Litigation Update Texas Association of Business Joins Lawsuit Maintains Research Shows Billions Could Be Saved By Changing the CEI Earlier today, the Texas Association of Business filed a request with the District Court to be admitted as a party to the school finance lawsuit. In the petition, the Efficiency Interveners (TREE-the 5th lawsuit) insist research indicates the state could save billions by aligning the CEI with today's actual costs differentials. It's important to note, billions cannot be saved in this manner, but the Efficiency Interveners' intent is clear. To date no school districts have joined the TREE lawsuit.
