HFC's direct community assistance and policy/system change work has brought in more than $180 million in food resources for families who were struggling to put healthy food on the table They have also built partnerships and provided capacity building support to more than 100 grassroots organizations across the state, including many specifically led by and serving the Latinx immigrant community The organization released a report on community developed recommendations that achieved more equitable access to child nutrition programs and set in place policy changes that will boost SNAP benefits for years to come
HFC led a statewide public awareness campaign that resulted in 70,000 children obtaining more than $19 million in pandemic food assistance benefits (P EBT) Also their Promotoras program helped more than 4,000 immigrant children obtain $1 2 million in P EBT benefits
Hunger Free Colorado (HFC), a statewide nonprofit organization, connects people to food resources to meet existing needs and drives policy, systems and social change to end hunger They envision a day when every Coloradan has equitable access to the nutritious food needed to thrive and reach their full potential

HFC's SNAP Outreach programs work to improve state participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Hunger Free Colorado staff visit multiple community locations to provide in person assistance in the Denver Metro area Additionally, staff provide free training, tools, and support to community partners Statewide through our SNAP PEAS program To date, they have connected 64,769 households to food resources through Hotline, Mobile Outreach and SNAP PEAS

In this newly created position, the Chief Operations Officer (COO) is a visionary leader that works collaboratively to develop systems and practices that address the interplay between food insecurity and systemic racism Through leading the organization in its culture building with JEDI principles, the COO will ingrain equitable and just practices Into every aspect of the organization, from our internal processes, to our decision making, to building leadership pipelines and elevating marginalized viewpoints
The COO will have expertise in change management, team leadership and will be able to foster job satisfaction and equality among staff The COO is always looking for ways to improve staff morale and culture, updating operations, policies, processes and organizational practices to create a space where staff want to work and feel valued
The Ideal candidate has led social justice organizations that reflect their core values through the Implementation of practices that are consistent with justice, equity, diversity and Inclusion The candidate's background with organizations whose focus is on human services, policy or community partnerships has fomented a deep understanding of the intersection between internal culture work, programs that address food equality and the systemic barriers that cause food insecurity in our society
Hunger Free Colorado is seeking a creative and strategic Chief Operating Officer to lead the organization forward in its journey to be an equity centered, anti racist organization that can successfully achieve its bold mission of ending hunger in Colorado
