Specializing in 100-metre event, Al Harthi qualified Rio 2016 by winning the first place at 10.16 seconds in 2015 Military World Games, Mungyeong. In June 2016, he recorded his personal best at 10.05 seconds. Al Harthi won bronze in 100-metre event of 2010 Asian Games, Guangzhou. He had been given an honour in the London 2012 by completing the same event at 10.41 seconds.

SHOOTING Khatri won gold in 10-metre Air Rifle at the 2014 Arab Shooting Championships, individual bronze in 50-metre Rifle 3 Positions and team bronze at the 2011 Pan Arab Games. Like Wadha Al Balushi and Mazoon Al Alawi, Hamed Al Khatri was also given the wild card invitation by the IOC to take part in Rio 2016.

Participated in couple of World Cups and World Championships, Balushi had bagged bronze medal in 2014 Asian Championships for the 40-metre Air Pistol event. Wadha Al Balushi was granted a place in the 10-metre Air Pistol event and will be the first Omani female shooter to compete in the Games.

With personal best at 12.04 seconds in 100-metre sprint recorded in June this year, Alawi was handed one of the wild card invitations by the International Olympic Committee. Alawi is the youngest among the Omani athletes who will compete in the Games. Rio 2016 will be her track debut and her first race will commence on 12 August.
