make sure you are aware of ALL of your model requirements before attending your first day of class. • The Esthetic Institute Training Center is a NON-SMOKING facility. We have a strict non-smoking policy in place where no smoking/vaping is allowed on the property while you are attending classes. • Cell phones are NOT permitted during class (theory and practical). You may use your phone on your lunch break in the designated areas (cell phone zones). • If we notice or find out anyone is under the influence of any narcotics while on the premises, you will be asked to leave the property immediately. NO refund will be returned to you. Safety is our number one priority for all of our students, models and staff.

Missed Classes, Penalties & Payment Plan Options • A $250 administrative fee applies for rewriting or rescheduling an exam or course date (applicable if less than two weeks’ notice was given). For students travelling to Calgary for courses, please plan your arrival accordingly as you will incur a rescheduling fee for missing classes. • If a student does not attend class or notifies the school within 24 hours prior to their class without a valid reason (illness, death in immediate family), the 50% course deposit fee will be forfeited and the student will have to pay the deposit again to re-register. Purchase of a Swiss Color® PMU machine is required to take this course. Restoration of the areola and scar treatment using micropigmentation is one of the most demanded procedures in the field today. One of the key benefits is the ease of implementation and fast healing process. Finally, a clinically proven method of collagen induction without laser! Derma Needling (Micro Needling) is perhaps the most successful treatment available for aging and acne scaring. This 2 day course will introduce you to one of the most successful and popular skin care techniques in the medical and Esthetic industry today. Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a 10 gauge scalpel to gently remove the top layer of dulling dead skin cells and vellus hair in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion.
