VELCRO® TRADEMARK USAGE GUIDELINES

Introduction The Velcro family of companies is dedicated to meeting the ever-changing needs of our customers by offering them quality products as solutions. The products we offer are on the cutting-edge of fastening technology. There is great respect in the marketplace for our fastening systems and there is genuine goodwill in support of our own success.

An important part of what we must do now is to clearly communicate to our customers our abilities and how we put them to work. In today’s ever-increasing competitive market, effectively communicating our skills and enthusiasm is essential.

The primary identifier of the Velcro Industries is our logo. It stands for the value, creativity and intelligence that the Velcro Industries offer our customers.

Through this Identity Manual we hope to further build the VELCRO® Brand and product equity by promoting and controlling the proper internal and external use of all the company trademarks beginning with the house trademark.

Think of these guidelines as tools to help us work together more effectively and efficiently. When using the logo and our other marks, it is imperative that we learn, understand and incorporate the guidelines into our work. Thank you for supporting this key initiative.

USAGE GUIDELINES

The Velcro Industries Guidelines for Trademark Use A key to success of the VELCRO® Brand is proper and consistent use of Company trademarks.

These marks, used in text and represented by visual design elements, advance and strengthen the VELCRO® Brand.

Consistent brand expression based on these guidelines will build recognition of, and trust in, the Velcro Industries and the VELCRO® Brand family of products, fortifying the position of the Velcro Industries worldwide.

Important: It is essential that the Company trademarks are used properly and in compliance with these guidelines and requests established by the Velcro Industries. Any use of Company logos and other trademarks internally, by a customer, vendor or other party doing business with the Velcro Industries must be presented to the Velcro Group Corporation (VGC) Legal Department for approval prior to any publishing or distribution. A signed written agreement must be in place governing any third party use of Company trademarks.

The Velcro Industries have an extensive range of worldwide recognized trademarks.

USAGE GUIDELINES

Here are a few rules to help you use our VELCRO® trademark correctly: 1. Put the word “Brand” after the trademark. Capitalize the trademark and always follow with the symbol “®”. For example: “VELCRO® Brand”.

2. VELCRO® Brand must be followed by the generic name of the fastener or tape, such as hook and loop fastener, fastener or closure. For example, you might say: “Our product features VELCRO® Brand fasteners”.

3. The ® should follow the word “VELCRO”. “VELCRO Brand®” would be an improper use of our trademark.

4. Never incorporate the VELCRO® trademark or any part of the trademark into your or a third party’s company name, product brand name or model number.

5. Never hyphenate or abbreviate the VELCRO® mark.

6. Never use the VELCRO® mark as a generic noun, such as, “I have velcro on my sneakers”.

7. All literature must include the following Trademark notice: “VELCRO® is a registered trademark of Velcro Industries B.V.”

Trade Name: Do not confuse the name of one of our companies with a trademark. Each word in the name must be presented in the same size and style of print. Please note there is no ® symbol in Company names.

2.1. LOGO

CONCEPT The Velcro Industries’ symbol is part of our brand identity. The symbol retains our “Flying-V”, now encircled in a red sphere, which combined with a modernization of the typeface used in the consumer packaging gives a more contemporary, powerful and memorable look.

The symbol continues the use of our corporate red as the brand color, part of our historic, graphic identity.

The symbol cannot be used alone, “VELCRO®” must always appear with it.

The font used to develop the new logo is an adaptation of an existing font family.

We have combined upper and lower case characters from the current Consumer logo to give our brand individuality.

NON-CORPORATE COLOR APPLICATIONS To be used only in applications where it is not possible to use corporate colors.

More than 10% of background color saturation

Use the negative version over background colors with more than 10% background color saturation.

When the logo is used in an application where are used certain colours and background colours, it can be used in those colours to be consistent with the rest of the application even when it is not using the corporate red and black.

When the logo is used in an application where only one color is awolled.

ADDITIONAL USAGE OF THE 3D VERSION The corporate color 3D version may also be used when:

Less than 30% of background color saturation

• the background color saturation is not over 30%.

• using silver-finish surfaces (Pantone 877c).

• printed over an image that does not distort the legibility of the logo.

CO-BRANDING IN ANOTHER BRAND'S PACKAGING It is a must that the legal statement is included in the packaging where the co-branding is applied. It can be subtle in a secondary place, but it is a requirement that this is always included.

CO-BRANDING IN A VELCRO速 BRAND PRODUCT CONSUMER PACKAGING When the co-branding is done in a VELCRO速 Brand Product Packaging, the overall design (colours, pictures, logos, etc.) has to be kept as in the original. The partner's logo has to be included and visible on the front of the packaging but in a secondary position vs. the VELCRO速 Brand logo.

今年维克罗（中国）在公司全球策略的指导下，业 务不断发展。2013年1月1日，维克罗（中国）正 式实施Oracle企业管理系统。

调查处理、绩效评定和持续改进 等十三个模块。认证总分为1000 分，获得600分以上方可进行“安 全生产标准化”三级企业的申请且 第一次申请只能从三级企业开始。 通过对这十三个模块的解读，我 们发现虽然维克罗（中国）早就 获得ISO9000质量管理体系认证和 ISO14000环境管理体系认证，但 是这两个认证和国家安监局的安 全生产标准化体系认证还是有所 不同。得益于我们从前两项认证 所培养起来的良好习惯与意识， 我们对于“安全生产标准化”的

梳理与归类显得驾轻就熟，通过 三个月的准备工作，我们的EHS 部门完成了认证申请的所有的要 求并顺利获得了“安全生产标准 化”三级企业的认证。据悉，维 克罗（中国）是塘桥镇第一批获 得此认证的企业之一。 通过此次安全生产标准化的评 核，让我们更加客观的认识到我 公司在安全生产工作中的不足与 改进方向，也督促我们将安全生 产标准化严格执行下去，因为安 全生产是企业发展的基石，唯有 基石稳固才能谋求更大的发展。

公司将会从2013年1月1日正式上线Oracle企 业管理系统，届时我们所有的信息将会由系统自动 产生，确保数据的一致性。同时，我们的发票也会 从金税系统统一开出，符合国家税务政策与规范。

Velcro Industries is showcasing its ongoing commitment to innovation and has rebranded the company both internally and externally. Our new brand identity is focused on highlighting ‘Amazing Connections’ in a contemporary way that emphasizes innovation and our position as a lifestyle brand. Boston-based Breakaway Innovation Group led the development of the company’s new brand positioning, consumer packaging, website and social media strategy. With its positioning based on ‘Amazing Connections,’ Velcro Industries captures both the physical and emotional connections fulfilled by the brand. The effort also includes updated and redesigned offices, which started with our location in Barcelona. This project was spearheaded by Luis Eslava of Luiseslava Studio, who has transformed and refurbished the Barcelona office by incorporating actual VELCRO® Brand products in the décor. Similar renovations are planned for offices in New Hampshire and China.

Partnership with Lundberg Family Farms Velcro Industries has partnered with Lundberg Family Farms to integrate PRESS-LOK™ closure technology into new package designs for their Organic and Eco-Farmed rice lines. Lundberg Family Farms was seeking a trusted, high quality brand and solution that easily aligns in order to help eliminate user frustration when reclosing packages. The brand was also committed to finding a closure solution with an audible close for consumers. The PRESS-LOK™ closure is simple to open and close because it contains an easy alignment that allows the hooks to engage without precise line-up, maintaining the package integrity Lundberg Family Farms’ customers expect. Two newly packaged products, Jasmine and Organic Brown rice, are now available at Whole Foods and Costco in the United States. Additionally, Lundberg Family Farms rice varieties are available at Walmart, the nation’s largest grocer.

Consumer Products Launch in China

Efforts are underway for Velcro APAC to introduce a line of consumer products to the Chinese market. Thirty SKUs have been selected, including ONE-WRAP® ties and a variety of adhesive-backed products, with initial distribution in supermarkets and office supplies stores.

The packaging is a version of the new global design, with modifications made to accommodate the language as well as the ability to see the actual product. Translations are currently being finalized, bringing APAC one step closer to their goal launch date of January 2013.

Welcome to Huling Tian

In August, Huling Tian joined Velcro Industries as a Marketing Communications Manager for APAC. She is working on a variety of projects including marketing strategies for consumer, automotive, and medical SBUs, sales tools, product brochures, and other communication tactics. Huling graduated with a major in Chinese language and literature and has worked in marketing communications for ten years. She says she is willing to be your Mandarin teacher if you want! As far as her most challenging work, Huling will tell you that it is being mom to a four year old girl.
