The ex-general made the comments in a speech opening the 16th Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement, a 118-nation group he called the “largest movement for peace in history”. “We must encourage the major powers to maintain stable and cooperative relations. We must help to ensure that the seismic power-shifts do not lead to new strategic tension,”Yudhoyono told the assembled foreign ministers. “Where possible, we should encourage a constructive process of cooperative security so that enemies become friends, and friends become partners.” Yudhoyono called for total nuclear disarmament and encouraged all nations to “resolve disputes and conflicts through dialogue, negotiations and other peaceful means”. DENPASAR - To overcome congestion frequently haunting the annual Bali Arts Festival (BAF), Bali Transportation Services is going to operate 24 shuttle buses especially for people who want to make a visit to Art Center, Denpasar, through two main route corridors, namely Ngurah Rai Stadium and Renon East Parking. “In relation to this shuttle service, visitors will be provided with parking spaces, so if they want to go to the art center they will not be confused to find a parking space. Simply come to the main bus routes and the shuttle bus will deliver them to enjoy a variety of shows,” said the
Head of Bali Transportation Services, Made Santha, to Bali Post on Tuesday (May 24). He said within the past 30 years of implementing the Bali Arts Festival, government persistently made improvement in all lines, ranging from the management to the contents of BAF. Now, it would be expanded to procurement of shuttle services. “We have seen so far that implementation of BAF is often graced by congestion due to volume of vehicles parking on the road body is quite high. So, we will improve it this year by setting up some representative parking spaces and we convey the community by bus,” he said. Continued on page 6
