We’re only a month away from school opening. Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, it’s the new normal for our kids to be home-schooled or attend school online while at home. It’s something inevitable if we want them to be safe. On the other hand though, we can have a part in the layout of the room they will be studying in. You’re right! If you’re thinking of redecorating the Study Room in time for back-to-school season, here are a couple of considerations to help you make sure your student can get serious about studying:

Create an optimal study area for your kids with LED lighting It’s critical to choose clear, bright light that’s easy to work beneath. Relatively focused beams with minimal glare is a must. Proper desk lighting is crucial in preventing eye-strain and fatigue, especially in the first couple of months back at school as a student’s eyes readjust to the long hours of reading and computer work.

Substandard lighting at your child's study space can greatly affect their concentration and lead to eye strain. Consider switching to an LED desk light for your child. LED bar lights have nonvisible flickering and no glare. With a steady and dependable light and optimal brightness, your child will enjoy a better environment for learning.

In general, incandescent bulbs provide a bright, clear light. LED desk lamps offer a versatile and energy efficient option. Pay attention to these two characteristics: CRI and Color Temperature.

Color Rendering Index (CRI) measures how true-to-life colors look beneath a given light source.

This rating is especially important with desk lighting, where the ability to see contrast while reading and working is essential. Look for LEDs with high CRI ratings between 85 and 100.

Color Temperature is a standard measure of a light’s appearance, often referred to as the “warm” or “cool” look of a light. LED desk lamps in the color temperature range of 2700K to 4500K generally provide a clear and pleasing light to work beneath.

Plan the layout of the lighting design As a general rule, the light source should be positioned higher than your child’s head but out of their eyes; it should never be in direct line of sight.
