LIVING IN EMMETT

Just over the foothills north of the Treasure Valley lies beautiful Emmett, Idaho. At the base of Squaw Butte with the Payette River flowing through it, Emmett has abundant recreational opportunities year-round and yet is a throwback to simpler times. It is an unabashedly small town with everything you need tucked within the valley. There are good restaurants, a great hospital, good schools and most of all, friendly people.

Living in Emmett allows your children the freedom of walking and biking to schools and parks. It is a safe and ideal place for raising kids. It’s a community that unites, helping neighbors by coming together, and building each other up, from businesses to people.

It’s a small town of almost 7,000 that feels isolated being tucked away in its own valley yet is only a 30-minute drive into Eagle and the bigger cities. Emmett is the perfect place for those that truly appreciate the quiet small-town living.

There is tremendous hometown pride in Emmett from their small-town high-school football games to the annual Emmett Cherry Festival that brings over 50,000 visitors to this part of the valley during the four-day event.

RECREATION & SCENERY

There really is nowhere in the Treasure Valley that has the rugged beauty that surrounds Emmett. The breathtaking scenery you see as you descend into the Emmett Valley on Highway 16 is amazing.

Surrounded by the Payette River is the very beautiful 57-acre Gem Island Sports Complex, a regular hangout for families. There are many play areas including eight baseball fields, soccer fields, a skate park, basketball and volleyball courts, an amphitheater and a stocked fishing pond. There is also a paved walking path along the river around the complex. It’s a great place to pack a cooler, the kid’s scooters, fishing poles, and spend a day with the little ones.

The Little Gem Cycle Park just east of Emmet off Highway 16 is one of the largest off-road vehicle parks in the west. Explore over 2000 acres of varied terrain with hills, ridges, and sandy areas. And Black Canyon Reservoir is a favorite spot for boating and fishing.

Along with many outdoor recreation opportunities, Emmett also hosts a variety of community events. The big one is the annual Cherry Festival, but residents also take delight in the Gem County Fair & Rodeo, Cruise Night and the Farmers Market.

Blessed with the grandeur of nature, combined with the friendly hometown spirit of its neighborhoods, Emmett is an amazing place that residents love to call home.

The Treasure Valley is right where you’ll want to live. It’s the perfect launch point to explore so many beautiful and interesting places that are anywhere from an hour to a daytrip away.

An amazing campsite is always no more than 30-minutes away, fishing 15-minutes away, off-road trails 20-minutes away, open spaces 10-minutes… You get the picture. CITY STUFF

Shopping, Theatre, Live Music, Sporting Events, Dining, Microbrew Beer, Wine Tasting… Boise and the Valley has everything you could possibly want and/or need from city living without long lines, bad traffic, or rude people.
