MUSCAT: A team from Oman’s Public Authority of Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) continued with its efforts in the search and rescue operations in earthquake-hit areas of Nepal. PACDA tweeted photos of the rescue operations carried out by its team. On Sunday, Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, minister of foreign affairs of Nepal, received Farhat bin Nasser Al Riyami, an envoy of the Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate, as well as Lt Col Mubarak bin Salim Al Araimi, commander of the national team for search and rescue, and Captain Mohammed bin Hamoud Al Mahmoudi, the team leader.

Nepal’s minister of foreign affairs praised the relief efforts carried out by the Omani team and expressed his deep appreciation for the Sultanate and the Government of His Majesty Sultan Qa-
boos bin Said. He wished progress and development for the existing friendly relations between the two countries.The Sultanate expressed its sympathy for the victims of the earthquake, stressing solidarity with the friendly Nepalese people in this ordeal and its participation in the humanitarian efforts. As part of the international relief programme, Lt Col Al Araimi led the team that comprises 40 members representing the Royal Oman Police (ROP), PACDA and the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF). - (With inputs from ONA)
