Escola Concept is a Brazilian-born, bilingual, international, coeducational, non-denominational, and non-residential school serving learners from Pre-school through Grade 12 across its 3 campuses. Rooted in innovation, our approach blends global best practices with local relevance. Inspired by Reggio Emilia in the Early Years and driven by researchbased frameworks throughout, we nurture learning through Project-Based Learning (PBL), Visible Thinking Routines, Design Thinking, and a partnership with the Institute for Habits of Mind, for which we are recognized as the only Latin American Center of Excellence. Learning at Concept is inquiry-driven, intentional, grounded in a culture that values feedback and welcomes responsible risk-taking as a key component of innovation, and guided by our four foundational pillars:

ENROLLMENT OVERVIEW

Escola Concept enrolls approximately 339 High School learners across Grades 9 through 12. The current enrollment per grade is as follows: FOR THE CLASS OF 2025, THE 68 GRADE 12 LEARNERS ARE DISTRIBUTED ACROSS ESCOLA CONCEPT’S THREE CAMPUSES: SÃO PAULO, RIBEIRÃO PRETO AND SALVADOR

Small class sizes, up to 25 learners, ensure individualized attention, strong faculty relationships, and a personalized learning experience aligned with each learner’s goals.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR & COURSE STRUCTURE

Escola Concept follows the southern hemisphere academic calendar, with classes beginning in early February and concluding in mid-December. All core and AP courses are year-long, divided into three trimesters. Grade 12 learners graduate in December.

Mid-year reports for Grade 12 are issued in late August, capturing performance from the first and second trimesters. Final transcripts and diplomas are released in early January following graduation.

All Escola Concept learners graduate with a Brazilian High School Diploma, grounded in the BNCC and accredited by the Ministry of Education. This diploma is enhanced by international academic opportunities and globally recognized credentials. Escola Concept is a member of AMISA, a network that fosters innovation and collaboration among leading international schools, and is accredited by GEAC for its academic rigor, student support, and future-ready approach.

Escola Concept’s High School curriculum, spanning Grades 9 through 12, is rooted in inquiry-based and project-based learning. Each year builds upon the “Understand  Explore  Materialize” learning model, guiding learners through a transformative journey. Escola Concept issues two versions of its official transcripts:

INTERNATIONAL TRANSCRIPT

In English, designed specifically to support learners applying to universities abroad. This transcript highlights academic performance in the context of international admissions, including GPA and AP coursework.

NATIONAL TRANSCRIPT

In Portuguese, for learners applying solely within Brazil.

 ESCOLA CONCEPT DOES NOT RANK LEARNERS, NOR DOES IT PUBLISH A CLASS RANKING. TO PROVIDE CONTEXT, EACH STUDENT’S GPA IS CONTEXTUALIZED BY IDENTIFYING ITS PERCENTILE PLACEMENT WITHIN THE OVERALL GRADE DISTRIBUTION OF THE GRADUATING CLASS. THIS PERCENTILE IS INDICATED DIRECTLY ON THE TRANSCRIPT TO PROVIDE CLARITY WITHOUT ASSIGNING A FORMAL RANK.

STANDARDIZED TESTING PROFILE

Among 40 learners who took the SAT during the 2024–25 academic year (from August onward) and earned valid scores, Escola Concept learners achieved:

GRADING SCALE & ACADEMIC REPORTING GRADE DISTRIBUTION

Escola Concept uses a series of internal descriptors, and transcripts show the numerical grading system aligned with BNCC standards. The table shows how these descriptors align with our numerical grades and provides a suggested equivalency table to both letter grades and a 4.0 scale.

ESCOLA CONCEPT CALCULATES GRADE POINT AVERAGE (GPA) ON A 0–10 UNWEIGHTED SCALE, REPORTED PER TRIMESTER AND AS A CUMULATIVE YEARLY VALUE. GPA INCLUDES ALL CORE ACADEMIC COURSES, AS WELL AS ANY ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) COURSES TAKEN. NO ADDITIONAL WEIGHT IS GIVEN FOR COURSE RIGOR; AP COURSES ARE FACTORED EQUALLY INTO GPA.

Final cumulative Grade averages for the Class of 2025, representing all three campuses. GPA conversions are approximated for international understanding.

 FINAL GPAS AND GRADE DISTRIBUTIONS ARE BASED ON ALL CORE SUBJECT PERFORMANCE. THIS BREAKDOWN OFFERS INSIGHT INTO PERFORMANCE TRENDS ACROSS THE FULL COHORT.

AP SCORE DATA

Escola Concept learners achieved an average AP score of 3.23 out of 5 across the AP subjects administered in 2024, including AP Language and Composition, AP Environmental Science, AP Human Geography, AP Seminar, AP Research, and AP Pre-Calculus.

Escola Concept’s College and Career Counseling program is anchored in the W.A.K.E.
