IT’S TROPICANA ON ICE Fantastic news – Holiday On Ice has announced it’s bringing its brand new ice show to the EXEC Peterborough at the East of England Showground from February 2 – 5 next year. Every show we’ve seen has been a knock-out and this time Tropicana sounds even better, featuring a giant, state-of-the-art LED screen as the backdrop to the show. This will enhance all the action on the ice with a thrilling light show that incorporates additional footage of the skaters. Wow!
Tropicana – The Passion Tour is another ice spectacular created and choreographed by Olympic champion Robin Cousins MBE. It takes you on a journey that celebrates love, life, music and dance from the high octane rock ‘n’ roll of fifties America to a smouldering bolero and the steamy Latin rhythms of a tropical night club – brought to life by a cast of over 40 world class skaters. As well as an original musical score, the show also features interpretations of some of Barry Manliow’s best loved songs including I Can’t Smile Without You, the iconic Mandy and the one and only Copacabana – so get those frilly shirts out and get ready to party! Robin told ESP – "A few years ago I was working with Barry Manilow on a TV special and I found his music works just as great skating should. It flows beautifully and soars in all the right places! There's passion and power in the songs and that's what I've always tried to convey in the shows I create.” Tickets range from £25 to £36 with concessions for senior citizens and children at just £12. A family ticket for £70 is also available and new for 2012 is a limited edition ‘meet and greet’ package on selected performances for just £10 per person. There are big savings for groups of 10 or more people. Money raised from ticket sales for the opening gala charity night will be donated to locally based charity Anna’s Hope.
