The EA whole child is an individual who, guided by our community values and a clear sense of self and well-being, seeks to become a responsible member of society and an active global citizen.
The EA whole child will continually strive to improve, be reflective and inquisitive, be accepting and respectful of others, and be genuinely inclined to serve their community.
A whole child approach ensures that our students are healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged. This sets the standard for comprehensive, sustainable school improvement and provides for long-term student success.
We embrace the transformative power of creativity. Our international program nurtures each child’s innate curiosity, fostering a deep love for learning that lasts a lifetime. Through play, hands-on exploration, artistic expression, and open-ended activities, we ignite the spark of imagination, encouraging children to dream big.
PHYSICAL
SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL
At the heart of the Creative Curriculum is a deep understanding of child development. Children learn best when their social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language needs are met. Our program provides a nurturing environment fostering positive relationships, self-regulation, and a strong sense of well-being, ensuring every child thrives and flourishes.
The environment plays a crucial role in shaping children’s learning experiences. The Creative Curriculum provides thoughtfully designed learning spaces that inspire curiosity, encourage independent exploration, and promote collaboration. From cozy reading corners to engaging play areas, our classrooms are carefully curated and divided into interest areas to stimulate creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning, where our students make choices and experiment while they pursue their interests and purposefully engage by playing.
Every child is unique, with their own strengths, interests, and learning styles.
The Creative Curriculum recognizes and celebrates these individual differences. We provide a flexible framework that allows teachers to tailor their lessons to meet the specific needs of each child, fostering a sense of ownership and empowerment in their educational journey. Our program encourages children to set goals, take risks, and embrace their own path to success.
In the ECC Program learning is dynamic, personalized, and empowering.
The program is grounded on a standards-based approach using an inquiry lens to engage in teaching and learning through projects and in-depth explorations utilizing the Workshop Model.
The Workshop Model is an instructional practice that consists of three parts:
• A focused and interactive mini-lesson that introduces key concepts, skills, or strategies.
• Time to actively engage in meaningful tasks and apply their learning.
• A debrief to share their learning with their peers and teachers.
Your child will engage daily in reading, speaking, listening, and writing in English and Spanish.
Literacy instruction occurs in small and large groups as well as individually. Since students grow and develop at differing rates, we have developed clear targets within units as well as multiple assessments to better monitor and support each child’s progress.
Within our ECC program, your child will be exposed to a variety of hands-on experiences to develop his or her mathematical thinking, including numeracy and problemsolving skills.
Through exploration, projects, and play, students naturally encounter authentic situations that require mathematical skills to further plan, create, build, design, or analyze. Your child will be challenged to engage with relevant and meaningful questions or provocations that build their understanding of mathematical concepts.
Thematic learning in our ECC program is based on the integration of Science and Social Studies concepts using daily life examples, experiences, and student-led projects. Thematic learning promotes interdisciplinary connections and enhances students’ conceptual understanding, critical thinking abilities, and real-world application of knowledge.
*Literacy, Mathematics, and Social Studies are guided by the American Education Reaches Out (AERO) Standards.
