A MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Welcome to the 2022 - 2027 Escuela Americana Strategic Plan!
A strategic plan is a school’s blueprint that states what the school plans to achieve in the future and how it plans to get there.
This plan shares the essential information about why the school exists and its purpose, our community values, what the school is going to focus on over the next five years to improve our students’ experience at school, the goals and targets, and how the school is going to achieve them.
The Strategic Plan is an essential component of a school and provides a means for it to clearly identify and communicate how the school is working to improve outcomes for its students. With the world around us changing quickly, it is important to know that the school’s leaders have a clear path of continued excellence and are open to change in order to offer the best academic program, social-emotional development, and student life experience for our students. This plan also includes clear direction for the Board of Directors’ roles and how they can lead, support the community and support the Annual Fund.
All world-class schools should have a strategic plan and every member of the community should be aware of the plan and how it will positively impact their children and the school community. This plan helps the school stay focused on the goals set, decide on actions to achieve them, and mobilize the resources needed to achieve all goals.
The Board of Directors, members of the EA Leadership Team, and staff worked collaboratively with Independent School Management (ISM) to create this fantastic plan for the school to follow over the next 5 years. We also carefully reviewed and used all the community survey data over the past several years to ensure that everyone had a voice in this plan. We are very fortunate to have completed our last plan successfully as we embrace this new roadmap for our future.

LEADING-EDGE PROGRAMS FOR STUDENT SUCCESS IN AN EVER-CHANGING WORLD
1.1 Engage the entire community in what learning is and how students can actively participate in their discovery and growth, enhancing our PK3-12 curriculum with innovative, interdisciplinary programs.
1.2 Continue to grow our Standards-based Learning and Assessment in all grade levels.
1.3 Create and enhance Social-Emotional Programs to improve school culture so every student feels safe and belongs in the community.
1.4 Further develop the Family Education Programs with international experts to educate our parents about mission-centric values.
1.5 Continue to implement a comprehensive Visual and Performing Arts Program, including developing the spaces necessary to support it.
1.6 Reimagine and create a new Service Learning Program to benefit our students and serve the local community as we develop stronger community connections.
1.7 Strengthen our competitive and non-competitive sports programs to foster school identity, belonging, and spirit.
1.8 EAX - Grow our world-class English and Spanish language programs to be recognized and valued internationally.
OUTSTANDING FACULTY, SUPPORTED BY EXCELLENT ADMINISTRATORS AND STAFF AS THE FOUNDATION TO ALLOW OUR STUDENTS TO THRIVE
2.1 Attract and retain the best faculty by developing an excellent faculty recruitment process, and improving faculty compensation and wellness strategies to retain the best talent.
2.2 Continue offering our faculty comprehensive professional development and coaching to support classroom excellence.
2.3 Continue to grow and enhance our counseling services to support the social-emotional health of students and faculty.
2.4 Cultivate a culture of kindness, empathy, and belonging through acceptance of differences and inclusion of all community members.
ADVANCEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF OUR SCHOOL
3.1 Build a culture of philanthropy and generosity within our community and encourage all Trojans to give back to EA through the Annual Fund.
3.2 Model our community values to cultivate a culture of kindness and respect within our community.
3.3 Reinforce the value of an EA education through the Portrait of a Graduate with all community members.
3.4 Create additional Trojan programs and events to improve school spirit, belonging, and pride involving all community members and developing a deep understanding of the school’s mission.
3.5 Develop an Alumni Tracking Program to collect data to effectively understand how EA prepared students for University success, and to assist in philanthropic engagement.
CONTINUED LONG-TERM LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE , WITH THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
4.1 Ensure Board of Directors excellence and effectiveness by creating a unified Board that will focus on recommended practices so that our school maintains a high level of excellence and sustainability.
4.2 Create a Board profile to prioritize characteristics and skills to effectively recruit members aligned with the strategic plan’s goals and objectives.
4.3 Reinforce relationships with past Board members to keep them connected and make the most of their knowledge about the history of the school, wisdom, and experience.
FOSTERING CONDITIONS FOR FUTURE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS
5.1 School-wide commitment to continuous growth and change focused on building a school for the future through reimagining our learning environments, learning literacy for skills needed in the year 2040, and deepening an understanding of what and how we teach our students.
5.2 Create a farm-to-table food program that will teach students lifelong healthy eating habits while offering delicious and attractive food to our students.
5.3 Develop a revolutionary program expanding the use of technology throughout all aspects of EA’s programs, working with leading international tech companies.
