Since 1959, Est Est has been designing custom homes in the Valley of the Sun. Working alongside talented architects and contractors, we play a pivotal role in the design process. Starting from early conceptual design, we help to bring the dreams of a new home to life.
From oor plans and ceiling designs to kitchens, replaces, and bathrooms, Est Est provides a comprehensive design experience. We respect our client’s time and do not run them all over town. They can experience a “one-stop shop” at our office, where we curate nishes and allow them to touch and feel materials throughout the design process.
The design process culminates with the “Spec Book” which is organized with every material selection as well as detailed drawings and elevations throughout the home. This allows the contractor to accurately price out the home, and faithfully execute the design in the eld.
Est Est does not purchase from retail establishments. We have relationships with manufacturers all over the globe. We buy direct, giving us the ability to provide great value to our clients. The broad range of vendors we work with allows us to provide bespoke interiors.
We offer turnkey services including design, procurement, installation, and facilitating any warranty issues that arise in the process. Our detailed process allows us to deliver a comprehensive installation.
Est Est has a long history of working with developers, including spec homes, model homes, colorizations, and club houses. We understand how to balance creativity with nancial responsibility and provide deliverables that make it easy to market homes to prospective buyers. Our photorealistic renderings are an absolute differentiator.
With new innovative technology, Est Est has the ability to create photorealistic renderings of spaces that are in the design process, giving owners the ability to see what a space will look like long before construction has been completed. Developers regularly take advantage of this, using our renderings to market their properties well before construction concludes.
The true sign of a talented designer is not just the ability to create something new, but to adapt an existing space, bringing forth its potential. A remodel is far more challenging than a new build because of the unknowns. Our detailed design process helps to mitigate the risk of the unknown and allows the client and contractor to properly plan for the transformation.

We specify products for our clients considering their aesthetics, use case, budget, and timeline. The contractor will purchase all construction materials, including but not limited to ooring, cabinets, countertops, plumbing, and appliances. We do not have any hidden compensation related to products purchased through the contractor. Our designers are free to specify from any manufacturer and are not limited to exclusivity agreements. There is never a con ict of interest.

1959-1984 – Pat Mass & Bill Benner
Est Est, Inc., established in 1959, is the oldest of the interior design companies in Scottsdale, Arizona. The original owners, William Benner and Pat Maas, pioneered the path of interior design in Arizona. They worked on many notable residential projects with renowned architect George Christensen in Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Paradise Valley. They also were heavily involved in philanthropy including assisting with the design and fundraising for the creation of the Phoenix Zoo with their clients the Maytag family. You can see some of the original zoo animals featured in Est Est ads from the 1960s. Mr. Benner and Mr. Maas were very active in many local and national events of the times and even designed a Southwest Room for the 1965 New York World’s Fair. In 1979, Pat and Bill hired Tony Sutton.
1984-2022 – Tony & Tracey Sutton
Tony’s role quickly grew in the company, and in 1984 Tony and his wife Tracey purchased the company. Under Tony’s leadership, Est Est won hundreds of design awards for Residential, Commercial, and Hospitality projects in various design styles. Tony’s lasting legacies include the development of what is colloquially referred to as the “Spec Book” in our industry and the mentoring of countless young designers over his career. In 2010, Tony and Tracey hired their son, Blake, to come work for the rm.
Our History
2022-Present – Blake Sutton
After Tony’s passing in 2022, Blake was promoted to President and leads the rm to this day. Blake has spent his entire life in the industry, cherishing the opportunities to help homeowners create homes customized to their lifestyle and aesthetics. Before joining Est Est in 2010, Blake graduated with honors from Arizona State University with an engineering degree in Construction Management. He started his career working with a small custom home builder in Scottsdale and had the opportunity to help build the custom villas at the Montelucia Resort and Spa early in his career. The opportunity to work on the construction side of the industry and develop an understanding of how luxury homes are built has been an invaluable resource.
Blake is sharply motivated to take Est Est into a new era, one that is all about fostering a culture of creativity and celebration. He is focused on bringing the designers to the forefront and allowing them to explore their passions while providing structure to ensure a great experience for clients. He is pushing Est Est into the leading edge of the interior design world, becoming a trendsetter in cultivating timeless, gorgeous designs that take into account the way each client lives.
In 2024, Est Est moved its headquarters near the Scottsdale Quarter and began regularly implementing photo-realistic renderings into its design process.

As technology rapidly advances, Est Est has embraced these cutting-edge tools to enhance the client experience. We believe in utilizing software like Auto-Cad and Revit to properly document the design of projects to allow for accurate pricing and the faithful execution of the design concepts in the eld. We regularly create photo-realistic renderings to allow our clients to fully visualize what their spaces will look like upon completion. We also have a sophisticated system in place so we can track every furniture piece ordered on behalf of our clients so we can properly prepare for a comprehensive furniture installation.
