UK for Good achieve B-Corp

UK for Good is incredibly proud to announce that it has been awarded B Corp Certification, joining a global community of over 1200 certified UK businesses, and 6,000+ businesses around the world.

B Corps are businesses that meet high verified standards of social and environmental performance. To become B Corp Certified, a business must complete an online assessment called the B Impact Assessment (BIA) and score a minimum of 80 points. The assessment, which is independently verified by B Lab, considers the impact of a business across five areas: governance, workers, communities, environment and customers. This is a very proud moment for the company having achieved a score of 109.8, which is a big deal in the B Corp community.

It was only during the pandemic in 2021 that Donna Okell established UK for Good, using the B Corp framework to guide her business ambitions and as a start-up, UK for Good became Pending B Corp (the status for businesses which are younger than 12-months-old). Since then, the company has developed a clear purpose to shape a cleaner, greener, fairer future by helping businesses better understand and improve their impact on their people and the planet.

In short, the UK for Good team works hard to encourage and support business leaders to create purpose beyond profit and helps businesses navigate their B Corp journeys.

The theme of this year’s B Corp Month (in March) was #wegobeyond. The idea of the annual campaign is to raise awareness and to celebrate the many examples of B Corps creating purpose beyond profit. Donna Okell, Founder of UK for Good and B Leader, said: “At UK for Good #wegobeyond by helping our clients and membership community of forward-thinking businesses learn from experts and each other how they too can use their businesses as a force for good.
