Water Supply is taken care of by Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board.

Improving Water Supply Smart Systems can be used to improve water supply. Smart systems result in Responsive utilities – better consumer satisfaction Ease of transaction, accountability and responsibility fixed Reduction in NRW. Increased availability of water in the system, without having to pump more water into it.

Reduced electricity consumption, thus reducing the costs of O&M. More than 30% of the costs of O&M at CMWSSB are contributed by the electricity charges.

Increased revenue through metered billing. by making more water reach more consumers for a longer duration.

Reduction in incidences of pollution by early detection of such incidents.

Longer life for the infrastructure through proactive maintenance of the distribution network using analytic tools.
