World Teachers Day W orld Teachers Day is an annual event held to commemorate teachers globally and their dedication towards actualizing education for all. The World Teachers Day, which is held every 5th October, was launched by UNESCO in 1994. Considering the importance of teachers in shaping future generations, this day was dedicated to celebrate their efforts and thank them for their tireless hard work. in 1994. The holiday is symbolic and marks the adoption of the UNESCO Recommendation 1966 regarding the conditions of the teachers. The Recommendation established standards concerning the rights of teachers for their early preparation, recruitment, learning environment, and further education. It’s to be noted that World Teachers Day is different from National Teacher Day, although both celebrate teachers. National Teacher Day is celebrated on the first Tuesday of the first week in May.
