The Children Dad, You are so strong, courageous, hard working, generous, caring, loving and faithful. You never asked for anything; You gave!

You shared with us your love of fishing, gardening, hunting, pets, fixing things, hard work and a donkey named “Billie”. The most important thing you shared with us is the love of Christ.

We have learned through you and Mama and reading the Word that God is always in control and directs our path. And that our ability to overcome obstacles is through trusting God and holding on to His promises. We know that God continues to take care of us even though He decided to carry you home to Heaven.

We know you are still watching us and loving us.

You’ve just gone to a better place to wait for us.

Your love, your big smile, your Four Wheeler, the dogs (Tip, Willie & Layla) and Billie continues to give us a happy feelings and happy memories.

We know that you took a special interest in each one of us.

You lead by example and we never got a spanking.

Cause we were real good kids. From time to time we will take a walk down memory lane and think of you. And know that we had the best Pa Paw ever!

We the family of Harrison Coleman, Sr. is sincerely grateful for the warm expressions of love and concern shown to our family during our time of bereavement. We struggle to find words to express our gratitude and our love. The food, visits, telephone calls, cards, flowers, words of encouragement and prayers extended to us during the illness and passing of our father and husband. You brought comfort and uplifted our spirits. Thank you for all your being the vessels through which God have brought solace. It is our prayer that our God finds favor in you and that he blesses you abundantly with joy, happiness and riches.

eacon Harrison Coleman, Sr. was born October 10, 1926 to the late Ollie Coleman and Lucinda Smith Coleman.

He first joined the Pleasant Hill B.C., Fryeburg, Louisiana. He later moved his membership to Mt. Calvary B.C. and rededicated his life to Christ. It was at Mt. Calvary where he was ordained a Deacon on July 29, 1984. He loved serving as a Deacon doing God’s work. It was at Mt. Calvary that he truly went to work for the Lord and became active in the Usher Board, First District Liberty Hill Baptist Association, Treasure, Outreach Ministry, Van Ministry, etc. The Van Ministry was his passion. Bring people to church was a special joy and commitment, especially the children.

He faithfully served until he could serve no more.

He was known for his strong work ethic having started at an early age. During his working years, he worked for Jessie McConathy’s Service Station and later worked for the Ford Motor Company. After retirement, he continued to work part-time in his lawn service business, janitorial services at the church and other duties at the church.

He was united in holy matrimony to his loving wife of 62 years, Bertha Lee Bennett Coleman. To this union, six children were born. Patricia Cox of Dallas TX, Gloria Daniels (Larry) of Keithville LA, Harrison Coleman Jr.(Gwen) of Dallas, TX, Don Coleman of Houston, TX, Rodney Coleman (Latondra) of Dallas, TX and Kevin Coleman of Dallas, TX. Numerous grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews and cousins. Brothers: Sherman Coleman (Bunchie) of Houston, TX, Thurman Coleman (Marilyn) of Shreveport. Sister: Ollie B Baker (Prentiss) of Minden, LA. Final reflections go to those relatives who preceded him in death: Parents Ollie Coleman and Lucinda Smith Coleman, Step Mother Lillie B “Sis” Shephard Coleman; Sisters: Lola B Baker, Phenia Fowler, Nettie B Coleman, Laura Coleman, and Sarah Wilkes; Brother: John Coleman.

We didn’t want to give you up, Your passing thought doth make us sad, But still we’re consoled with this thought; In Heaven you will be glad.

We didn’t want to give you up, Yet we know you’re gone to rest, So comforted, are we by this thought, To be Heaven is the best
