Iconic LEED Certified Buildings A global green building certification program is called Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). The non-profit U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) created a set of rating systems for the design, building, usage, and upkeep of greenhouses, neighbourhoods, and facilities to assist building owners and operators in being resourceful and ecologically conscious. In 2014, there were more than 80,005 LEED-certified structures and more than 100,005 LEED Certification. Major American cities are home to the majority of LEED-certified facilities. A unique rating system created by LEED Canada has been tailored to the laws and climate of that country.

Federal, state, and local governments in the United States may demand or encourage LEED Certification. This may involve tax breaks, zoning exemptions, lower costs, and accelerated permitting. According to studies, LEED office buildings that are available for rent typically have higher rents, higher occupancy rates, and lower capitalization rates. Today, LEED certification has become a worldwide phenomenon, with buildings receiving the coveted label in every country from LEED Certification Companies. Here are 9 of the world's most extraordinary examples of energy-efficient structures. 1. Chicago's Willis Tower (LEED Gold)
