DESIGN FOR LONGEVITY
A CHANGING PERSPECTIVE ON AGING
AGING AND ALZHEIMER’S
When is the right time to move to an assisted living facility? With design tools and modern architectural interventions, the home can be adjusted for aging in place safely and comfortably. The Abler Residence has been redesigned for this purpose. The residence is comprised of Richard, a film producer, his mother Margaret, an 85 year old alzheimer’s patient, and his 12 year old son. The design solution offers the family a haven; fitted with memory devices, tools for aging in place, and tailored furniture to nurture the aging mind and body.

A Private collection designed for Macy’s, Sirena is a brand of bold and dramatic shoes that are made from natural materials. Designed for an influencer world; the new logo and brand identity epitomize the adventurous modern woman.
Inspired by the canyons of the Sountwest, the design concept features curved and concave custom fixtures with striking stone features walls and a custom mirrored center hub for try-ons. The cascading ceiling with a series of cove lights create natural ripples of light; simulating the shadows cast by the morning sun reaching into a canyon. The hand cast natural bronze cladding on the shoe fixtures is a striking motif that is repeated in subtle design elements, such as hardware and accent light fixtures.

Owned by the heirs to the Campbell’s soup legacy and fortune, “DMB” is a renowned real estate development firm with a reputation for success. Their new headquarters in the stunning Scottsdale Forum Building was designed as a visual icon of their name and status in the valley. The palette is muted with pops of warmth, natural stone, wood, and modern cove lighting as a sleek backdrop to the client’s unbelievable fine art collection and Hermès furniture. At the private south entrance to the suite, the company’s foundation “DFE” is displayed with a brass logo embedded in ribbed stone. The custom design is constructed from 8 flawless slabs of luxurious Italian marble.

THE MISSION OF NOVEL COWORKING
Is to provide an amenity-rich hub where energetic bussinesses can thrive. They have a recognizable “brand identity” that sets the design tone for all of their spaces. However, when they aquired the historic “Heard Builiding”, they wanted to preserve the character and richness of the architecture while also making it theirs.
Being the first high rise building ever constructed in Phoenix, the building represents over a century of development. We started from the outside; restoring the windows that had been previously removed, and transforming the 2nd floor rooftop into a large and vibrant balcony space for events. Then we worked floor by floor on the spacious mezzanine and the many suites, conference rooms, break areas, and ancillary spaces. The result is signature to Novel but also distinct to the city of Phoenix with nods to the Southwest; the ultimate co-working experience of Arizona.

FLOOR PLANS ROOFTOP

The new exterior rooftop balcony is designed to be a central break space for second floor tenants, and will serve as a lively event space for happy hours and celebrations for the whole building. The space is ADA accesible through a hallway ramp to the exterior vestibule and can also be accessed through the custom sliding panel door system which joins the adjacent conference room to the balcony. At night, the bistro lights and sconces come alive and the view of the surrounding city skyscrapers is illuminated.
