WHAT'S HAPPENING IN & AROUND TOWN Hello, people of Esperance! We’re coming to you with this ~grainy~ front page photo, to celebrate the fact that harvest is well underway, with about half a million tonnes of canola, barley and wheat already loaded up into CBH’s Chadwick site and ready to be shipped off. Local highways are copping a beating, so as we’ve mentioned before, be careful and patient with each other on the roads during this hectic time. The whole operation was largely put on hold early this week after Sunday night’s rain, but things are heating up again, so we should all be in for a pearler of a weekend.

Sunday arvo will also see a good lineup once more at Taylor Street Quarters—our resident columnist and local music scene facilitator Kyron Smithson has got the lowdown and has also offered an interesting perspective on the importance of good venues when it comes to cultivating a local music scene. You can read more on page 7. We love to get your thoughts on topics like this so feel free to share, via esperancetide.com/chappyspoint. Also approaching fast is the Shire of Esperance’s Edge of the Bay festival from December 2-3. Featuring a skate competition and impressive music gig at the Soundshell, it’s well worth a look-in. Stay tuned into the next edition of the Tide for more info. With December on the horizon, it’s fair to say things are about to get as busy as the Post Office roundabout since the installment of those new crosswalks. Enjoy the read!
