Work with volunteers. Do some plants. Pour water. Pull those leaves on the fence. The 606 trail. Say "hi" to people. Say "hi" to all people. Say "hi" to everybody. Pull those leaves, put them in the garbage.

They put the plants in the garden. I did the plants in the garden outside. Picking up the leaves then put it in the garbage.

WESTTOWN GARDEN

We watered the flowers and we put some seeds in the ground. We watered the grass and the garden. We were outside helping Paula. We were in the parking lot. We put the soil in the trees. We put soil in the flowers. We want to do it again.

BAKING CLASS

By Scott M., Adam Rapacz, and Keke Scott: The lavender cupcakes, it was great, I want to make the German cake.

Adam: It was good.

Scott: Wear some gloves and make them, we had to cut up the caramel. I did an awesome job cutting the pieces, this way and this way, like a plus sign. I learned to use the blender.

Keke: We add the flour, sugar, egg, butter, we cut the caramel pieces.

Adam: I want to make pizza, cheese, I love cheese.

Scott: Yes pizza! Pepperoni and sausage and mozzarella pizza. I will learn how to make pancakes too!

Keke: I want to make a brownie.

Adam: What is hard is setting the oven.

Scott: Well like Adam said the oven, I don’t know how to set the oven to the right time Keke: When you roll the cookies and you put it in the pan is hard Adam: The cookies looked like chocolate chip, but it was caramel, they were good.

Scott: they were delicious, Tequila gave me the rest of her cookies.

Keke: They were so good.

BLOCK PARTY

By Willie N., Ruth M., Marcus W., and Vahid M. We went to the block party on Friday. It was on Drake.

We won the bag, and we eat some food and drink. The bags were free and had a lot of stuff in it, like a cup, chips, water bottle, cookies, a coloring book, fruit in a cup, a puzzle, coloring pencils, a pencil sharpener, pens, trail mix, lotion, almonds, vitamins, hand sanitizer, spray, and tea - black tea and green tea.

We take our blood pressure.

You gotta do the wheel, spin the wheel, win the prize bag.

We ate our fruit and potato chips.

We danced and we had a lot of fun. I like to talk to some people.

I introduced myself and said, "How are you today?" We talked to two ladies.

We had fun.

BEAUTIFUL ARTICLE

Hannah came, Jimmy, Emily and Kendall came, Lucy, Anthony B., Yolanda, my sister and me, my brother, my mom, Kendall's mom, her aunt, Emily's parents. They had sausage, they had fruit pie, water sparkling water. There was music.

They were selling purses. I had fun.

PURPLE RAIN

By Willie N. He is my favorite singer. I watch his movie every day. I watch his music videos at the workshop. Why did he have to pass away? His birthday is June the 7th. I don't know his girlfriend's name. I saw his first guitar. I liked the field trip! I want to go back. I want to bring extra money if we go back to buy more stuff. I saw a vinyl record with his picture on it and a coffee cup with his picture on it and his name on it too. I took a picture of the poster.

GIVING MY SPEECH

I went to the Rotary Club to say my speech to everyone. I talked about 7 different topics: the Current Class, the special events, the Media Club, Zero Landfill, Big Marsh, Buddy Biking, and Unlimited Voices. At Westtown I like to exercise on the treadmill and do janitorial work. In Current Class, we learn how to budget groceries, use transportation, and write articles about it. At special events on weekends and after hours, I went to the fashion show and The Weaving Mill picnic. In Media Club, I take pictures at big events like the Fashion Show, the Bright Futures Gala, and Big Marsh. I learn how to edit video with Jimmy. I volunteer with Zero Landfill where people come shop for free and take what they want to take. It's just like a store of donations. People give away unwanted materials. I was on the news with Melissa. At Big Marsh, I cut down the buckthorns, we mulched the ground, and I train other people environmental stewardship. On the 606 trail, I Buddy Biked with Deb. At Bike The Drive, I Buddy Biked with Mark Daniels. The first time we did Bike the Drive, it was really hot. The second time we biked, it was raining. I write for the newsletter. I say it and Hannah types it. I hope in the future that I will make more friends with the Journey of Hope.

At first, I did not think the food was going to be good, but once they served it, it looked really good. It tasted really delicious!

I gave a speech. I thought of everything I wanted to say. I got a little nervous but I knocked it out! Marty said I did great. I took a picture with Mark McHugh and Peter.
