Residential customers are often unfamiliar with the complexities of freight delivery. And in today’s world of simple point-and-click transactions and small parcel delivery, expectations are high. That’s why we’re focused on meeting the needs of the people you serve by providing exceptional delivery experiences—the kind that keep your customers coming back.

» No Appointment/No Signature Required Standard Front Door Delivery

» Automatic shipment tracking notifications by text, with the option to opt out at any time

» Contact-free delivery experience, should an appointment be necessary

Pickup

BOL is received by Estes, entered into the system, and the pickup is made.

Point of Purchase

Consumer buys online or at store.

Transit Item is sent through Estes’ LTL network to the destination terminal.

Consumer receives a text message.

Completed Delivery Item is delivered to the front door of the consumer’s residence.

SERVICE LEVELS

The final stretch is often the most crucial, and residential consignees have high delivery expectations. That’s why Estes offers a variety of service levels to meet their varied needs:

STANDARD DELIVERY:

Front Door Delivery: Front Door Delivery: Placement of your shipment from the truck to the driveway, garage, or porch (covered area). This service includes text message alerts and online shipment tracking. No Appointment/No Signature Required Delivery is our standard delivery service, and offers more flexibility and convenience to your consignees, while ensuring freight is delivered as quickly as possible.

In the event that a delivery appointment is requested by the consignee or shipper, we will provide your customer with a contact-free delivery experience.

PREMIUM DELIVERY OPTIONS:

Entryway Delivery: Placement of the shipment through a front door into a foyer or similar area.

White Glove Delivery: Placement of the shipment in a room or area of choice, up to one flight of stairs, plus debris removal, when requested.

White Glove Delivery With Assembly: Light assembly of the shipment, defined as assembly requiring 15 minutes or less using basic hand tools.

COMMERCIAL DELIVERY

No Dock? No Problem.

At Estes, we understand that some of your most important customers might have needs that don’t fit the traditional freight delivery model.

Not every business has its own loading dock, and in some instances, your customers may even lack large, designated areas where freight can be easily picked up or dropped off. While these types of delivery situations might pose a challenge for some carriers, you can rest assured knowing that Estes has not only the industry experience, but the equipment necessary to meet your customers where they are.

Our Final Mile commercial delivery solution is perfect for businesses without traditional loading docks, such as retail stores in strip malls, restaurants, construction sites, and schools. And by focusing on your customers’ needs and eliminating the stress of non-dock delivery, we’re able to keep their businesses (and yours) running like clockwork.

Our Non-Dock Commercial Services Include:

When no dock is present, our standard Commercial Non-Dock service places the delivery next to your front or rear entrance, inside the roll-up door, or in the closest covered area.

RULES & EXCEPTIONS

While Estes Final Mile is designed to meet your customers’ unique commercial non-dock and residential delivery needs, there are a few rules and exceptions to keep in mind:

ALL SERVICE LEVELS:

» The maximum size allowed for a palletized shipment is 60” x 48” x 84” and 1,500 pounds, with side entry for pallet jack

» The maximum size allowed for a loose piece is 96” x 48” x 36” and 75 pounds

» Street access must be at least 10 feet wide

FOR RESIDENTIAL DELIVERIES:

» The individual unit weight cannot exceed 500 pounds, and the shipment must be palletized

» There should be a clear and unobstructed path to the delivery location via a paved driveway (not gravel) that can support the delivery vehicle

» There should be no steps or steep inclines required to reach the residence

» Unattended delivery is only available if your shipment’s place of purchase does not require us to obtain a signature

WHITE GLOVE & WHITE GLOVE WITH ASSEMBLY:

» For inside deliveries, stairways, doorways, and halls (anywhere you must make a turn) should be at least 36 inches wide

» White Glove delivery is always a two-person service

Delivery does not include the removal of doors from hinges or moving furniture

» White Glove service that requires moving the shipment up or down one flight of stairs from the entrance must have stairs or an elevator to the floor of delivery that can support the shipment’s weight and dimensions

» White Glove’s light assembly feature does not include projects involving water, sewer, gas, electrical connections, or wall mounts
