THE WESTTOWN EARTH DAY

I had fun on Earth Day. I’m hoping to do it again sometime. I picked up trash at Humboldt Park, and it was a great experience. If it comes up again, I would like to do it again. I really had a nice time doing that. It was fun! It was a lot of people out there. There was dancing. They were handing out t-shirts, coffee. I gave my shirt to my brother-in-law. I picked up trash. It was kind of fun and kind of yucky. But we keep the Earth clean. To me, Earth Day means keeping our Earth clean. We came together to help the community.

MORGAN PARK CENTER

The first time I went to Morgan Park, I just want to stay there because it is closer to Troy This is who I am because Morgan Park my favorite place because it its much closer to Troy. That’s the way I like it. It is also a new place for me. I love it very much.

FRICK CENTER

I went to the Frick Center I said, hi to my cool friends. People know me there. I had a good Birthday. While at Frick Center Cottage Grove staff and me went to KFC for my Birthday. At Frick, I helped water plants I did exercise and enjoyed visiting my friends at Frick

When I went back to the Rose Center. I was happy to see my friends. But I’m happy to be with my special friends and glad to be back with my cool special friends at Cottage Grove and love them.

Wendy (staff): What’s wrong?

Sam (member): Call Tawanda.

Wendy (staff): What for?

Sam (member): I want to talk to her.

THE FUNERAL

WORKING BIKES

We did the bike tires We did everything and stuff like that We came and drove. At 2pm we came back from Working Bikes. I like it because it’s fun and we got to do everything. They give us donuts and stuff like that. We use the bathrooms and stuff like that. We fix the bikes and put air in them. We spend time learning about stuff up there like how to fix bikes. We said thank you for everything we did. We walked up there and greet people and stuff like that; “Hi, what’s our names?” and stuff like that We had a free lunch on Fridays We enjoy stuff when Chef Alan brings lunch We say “Thank you ” and get seconds and stuff We get cookies and ice cream

WHITE SOX

I went to front of lady order my food chicken tenders with French fries . she asked me how much money I gave her a white Sox card . I didn’t buy no drink just only food I am happy spending time with everyone I love white sox from Chicago

FRIENDSHIP

I went to Friendship Chinese Restaurant. I help out with Alan Showed me how to use a pineapple and salad And we help out for a little bit longer Had to use gloves The other side of the kitchen and Ruth did the salads and pineapple. And Sheila and Anthony B. were helping out together put the pineapple on salad. We had a crew together, like friends. I was smiling and Alan taught me how to be a server. When the food arrived and get ready for out to eat lunch, I am so excited be at restaurant And I see beautiful people at Envision Unlimited, first time And I saw my boyfriend Got me giggles I had white rice and orange chicken It taste so good. I wish I make my own Chinese Food.

NATIONAL POETRY MONTH

I like to read it and write it. It is really awesome. It makes me feel powerful. Every time I think about it, I think about sad, love, betray, happy, kind, honest, truthful, joy. I hear voices I hear birds chirping I see people walking. It makes me feel glowing. Then I keep my heart is butterflies. When I start walking. The words come to me in my head, like “Just do it. Keep writing. Never stops.” When I picture in my mind something inside of my heart, saying “Why? You are a wonderful woman, Jamie.” Inspire me to be poetry. When I sit down, I write in the bench. I keep my thoughts, close my eyes, and I keep writing I say, “Roses are red, violets are blue...” My mind is always in the sky. It’s telling me, “Yes! You can do it!”

This poem is about God. I like poems about God. The broken road - when you broke somebody that hurts you. You cannot find true love. When you ’ re looking at the road and you have to walk, when somebody sees you to be with you. The twist in fate, love, God. I feel the pain in my heart. Bad memories working in my life. I have my fears. I was scared. Every night I had a dream. God’s telling me, “I’ll bless you in your life. Doesn’t matter who you are. ” Blessing, day, be happy.
