Please Drive Carefully!

You may need to add more time to your commute, because when buses stop to pick up students, other drivers need to stop, too. •Yellow flashing lights mean SLOW DOWN — don’t speed up — because the bus is preparing to stop. There are likely students waiting to get on the bus or parents waiting nearby to pick up children. •Red flashing lights mean STOP — and wait at least 20 feet behind the bus — because children are getting on or off the school bus. Stay stopped until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop-arm is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving. Even when lights aren’t flashing, watch for children, particularly in the morning or mid-afternoon, around school arrival and dismissal times. Be alert as you back out of a driveway, or drive through a neighborhood, school zone or bus stop.

The Area Leader in Long Term Geriatric and Rehabilitation Services has Immediate Openings: • RN Supervisor (Full-Time) • CNA’s, HHA’s, & LPN’s (PT/FT) • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (FT)

LIBRA – SEPT 23/OCT 23

TAURUS – APR 21/MAY 21

Always aim for the gold, Libra. You are in a position right now where you do not have to settle for anything less than the best. Use every tool at your disposal to get what you desire.

GEMINI – MAY 22/JUN 21

Scorpio, take a decisive stance on a problem that has been lingering and be confident about the choices you make; otherwise, things will just stall out indefinitely.

Aries, it is time to take charge. Do not allow obstacles to get in the way of your grand goals. Don’t hold back at all, and attack every project with full force. Taurus, concentrate on what you already have instead of trying to attain more. When you analyze the things around you, you’ll discover you already have what you need. The more you let your emotions show this week, the more prosperous you can become, Gemini. Try new things, even if they scare you a little.

CANCER – JUN 22/JUL 22

Cancer, if it seems as though people aren’t taking you as seriously as you’d like, you may have to adjust your tactics a little bit. Perhaps the delivery is just wrong.

LEO – JUL 23/AUG 23

Do not turn down any opportunities that come your way, Leo. Even if they seem like they may not amount to anything, they can get you the kind of exposure that you need right now.

VIRGO – AUG 24/SEPT 22

Virgo, put your plans in motion and get as many helping hands as you can muster while you’re at it. This will only make the work go that much more quickly.

Meets for a dish-to-pass luncheon. For information call 607-832-4316. 12 p.m. Bovina Presbyterian Church. Maple Street, Bovina Center NY.

SCORPIO – OCT 24/NOV 22

SAGITTARIUS – NOV 23/DEC 21

Arguments can turn into bigger battles if someone doesn’t concede their position, Sagittarius. Communication is a key thing for you right now.

CAPRICORN – DEC 22/JAN 20

Everything in your life seems to be going in different directions, Capricorn. Seek Pisce’s help as you figure out a way to get everything pointed in the same direction.

AQUARIUS – JAN 21/FEB 18

An idea can grow into something much bigger if you just give it a chance, Aquarius. With a little nurturing, you may see your idea grow into something much bigger.

PISCES – FEB 19/MAR 20

Take a step back from a problem that has been tough to solve, Pisces. There’s nothing you can do right now, so a break makes sense.

Learn About American Ginseng at Woodchuck Lodge Annual Meeting To Follow Learn about American Ginseng in “American Ginseng: Historical Roots” with Anna Plattner during Woodchuck Lodge’s Wild Saturday program Saturday Sept. 7 at 1 p.m., The Annual Membership Meeting of John Burroughs Woodchuck Lodge will follow at 2 p.m. American Ginseng is a small, native plant growing in the deep woods of the Catskills. Many don’t realize that ginseng had a special role in American history. Join Plattner of American Ginseng Pharm to learn all about the history of this unique plant, from its home in our forests to the early trade of the 18th century and, ultimately, to its cultivation today. This free event takes place at Woodchuck Lodge, located at 1633 Burroughs Memorial Road, Roxbury, NY 12474. For more information or images visit www.jbwoodchucklodge.org. The Wild Saturday program will continue until October. On the first Saturday of every month at 1 p.m., one guest speaker will give a talk on our local, natural world, providing local fun and interest at Woodchuck Lodge, John Burroughs’ former home in Roxbury. Woodchuck Lodge will be open to the public Saturday, Sept. 6 and Sunday, Sept. 7 for tours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with docents to guide visitors. Woodchuck Lodge will also be open Oct. 5 and 6 for tours. At the annual meeting, trustees and officers will elected or re-elected to their positions.
