WHAT'S HAPPENING IN & AROUND TOWN School holiday vibes in Esperance means a packed skatepark, an open Esperance Mini Golf (unless the weather is too nice) and a lovely procession of Pacers tacking across the Bay. The kids of Esperance bring so much atmosphere to our town and we’re stoked to see them out and about, causing a ruckus in Downtown Espresso Bar or having a hurta in the West Beach lagoon. No longer on holidays is Dalia and Craig Adams from Fish Face. The seafood restaurant is back in business and better than ever it seems—a real relief, as we were missing this stellar BYO restaurant like we’re currently missing Bread Local’s cinnamon scrolls. Tiff Brown’s midOctober return could not come sooner. Speaking of BYO, Forage and KyzaPresents have organised an Open Mic night this Friday evening at the Cannery Arts Centre’s Innerspace building (or as we like to call it, Tide HQ.) You can find out about that event and more on page 9. Also massive around town at the moment is, of course, the local council elections. It’s great to see heaps of nominees and some really proactive campaigns building up a sense of community spirit. With postal votes on the way, all that’s left to do is some digging to find the councillors who will represent each of our needs and values most, to put our votes to good use. Esperance is a total hive of activity at the moment and it’s got us feeling fresher than the Castletown shops after its brand new paint job. Stay tuned for next fortnight’s Esperance Show special, and happy reading!
