PROBLEMATICHE IDROGRAFICHE RILEVANTI a. Le alte temperature sono causa di una rilevante evaporazione dell’acqua sul territorio e del prosciugamento della falda acquifera alluvionale sotterranea b. Le piogge non sono sufficienti per alimentare la falda acquifera sotterranea, che per alimentarsi priva il terreno, i canali e lo stesso fiume di ingenti quantità di acqua, causando aridità e infertilità del suolo c. Le piogge sono molto scarse e si concentrano nel periodo fra giugno e settembre, contribuendo solo per il 5-10% alla portata del fiume d. I grandi sistemi infrastrutturali costruiti, in costruzione e di progetto sul territorio, rispondono alle singole necessità degli stati in cui sono installate, non salvaguardando la complessità dell’intero bacino idrografico del Niger e risultano così causa di conflitti di interessi e tensioni fra gli stati attraversati dal suo corso
