COACHES’ TOOLKIT:

September marked the return of youth league play across Eastern PA We are thrilled to see players back on the pitch, building confidence and community through the game.

Here is an Early-Season Checklist:

✔ Reflect on early games: Are you progressing toward team goals?

✔ Review practice standards and expectations with your players.

✔ Try this training session on Timed Runs Behind (Attacking): Pages 6-7

✔ Use Individual Development Plans (IDPs):

IDPs are a proven tool to support players’ growth They create a roadmap for technical, tactical, and personal goals while sparking meaningful dialogue between players, parents, and coaches. This not only clarifies expectations but also strengthens player ownership of their development journey.

COMMUNICATION TIP (VIA BETSY BUTTERICK):

"Clarity is kindness." As The Coaches’ Coach, Betsy reminds us that clear, intentional communication minimizes confusion and builds trust Take time to check for understanding when you share feedback or instructions as it transforms conversations into connections.
