Guide of guides A Message from Our President

Ralph Waldo Emerson said “Not in his/her goals but in his/her transitions man is great.”

Heroes are made in the uncomfortable spaces in between life’s stages. If it is in our transitions - our changing from one state to another - in which we can find greatness, how do we embrace the adversity and summon the perseverance needed during the change, the flux, the in-between? Why are we averse to going there at times?

A Hero’s Journey, our theme for EO ATLANTA this year, inspires us to see with fresh eyes the examples of those who have jumped or been forced into uncomfortable spaces in order to grow.

Where are the examples?

Start with any Board member, 4

eager to guide every member on their journey. Connect with the members outside your forum and even outside the chapter - even region. The data tells us how members manage their Forum experience and the travel opportunities they take for EO, driving the value received.

Together as a chapter, led by our Guides on the Board, we will create the “micro collisions” among new places, new people, and new ideas that will deliver the value and growth we seek from this new year.

We will not be the same at the end of this year as when we began. The Board and I will create the conditions that only you can leverage for the challenges and uncomfortable spaces ahead in order to come out changed and stronger than before. I can’t wait to start the Journey with you.
