WHAT'S HAPPENING IN & AROUND TOWN Hibernation is over, folks! We’re in for an actionpacked fortnight, kicking off with the long weekend. Both markets are on this weekend, and while you’re at Saturday’s Museum Village Market, be sure to pop into brand new shop Knots & Weaves. Since spring is all about renewal (and spring cleaning) we’ve provided you with owner Sara Bonnet’s Top 4 Tips To Update Your Interiors on page 4 to give you a taste of things to come. If you’re feeling adventurous, consider a trip to Jerdacuttup on Sunday for the Banksia Blues Fest, part of the ongoing Ravensthorpe Wildflower Show. Featuring WA bluesman Lightning Jack, as well as local artists Tom Clark and Grand Casual, the event is BYO everything to camp on site at the PHOTOGRAPHY CREDIT: JOSHUA VAN STADEN @JV.MEDIA Jerdacuttup Oval. Next weekend is also shaping up to be a big one. There’s Yamato: The Drummers Of Japan at the Esperance Civic Centre next Friday, which looks incredibly cool and we’re stoked Esperance made the list for this prestigious tour. Special mention to Raquel Nelson who won our recent ticket giveaway to the show. We know everyone loves a good giveaway, so stay tuned for more competitions on the horizon. Taylor Street Quarters will also relaunch its Sunday sessions next weekend with an impressive lineup of Perth acts—Luke Fox, Michael Dunstan and Ben Catley. Of course, the AFL Grand Final is also on next weekend, so if you’re planning on having a few drinks, be sure to organise a lift to keep our roads clear of drunk drivers. As the sun peeks out more often, it’s worth acknowledging how heartening it’s been to see people braving the cold to coordinate and attend a great lineup of community events over the cooler months. We all know this place is what we make of it, and if the winter was anything to go by, it’s shaping up to be a pretty fantastic place to be this summer. Exciting times. Enjoy the Tide!
