The BC PNP will temporarily cease draws until the new NOC system is in place in November.

British Columbia will suspend the British Columbia Candidates Program (BC PNP) draw from October 12 to November 16, 2022.

As Canada updates its National Occupational Classification (NOC) system, the first major NOC update since 2016, Canada's Provincial Candidate Program has implemented several changes to ensure a smooth transition for candidates. Might need to be added.

BC PNP candidates who applied after October 12 will be removed and will need to reapply when the system reopens in November. If candidates are invited before October 12, they have 30 days to submit an application. Applications will be assessed using the NOC 2016 (current) criteria.

Changes under NOC 2021

 Canada's National Occupational Classification (NOC) system is an important factor in evaluating candidates wishing to come to Canada for economy class programs such as Express Entry and Provincial Nominee programs. These programs are aimed at skilled immigrants who wish to enter the Canadian labour market.

 NOC works to understand the nature of Canada's labour market, implement government programs, promote skills development, conduct research and assist Canada in administering its immigration and foreign worker programs.

The federal government updates the NOC approximately every five years and reviews the system every ten years. Changes in the NOC reflect changes in the Canadian economy and labor market.

Under the current NOC 2016 methodology, job classifications are based solely on candidates' jobs, and jobs are grouped into four categories, ranging from managerial to low-skilled.

BC invites more than 258 candidates in weekly PNP draw  More than 258 candidates were invited to apply for provincial nomination in British Columbia on September 28.  Most candidates, 215, were invited in a targeted draw for tech occupations. The invitations were issued to candidates in the Skilled Worker and International Graduates categories and included Express Entry candidates.  Candidates who were invited in the target tech draw had minimum SIRS scores of 100. SIRS acts much like the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) but is only used for British Columbia’s PNP.
 The state also holds invitational competitions for candidates to work in the following occupations.  28 early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 4214) with a score of 60 or higher. world  15 health workers in the skilled worker, international graduate, entry-level and semi-skilled worker (including EEBC option) categories with a score of 60 or higher  Elementary and semi-skilled categories of health aides with a minimum score of 60.  Other preferred occupations with a minimum score of 60
About the PNP  Founded in 1998, the PNP encourages newcomers to settle outside the metropolitan areas of Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia and spreads the benefits of immigration nationwide.  The program currently welcomes more than 80,000 new permanent residents to Canada each year. Candidates can apply through Express Entry (Enhanced Nomination) or directly to the state government. If candidates apply as part of the Express Entry program and are successfully recognized by the state, they will automatically receive an additional 600 points based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and are more likely to receive an invitation to apply from USCIS. , Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
