Editor I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all who continue to support Enter The Zone TV. We are very proud to introduce the relaunch of ETZ The Magazine. This publication began as the print version of our entertainment televison talk show, Enter The Zone.

We initially launched ETZ The Magazine in the Fall of 2009. Due to lack of support, we reevaluated our position and decided to put the magazine on hiatus.

Since that time, we have educated ourselves, soul searched and decided to come back, again. With the edition of new personal and some revamping of the magazine, we are ready to go forward with our return.

Thank you to all who have now joined us in making this publication possible, again. I want to thank Mike Braxton & Get Money Filmz for always being in my corner, The Enter The Zone TV family for being there from the start, soul X & The GPR family (we got work to do), The Addikenn Modeling Agency, Marty Cross, Albert Connell, James "Illogik" Townsend, Tyrone Harris, Carlow Stanley, Renea Lawrence and the entire Cheyenne Agency family. Where on the map do you come from?

Born and raised in York PA, but I'm of Jamaican Desent

I go by the name Skitzo for a reason... My personality, flow, and vibe altogether changes damn near every track so really I'm just doing me.

What was it that made you want to get into the music industry and what's your tenure?

My mother use to always record herself singing when I was a kid and from there I started to do the same, and I've been singing and rapping for about 15 yrs, I've been recording and making beats for about 9yrs.

Who are some of the artists you've put in work with? Please name a few, past and present?

Shawna, Twista, Young Joc, Eastwood, Persia, Bad Girls Club, Tanisha, Mack Maine, and Chantz Kacey.

What's the indie Hip Hop scene like where you're from?

Lol...where I'm from everybody and their momma raps, so most of the fans are other artists. I'm from a small city, the scene ain't as poppin' as I'd like it to be, but I do what I do with what I got.

Who influenced you as an artist?

Different people influence me at different times. but to name a few... Jay-Z, Pac, Busta, Eminem, and T-Pain. Away from celebs my cousin, Sheek made me wanna rap and sing altogether.

What was the name of the first mixtape you dropped and do you have any current projects?

The first mixtape I dropped was called "Who He Is" and it dropped in 07. I have a mixtape out now on datpiff.com named "FYF" (f**k your feelings). I'm currently workin on FYF2 and my debut album called"NiteSkool".

What can your listeners and fans expect from you each time you drop?

Thee unexpected lol... I'm a musician, I do more then rap and sing, but most of all lyrics. I'm always going to have bars for you.

Who are some of the emcees, DJs and crews, you're affiliated with?

My main focus right now is building my brand, Institution Muzik/Native Son Entertainment... but I have done some work with Shawna, Twista, Young Joc, Eastwood,Persia, and Mack Maine, who I keep close contact with.

What genre of music can't you stand to listen to? Heavy Metal ...It makes me want to go bananas...LOL What hidden talents do you have? I dabble in film. I'm really into filming videos and I can also sing a little bit.

Could you explain your journey in the music game to this point and how you got involved in the music business? My journey has been no easy task. It's hard work, learning how to listen,taking creative critisim. I lost family and friends trying to stay in the music business. This game is very competitive, you have to stay focused and on top of your game. I have been blessed to place myself around a team that pushes me to brand myself as a businessman, entertainer and artist.

The journey has lead me to travel coast to coast to share my talentsin music and video productionwith major and indie artists alike. Where are you from good brother?

I was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware.

What were the determining factors that caused you to get into the music industry and how long have you been grinding? Ever since I realized I had a voice and the gift to change the way people felt, I knew it was something I wanted to do on a greater scale.

I've been singing for 10 years now.

What's the indie Hip Hop scene like where you're from? It's crazy. At times diluted with so many artists and egos. I think overall it's honest, because not everyone will make it a mainstream success, which is why it's so great that they have so many showcases and open mics.

Who and what were some of your influences?

I could name a lot of people I use to listen to and ones I currently listen to, but overall there are only 3 artists that helped shape my voice. Stevie Wonder, Usher Raymond, and Ms. Brandy Norwood. All three artists are successful, and legends in their own rights.

Is the indie music scene in Delaware, Hip Hop for example, represented to the fullest? I'm not a huge Hip-Hop fan to be quite honest. But what I can say is that not everyone has it, and not everyone is hot like they think they are. For those who do have it and are hot, they need to work on pushing themselves to the next level.

They need to learn the business, and conduct themselves accordingly.

Who are some of the music folks, you're affiliated with? I'm just going to list them as they come to mind: Donte "Mr. GiveMeABeat", Busy Abraham P., J to the Kirb, DJ GQ, DJ Ruckus, DJ Geek, DJ Cardigan, DJ Megaskills, Kori James, Fred from Studio 22, Kevin "KillaVision" Allen, Sean Original, the list truly goes on and on.

There's way too many to name or remember, but they know who they are!

As music and trends change, what are you doing to stay current? I'm constantly evolving.

Straight and simple. It's the only way I can continue to be an inspiration. So early in my career, I've already had people tell me that I inspire them, so you know what that feels like?

It's crazy and it makes me want to keep going hard. It's a blessings to even be able to have fans or people that know and love your work.

Who are some of the artists you've worked with? I've worked with a ton of producers, and we've done some amazing work! Sean Original, T3k (who I think goes by JusAMelody now), DA, Ric & Thadeus (who produced my first single "Pretty Faces"), Brandon Rudolph (who I think has a promising career), and I'm currently working with Problum Child. "PC" and I just made a record, and it's a smash! I don't really do collaborations, but if one comes by at the right time, I'm willing and ready to make it h a p p e n !

What were the initial recordings you dropped and are there any current projects? My first mixtape was titled "In Due Time". It was basically my way of putting out a ton of old tracks and re-establishing my name while continuing to market and build my brand.

Currently I have a single out called "Pretty Faces"! I love this record, because it's an anthem for the fellas, and a plea to the ladies.

Thats the beauty of this culture, everybody has a different perspective but when they all start to sound like the same point of view, then the culture is misrepresented.

YUNG POME What geographical area are you from? Born in Indiana...I reside in Virginia Beach, VA but relocating to Jacksonville Florida artist/songwriter at GrindGang Music Group What made you want to get into the music industry & how long have you been doing music? I've always had a love for music all different genres.. I needed an outlet to get my feelings and thoughts out and about eight years ago it started to be a release for me that's when I started put in the groundwork to become an artist.

What's the indie Hip Hop scene like where you're from? The music scene in Virginia, I feel is watered down there is so much talent that is out here but at the same time, but so many get in the way of being a unified area and on the same page as other artists here.

Who and what were some of your influences? I have always been a big fan and supporter of Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie, Remy Ma, Queen Latifah, Common, Meek Mill, artists with stories and substance behind their words.

In your opinion, is the Hip Hop scene VA still need work? I don't think anywhere you are is solid, because Hip Hop is always growing and the culture itself, is always changing and evolving. I think, if people started being on the same page, I really think that VA could be another NYC, Atlanta, or even Miami. You see artists in those areas show support to each other and collaborate frequently. Here, you rarely see it, it's like everybody kind of does their own thing.

Who are some of the emcees, DJs and crews, you're affiliated with? Usually if you see me, I'm solo dolo and rep my GrindGand Music imprint to the fullest. But some of the people I have ran with, have been StreetSlang Entertainment. I have affiliates in Rock Baby Music, out of Baltimore, also the Diamond Boys, out of New York. That's, my man, Cyph aka El Dattio and his crew.

The music scene constantly changes, how do you stay current? I try and stay current by continuously putting mixtapes out, being featured on people's mixtapes and hosting them. But as far as an artist, collectively I stay true to myself and put out the music of what's currently going on in my life and the experiences I've seen or going through.

Who are some of the artists you've worked with, name a few, past and present? Some of the artist I've worked with are Ray Starks, Cyph aka El Dattio, 727, Hush, High Priest,Son-One to name a few.

What was the first project you dropped and do you have anything currently in the pipeline? I have dropped the This is Me EP, Street Poetry EP, Power Opportunity, Money and Emotions Mixtape and as a featured artist on Apex Mixtape, Ladies First The MissTape, and currently working on the Yung &The Restless Mixtape which dropped last month.

What can your listeners expect from you? What the listeners can always expect is TRUTH!!! What you see is what you get. I don't paint pretty pictures, because my life ain't been so pretty. I've been through my share of struggles just like the next one, but you can always expect to get a piece of me when you listen as if I'm right in your face talking to you.

Goals for you? A major goal for me is longevity. I've put too much work in, just to be a one hit wonder and I think some people get caught up in the success of what music can bring. So staying grounded and humble is always a major goal.

Please tell the readers where Poni comes from?

I’m from the East End of London, England.

How long have you been doing music and what made you want to get into the music industry?

Making music and performing was the thing that I loved doing the most. I realized that I was happiest when I was making music, so it made sense to pursue it. I was taking weekly music lessons playing the organ and flute from age four, when I was 14 I decided to focus on music as a career.

What's the indie Hip Hop scene like in England?

There’s always a lot going on the underground, because that’s where people can express themselves fully without feeling the need to compromise. There are a lot of pirate radio stations on the FM dial and independent cable TV channels, so up and coming artist can have a platform to be heard on the airwaves and on TV. Also there are lots of Open Mic nights and showcases every week.

Who are some of your influences?

Bone Thugs and Harmony, Nas, Tu Pac, Eve, Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, Outcast and lots of reggae artist like Capelton, Sizla and Beres Hammond. My own personal life experiences also influenced my music because my song notebooks were like a diary to me, it was how I got out my inner most thoughts. It was easier for me to write down what I was feeling rather than speaking it.

In your opinion, is the Hip Hop scene in the UK represented correctly or does it still need work?

It’s very different. Our whole sound isn’t like the American sound. Also we are quite far behind in terms of UK bred ‘real hip-hop’ being allowed to get onto mainstream radio. Pirate radio stations are were you can find good hip-hop music.

Who are some of the MCs, DJs and music crews, you're affiliated with?

Dark Foundation, I started with them. Mr Denaun Porter of Shady Records, he was my first big name producer. Lil Wayne, I did a track with him featured on his mixtape Public Enemy.

The music scene changes, how do you stay current?

I love listening to music so I’m always aware of what’s going on on the scene, but I think as an Artist its best to stay on your own wave and developing your own sound, that way you naturally evolve.

Bwoy, I was ahead of myself on that one and just answered that on the previous question, I have worked with a lot of different people from UK, Sweden, Norway, France, Atlanta, Miami, LA, NYC and Detroit.

What was the first project you dropped and do you have any thing new on the launchpad?

My first solo mixtape was called “Born 2 Buck”. I’ve recently released single called “I’m Like Rahh” currently available on download and the video is on rotation on BET Intl. I’ve got a song and video called Hating A$$ B**ch ft Fame coming soon, it was recorded and shot in Brooklyn and I have an EP with DJ K.Lass from France, we shot a video for one of the songs in Morocco, so look out for the video for the song called “You and Me”.

What can your listeners expect from you, musically, each time you drop an album, single or mix tape?

My music’s fresh, every song is different, I like to have new ideas and keep it creative but not so out there that the vocals don’t bounce with the beat. I’m into flows and keeping people hooked with strong melodies. Lyrically, I speak from the heart, I’ve had a lot of crazy life experiences so you’re bound to get some of that in each song I write.

What are some of your goals, musically?

I want my listeners to be able to tell me that my songs touched them or motivated them. I want my music to inspire people and provoke emotions. I also would love to stand on a stage and receive awards for my work.

Jayy Lee Where do you come from? Unfortunately, I'm from the middle of nowhere aka Merced, CA. Busy tryna get it on the map in the meantime, though!

What made you get into the music industry and what's your tenure? I never necessarily "wanted" to get into the music industry. When I was in high school I was going through a lot of stuff and had no way to let analyze it, let it out, or even deal with it so I started writing in attempts to figure everything out. Since then, I've gotten a little bit better at expressing how I feel, and in turn, have started sharing my experiences in attempt to help others get through whatever it is that they may be going through. The process just so happens to be known as the industry. So in total, I've been writing for about seven years now, I've been performing slam poetry for about a year or two, and have gotten serious about pushing my music this past year.

What's the indie Hip Hop scene like where you're from? It's steadily building. We've gone through a lot of transitional phases, but as we are growing older, learning, and getting to know ourselves and one another, I feel like many of the underground artists out here have started to come together. We've been putting on a lot of shows, events, networking, and--more than anything--bringing people together.

Who and what were some of your influences? My main influence for writing was pain, but my main influence for growing was writing. It's always been a love/hate relationship.

As far as artists go, Jean Grae has always been a major influence since I first heard her on Immortal Techniques track "The Illest." (--I know delayed. She had tons of tracks out before that, but I didn't start listening to real hip hop until late in my teens.) Some other influences have been Nas, Talib Kweli, Immortal Technique, Apani B Fly Emcee, Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Blu, Method Man, some Sam Cook, and Nina Simone.

Is Hip Hop scene where you're from represented correctly or does it still need work?

I don't think that this is necessarily an issue that is/was formed in my city, but is more so something that has been brainwashed into our minds via mainstream media. I wish there were more artists who focused on the lyricism, flow, wordplay, and intellect--as opposed to the materialistic and negative connotations that hip hop is known for, but nonetheless it is still a part of hip hop.

However, in regards to my city, I feel like each individual artist is bringing something all their own into the game. As long as we are coming together and putting on for our city and giving back to the community (whether it be shows, music, representation, or whatever else we can offer), I think we are doing our part. The hardest thing I feel like we are fighting with as underground artists are egos, but those who let it get the best of them will be the ones who will be effected by it.

Who are some of the emcees, DJs and crews, you're affiliated with? I'm currently affiliated with NoowGen, (originally known as NativeMovement). I'm always working on an album with a producer from Germany known by the name of OrdinaryRoots. And currently putting together a networking group known as Break! The Industry.

The music scene constantly changes, what are you doing to stay current? The music scene constantly changes, but people (as a whole) do not. Therefore I'm not trying to stay current, I'm trying to stay true. I try to be honest in every song that I record, in every poem that I write, and in everything that I do. I try to speak on how I feel, and what others can relate to--even if they couldn't relate, I'd write about it so they can learn to understand.

Music styles come and go, but I do not represent a style. I try to represent reality, and no matter how hard you may try to change it, it's always going to be the same.

How do your listeners receive you each time you release material? I hope at this point my listeners can expect to hear ME in my music. I'm not trying to be compared to Nicki Minaj, or confused for Kreayshawn. I don't constantly drop music about partying, or sex, or alcohol. I'm constantly trying to express what's on my mind, and hopefully that comes across in everything that I drop.

What are some of the goals you've set for yourself? Short term, I'd like to do a track with Jean Grae and Apani B Fly Emcee. Long term, I'd like to get this next album and mixtape dropped so I can get my name established a little more amongst my 209 community. Eventually I'd like to do more shows, branch out into other industries, and make a business out of it.

Where do you come from?

Philly girl all day, everyday. To be exact, I was born in South Philly, home of Beans (Beanie Sigel).

What made you want to get into doing music?

I love music. I am a fan, as well as an artist.

When I heard Tupac Shakur, I was instantly a fan and hooked to Hip Hop forever. My journey began with poetry/creative writing used to express my thoughts,troubles and ideas. Eventually poetry, which is rhyme turned in rhymes I used rhythms (music) alas my journey in music began. Tupac was the main inspiration, but there were many that I admire and made me want to be apart of the art. Just to name a few, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Nas, Jay Z, Eve, Lil Kim, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Lady of Rage, Da Brat and so many more. I've been loving and appreciating music my whole life, but I've been making it for about two years now.

What's the underground scene like from your perspective?

The Underground scene is definitely alive here in Philadelphia. I wish we had more opportunities to be heard by major labels. The unity is also lacking here, unlike other cities who rally behind there artists. There's not alot of support here. In Philly, it seems once you make it, then you get the love unfortunately, but I love my city and I hope to be one of the artists that can help to change that. If I make it, I want to help other artists, like me, on the grind and who are talented. I would be that link and also a voice of experience and knowledge to help school those artists, so they don't get abused in this music biz.

Your influences?

I have so many but just to name a few, Tupac Shakur, LiL Kim, Eve, Nas, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Marvin Gaye, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Carly Simon, Cranberries, Al Greene, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Jay Z and so so many more...

In your opinion, is the framework for Philly Hip Hop represented correctly or does it still need work?

It needs a lot of work. I mean Philly is full of diverse talent, but it seems only the hardcore, street type Hip Hop is highlighted. Either that or the overly sexual scene or club music. There are a lot of great emcees talking about other topics and I think you need all that to make a great mix of music. You need the street music, clubmusic, trip hop, storytellers, anthems, political, social, economic and heart felt music to truly represent the true meaning of Hip Hop. Hip Hop is not one style and I think the majors need to remember that as well.

Who are some of the Industry people you're affiliated with?

Well, in my short time in this business I've managed to make some great connections across the globe. I really don't like to name drop, but I have worked with some great talents from all over and I look forward to working with more awesome producers, deejay's, studio engineers, artist, promoters and graphic artist in the future.

How do you stay current?

As an artist, I like to take risks and stay current on whats happening musically. You can always expect something different from NTG. I like to shock my audiences with different styles, sounds,beats, flows and keep people on there toes. I work tirelessly to make sure I put out the finest product possible. My music is my art and I have to be able to look myself and the mirror at the end of the day therefore know that everything you hear from me is from the heart and my best.

What made you want to get into the music industry & how long have you been doing music?

I've always had an ear for music, since I was young. But I never knew I would be interested into actually doing music , until I tried it one day and since then I took a passion for music from all categories.

What's the Hip Hop scene like in Philly?

The indie hip hop scene where I’m from is sort of like a trap flow feeling, you know a raw feeling in other words all you will hear is bangers.

Who and what were some of your influences?

I love this question because I do look up to very few artists in the music industry, such as Jayz, Lil ‘Wayne, Eminem and Kanye West, basically legendary musicians.

In your opinion, is the Hip Hop scene in Philly still need work?

I think the “Hip Hop” scene where in Philly still needs work because after so many years, it’s still the same sound and same flow. There’s no diversity or originality. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, but I think that’s where I come in at, I feels as though I can bring an whole new sound to Hip Hop, an whole new diverse sound at that.

Who are some of the emcees, DJs and crews, you're down with?

I haven’t work with any big musicians yet, I’ve done features and performances with many underground artists around my area. I feel like I still have a lot more to prove and to show, I gotten the chance to meet Jayz during “Made in America” festival in last September.

The music scene constantly changes, how do you stay current?

You know that’s the thing people seem to be afraid of, change.

Change isn’t a bad thing as long as you know where you came from.

I think that’s all that really matters. I think an artist should always try new sounds just to keep it interesting. Where I'm concerned, whenever I get lost in the moment I always remember where I’m from and where I’m currently at.

Who are some of the artists you've worked with, name a few, past and present?

I've worked with a lot of young underground artists around the Philadelphia area, such as Tommy Gun Reef, Good Look, Lil Blizzie, GMN, Micky Van Gogh, Kidpoetik and Preshhh Da Rapper & Rizzy Rics.

What was the first mix tape/album you dropped and do you have any current projects?

Yes I have a total of three mix tapes and over ten singles. My very first mix tape “Planet Germany” dropped at the end of 2011. My second mix tape “Return of Planet Germany” drop during summer of 2012.

Now my current mix tape “Planet Germany: THE COME UP” Recently just dropped in last November. I’m excited about people's responses, but now my team is currently working on interviews and music videos, I had performances lined up in the last December.

What can your listeners expect from you, musically, each time you drop an album, single or mix tape?

My fans/supporters will always expect me to bring the heat and I always will. They can expect that funny punch line side of me and that never not knowing what I’m about to say side. I’m not an open book, I don’t ever want to be figured out. I like to keep it exciting as long as I can, I will.

What are some of your goals, musically?

You know I always get asked this and I feel as though I have more to experience and see more things. I have a family that depends on me and supports me 100 percent. Taking care of my family is my main goal, at this moment. I don’t care how many doors get shut in my face I know I’m going go 100% hard with this music.

CrisTene Tell us about your beginnings. Where are you from?

Born in Philly and raised in Philly and Queens, NY. What made you want to get into the music and hwhat's your tenure?

I started singing at age four and was always involved in musicals, plays and talent shows.

I attended a Performing Arts middle and High School where I learned piano. I then completed a degree in Music Education from Temple University. I realized that after twenty years of exposure to this musical lifestyle, that music had to be something I was destined to do. I had even taken breaks from music but my heart drew me right back in. I'm in love with Mr. Music...LOL In your opinion, what's the indie underground music scene like in the city of The Brotherly?

In Philadelphia its definitely open because of what Meek Mill has done and is currently doing. He is one of the greatest that has come out of Philly. There are many different outlets to network in Philly, such as studios, independent radio shows etc. As for my NYC scene, I LOVE IT!!! NYC is a place where the musical scene for ALL genres is totally open.

Whether it's Hip Hop, Rock, R&B etc. I mean, NYC is so accepting of musical talents that I used to sing in the subways on the A line and draw crowds of people on their daily travels to work; Thus making them late. (LOL) Who were the influencial people you looked to?

This is a difficult, because there are so many. My influences in music chronologically were Xscape, SWV, Jodeci, Alanis Morrisette, P!nk, Mary J Blige, Missy, Beyonce and Green Day. In your opinion, is the music scene where you're from represented well?

Well, the representation of music everywhere can always be better. With the evolution and constant changing of music as a whole it becomes difficult to correctly define it.correctly define it.

I am constantly reinventing myself, my style and my music. I always try to create a trend and trademark that is "CrisTene' ( Kris-Ten-aye). Or " Civil Sybil" which I will describe later.

What was your initial album you dropped and do you have anything new on deck?

My mixtape is called "Civil Sybil" Part I and I released that in Summer 2012 on the internet via datpiff.com, youtube and other social networks. Sybil was a movie that came out years and years ago and I remember all the adults in my family watching it. It is about a woman with multiple personality disorders but these disorders are what brought about her creativity. Well that is how I describe my music. It has multiple personalities because I cross into multiple genres and explore multiple views from many perspectives allowing me to be creative.

What can your listeners look for, each time you release a project?

My listeners can expect me to give them something creative, something they are able to relate to and something real. I am not the singer that is a prissy type or lives in a fictitious world, as if I never had or have problems. Whether it be personal, musical, relationships etc. At such a young age, I've seen and experienced a lot beyond what others may believe.

Goals and ambitions, musically?

To go global and worldwide. To reach and touch people, touch lives and to be understood because what's understood doesn't need to be explained.

BETHANY ANNE ETZ caught up to Philly Diva, Bethany Anne and chopped it up about what she's doing these days.

Hey Bethany, how are you. Can you tell us who and what were some of your influences?

My biggest influences are Sade because she is such an effortless talent that knows how to keep it classy, Eryka Badu who embraces her creativity and knows how to be herself, Rihanna because I admire her boldness and carefree spirit, and Beyonce who is modestly perfect. Those four women exude everything that I would want to be.

What's some of the music you're vibing to these days?

I listen to everything. I love Jazz, Old School, Rock, Pop, New Age, Dubstep, Neo Soul, R&B. My iPod is full of different genres. The only rappers I listen to are Common, Mos Def, Tupac, LL and Drake.

What would be the most embarrassing song or songs you have in your mp3 player?

The most embarrassing group of song you'll find on my MP3 player is the entire High School Musical playlist.

I'm sorry, but I do LOVE the movie.

What's the biggest event/party you would like to be apart of?

I would love, love, love to perform at the Super Bowl. That is a dream of mine.

What do you see yourself doing in the future other than music?

Other than my music, I see myself acting, modeling and writing Self Help books.

Anything that would allow me to express my creativity.

Would you ever incorporate a band with your peformance and who would like to perform with, in terms of bands? I would love to have a band and rock out like Paramore, Nickel back, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, or even the Killers or Nirvana.

In your opinion, is the Hip Hop scene where you're from represented correctly? I'm not a big rap fan. I don't want to hear a whole bunch of nothin, I call it jungle bunny music. I would rather listen to Opera and I think I hate that too...LOL. Do you have any hidden talents? A hidden talent would be that I am a great cook, and I love to do hair. I always do my own hair, many people don't know that about me.

Tell us about your personal journey. My journey has been a very unexpected one. Since I was 16 years old, recording myself on cassette tapes and passing them out in my high school to now traveling and opening up for artist like James Fortune and Machine Gun Kelly.

I am very proud of "ME" because I do it all myself. Of course I give praise to my Lord and Savior for instilling such a drive and passion for music. It has been a hard struggle, especially when your a single mother, in school, working a full time job, sometimes I wonder where I get the energy. I'm just very determined and I love music!

Being on stage and performing or even being in the studio is like my second home. I always loved to sing but it wasn't until one day in high school I was walking down the hall and I heard a girl singing the lyrics to one of my songs from the cassette tapes I made at home. Now it was normal for everyone to know and sing my songs, but this girl walked right passed me singing and obviously didn't even now it was one of my songs. The only reason I got so much pleasure out of that moment was because two weeks prior to that day, that particular girl and I fought. I always loved to sing, but after that day I KNEW that was something that I had to do. Long story short the best is yet to come, and I will continue to sacrifice and work hard to reach my dream.

Please leave us some lessons. To someone that wants to start a music career I would say to them "Make sure that this is really what you want to do because the game is 90% business and 10% music."

We drew up the hoodlum gang and put our first album out in stores called Molotove music and now we working on a new deal. Im working on my solo mixtape called 'The Call Of Noodie'.

Hey Adrianna, tell the readers where you're from?

I am from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

What made you want to get into music and how long have you been doing music?

I grew up going to a performing arts school. We performed for an audience of more then 35,000. I fell in love with music and the stage. I was the lead singer of a sound crew and had a song on the radio in Calgary.

I then fronted a Motown/Jazz band for four years. I wanted to take my career to the next level, so I moved to Toronto where I recorded my five song EP “Before You & Me” and did my music video for “No Boys” which is currently in rotation on Much Music.

What's the music scene like where you're from?

The music scene here in Calgary is growing consistently with many talented up and coming artists.

Who were some of your influences?

My influences growing up were jazz classics, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole, Etta James. As I grew older, Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston to name a few.

In your opinion, is the music scene in Toronto, represented correctly among the artits there or does more work need to be done?

It needs a lot of work, but its getting better as more great Canadian artists emerge.

What are your biggest turn ons and turn offs about the music industry?

You need a lot of street smarts,. There are scam artists everywhere you turn. The industry has changed so much, there are so many TV shows about music, it is a lot harder to get noticed, no matter how talented you are. But having the internet as a main promotion tool benefits a lot of artists that don’t necessarily have the backing.

Who are some of the producers you've have worked with?

Some of the producers I have worked with are Suges and Martino, Spinz, Max Kennedy, Max Beats and Shakur Green.

The music scene constantly changes, what are you doing to stay current?

I am keeping up with what is current, always researching and finding a happy medium between that and my own sound. It is very important to have your own sound and be true to it.

Where are you originally from?

I'm originally from Munich Germany.

What is the indie music scene like in Germany?

It's definitely very versatile, but we love Pop music, R&B, Hip Hop and Dance in Europe.

How long have you been doing music?

All my life, but I seriously started pursuing it when I moved here to the States.

Give me some insight on how you feel about the music industry?

I feel the music industry has definitely changed a bit, but hard working and dedicated people will always be able to succeed in the Industry. I do think it has a lot to do with timing and 2013 is Victoria Martini time.

As a woman and an artist, do you feel get the props you think you deserve or is it an uphill battle?

I would say its harder to be taken serious when you are a good looking woman but at the same time if you are a business woman and you show people that you are not just a pretty face you earn your respect What is your management situation like?

Currently, I am dealing with a few people on my team and we all are working together on making 2013 a great and successful year.

Who and what were some of your influences?

I love so many people but my favorites are Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion. I love my divas and losing Whitney Houston was terrible. I also love Ne-Yo, I think he is super talented. I admire Beyonce and as far as Hip Hop goes, but I have to say my all time favorite is Tupac. I love Lil Wayne's music and the whole Cash Money/Young Money movement. Are you limited to one genre of music?

I am from North Philly What made you want to get into the music industry & how long have you been doing music?

I have been rapping since I was 13 years old. I just get a joy out of writing songs and hearing them come to life when I record them. The fact that I can use my songwriting abilities to get messages out to the world is amazing to me.

What's the indie Hip Hop scene like where you're from?

In my opinion, there's a lot of talented people.

Who and what were some of your influences?

As far as other artist go, I love EVE! She was one of my influences as I was growing up. But as far as personal influences, becoming a mother has been my biggest influence in my life. I want the best for my child and I want her to look at me and see that I'm following my dreams and that anything is possible in life.

In your opinion, is Philly Hip Hop represented correctly or does it still need work?

It still needs work. Everyone knows Philly has some of the most talented hip hop artists. But their approach is still hood and to be successful in the industry you need to be Professional. It's ok to rap hard or whatever you choose to portray in your music. But professionalism will take you a long way! Some artists get a little local buzz in Philly and think they popping and think they holding Philly down, LOL. But the artist that represented big for the Philly scene like Eve, was popping around the entire world!

Who are some of the people, you're affiliated with?

I don't mix and mingle with random people. I am very selective when it comes to doing features and who I associate myself with. Megabuck Entertainment Group is my family!

The music scene constantly changes, what does Mz. Genesiz do to stay current?

I'm just myself and I always constantly challenge myself to be better! I don't follow the trend of what other artists are doing. But I do look out and try to identify what it is that my fans are lacking and need in their life, then I try and give them that through the voice of my songs.

Who are some of the artists you've worked with?

I have opened up for Ryan Leslie, Roscoe Dash & Tierra Marie. I also worked with Dymez, Sted D, AleXander, Skeizzo, Twan D, Rose Hughes, etc :-) What was the first mixtape you dropped and do you have any current projects?

Wow, the first mixtape I dropped was in 2006 and it was called " Let There Be Light". Since then I 've put out 3 more mixtapes and my most recent one is Formal Introduction. There is an album version of that which features all original music written by ME, currently on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify! SO please go check it out!. Also I am releasing a new mixtape next month, so look out for that. I'm working yall, grind time!!!

What can your listeners and fans expect from you?

My listeners can expect me to always give it my all!!! I will always give you that special ingredient called CONTENT in each and every song. I specialize in storytelling and giving my listeners, a song they can identify with and relate to. I never half step. If you ask anyone that knows me, they will tell you that I take making music serious. I'm not here to just spit some hot barz and bounce. I want my music to be TIMELESS! What are some of your goals, musically?

I want people to have more respect for women in Hip Hop and I want to inspire women to be more secure with themselves. I want women to love themselves for who they are. So musically that is why most of my songs are triumph songs, Self esteem building songs or simply a song to say hey I been where u are, everything will be just fine. Keep believing, Demand respect and keep fighting. The media creates this image that as women you need a big booty, fake boobs, and all that other crap to be pretty. But Mz Genesiz says NO YOU DON"T! Right now this is my main goal and it will get accomplished, believe that!!

How long have you been in the modeling business?

Its been about 2 years since I've started shooting and working to get into this business.

Was there ever a job you refused to do? What was it and Why? There was a mention for me to try out for bikini basketball. I refused because I actually played the sport all the way up through college. To have another opportunity to play in a bikini was a big turnoff. I could not play in that, knowing how much I love the sport.

What made you decide to become a model? I've always been interesting in modeling growing up, but basketball took most of my focus and energy. When I finished playing ball is when I decided to go into modeling full force and explore art.

What would you say was you "big Break"? Honestly, I feel I haven't even came to that point yet.

Is there anyone who influenced you in your career?

I would have to say my mom. I would talk to her about my interests in modeling and the concerns I had with me being so tall but she reassured me and if went from there.

Is there any advice you can give to young ladies trying to get in the modeling industry? Some Do's & Don'ts. - DO: Go for whatever you dream of. DO: Work hard and practice your craft! DO: Find what YOU want out of the things you go for and WORK! DON'T: Let anyone tell you no. DON'T: Shape yourself around another person's vision or perspective. Do you!

Is there anything about the path you've chosen that you would do differently or change? I don't think so. The things that I have experienced so far have benefited me better than if I didn't go through them at all.

What can you fans look forward to seeing you do in the near future? More of everything!

What projects if any are you working on now? Right now, just submissions and getting my name out there. I'm just working on branding my name and learning more to the modeling industry.

I'm interested in working with kids in social work and I'm also interested in working in retail.

ETZ The Magazine recently caught up with DJ Alomo. He sat down with us to briefly give us some insight into how he feels about the art of DJing.

Who taught you how to DJ? DJ Preme.

What was your first mixtape you dropped~?

Nothing But The Butters.

What is your ultimate goal with your DJ career?

To be the next DJ Drama or DJ Khaled.

Cassidy, hands down.

What type of equipment do you prefer to you?

Who do you think is the best rapper in the game ? And why?

My favorite right now is Meek Mill, that cat can spit bars and Dot Com. What is the biggest dj set you have done. How many people were there?

David Banner, "Heel The Hood" , it was at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta. lt was at least 20,000 plus.

Who is the biggest artist you have worked with on a mixtape?

DJ Unk. Have you won any awards as a DJ? Not yet, but I'll be up for a few every year. I'm up for the DJ of the year for the Queen City awards and up for Best Club DJ & Best Mixtape DJ for the SC Music Awards.

DJ.2SHORT Where you from?

Born and raised in the city of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia.

What made you want to get into the music industry? As a kid I loved music & everything about it.

What djs did you look up to growing up? Growing up in the mid 80's and 90's there were so many influential artist but if I had to name a few definitely Jam Master Jay ,DJ Q-bert,Kid Capri, Funkmaster Flex.

Who taught you how to DJ? Funny story I always found myself attracted to DJ equipment and one day a bar needed a DJ and my boy DJ Jose asked me to cover for him since I always said I was a DJ lol so I did that night and the club owner told me I was good and he wanted me back so after that I told my boy Jose to teach me so I started to learn how to master the craft of a DJ linking up with new DJ's and learning more as I went along and still learning to this day.

What was your first mixtape you dropped?

The first mixtape I dropped was Time Is Money. I made up like 50 copies and gave them away as a Xmas gift to friends and they liked it. So then I step it up I started my series called Hood Hits and from there it was my life and went on to do more mixtapes til this day.

What is your ultimate goal with your dj career? To get signed to a major label. I want to be like a DJ Khaled of Philly.

Who is your favorite industry DJ? Right now I'm going to say, as a club DJ Pauly D. He came along way.

Who is your favorite artist?

My favorite artist of all time Jay-Z, just love his flow.

What type of equipment do you prefer to you?

Turntables, but I can use just about anything...lol

Who do you think is the best rapper in the game ? And why? Right now 2 Chainz his flow is nice and keeps coming out with what the people want hear.

What is the biggest dj set you have done. How many people were there? I did a big show in nj it's was a show with big lou there was about 2,000 to 4,000 people Who was the biggest artist you have worked with on a mixtape? Pinky XXX, so far she's been the biggest artist I had that hosted one of my mixtapes.

Have you won any awards as a DJ? No, not yet What was the first mixtape you drop? Hood Hits Vol.1.

How do you feel about the current state of hip hop? It could be better. Hip-Hop would never be like it was back in the day, I can say that much.

The one thing you hate about hip hop is? The one thing I hate about Hip-Hop is hate. It's like life you have your up's and down's What advice would you give to the upcoming artists out here?

Never stop learning and don't stop believing in yourself.

Mike Braxton and Get Money Filmz

Mike Braxton stays on the grind! Mike Braxton is a businessman, entrepreneur a mover and shaker in Philly. Mike Braxton has surrounded himself with a great many movers and shakers. Mike Braxton and Get Money Filmz have produced several underground DVDs and he is the first DVD producer to feature all females on his rap DVDs. Mike has also produced several mixtapes CDs, such as Hood Radio, Real Street Sh*t with DJ Butter Rock and Night Of The Living Dead with DJ Dead.

Mike Braxton is also an executive at Enter The Zone TV. Mike has secured many interviews, such as Jim Jones (DipSet), R&B stylist Donell Jones, R&B Diva Keke Wyatt, Buck Shot (Black Moon), Kurupt (Dogg Pound) as well as Ice Cube, DJ Drama, Tuff Crew, Hedonis Da Amazon, Trish Barnes, Last Donna and many more.

We caught up with Mike Braxton of Get Money Filmz and asked hime about a few things he's doing these days.

We finally caught up to Mike Braxton to ask him a few things.

Who are some of the people featured on your latest DVD? Kurupt, Philly producer Chad Wess, Snoop Dogg, Max B and others What makes this DVD standout from your other projects?

I feel this is one of my best projects to date because with this DVD, I really was on my grind , my pockets was on low and I had a brand new baby girl on the way. So to me this one DVD had to really be on point.

What's your connection with Kurupt from Tha DoggPound?

Kupurt is a child hood friend of mine. I knew him before he got signed to Death Row and that whole situation. I've seen him grow from a battle rapper to who he is today.

The indie scene constantly changes, how do you stay current?

I stay current by not following what everybody is else doing. Staying current is being in your own lane.

I saw The Hustlers Hope video was featured on your DVD? Yea I had fun with directing my first video. It was an experience I had to go through in order to get the understanding of it. It was something of a bonus, we wanted to add to the DVD. I feel like some times, the urban companies short change the consumers. So you need to come up with ideas to give them something, a "bang for the buck" affect.

What's your take on the current state of hip hop?

Not enough good artists are being played on these major stations. But also at the same time the artists don't put enough money into their projects.

These music directors don't want to hear something that sounds like it was recorded in a hallway closet.

The Indikator's Back...

...Or Is He?

Since the release of his first project "The Vision" in 1994, The Indikator has remained true to himself and what he believes Hip Hop to be. He has talked with and learned from many heads in the game on the ins and outs of the independent music scene and the Music Industry in general.

The Indikator has remained pretty consistant in releasing material. He was featured on Temple University's Jazz compilation CD in 1994 as well several other compilation CDs between 1996 and 1998. In 2000, he released "Smooth As I", the first single from his 2001 debut LP "And The Winner Is...". The Indikator went on release "Remain Calm" in 2004, "Remain Calm 2" in 2005 and "It's On Again" in 2009. He was slated to release "Ready For Damage" in 2006, but postponed that release, due to the death of his mother, a loss that he hasn't fully recovered from. A few singles and collaborations later have now brought him to his current project "Already Know". The Indikator feels like this is possibly his best work to date.

He will tell you himself, he knew nothing about marketing and promoting and how it pertained to music, when he first started. He has been involved with some bad publishing deals and will readily admit, it was because "I wasn't paying attention to detail".

The Indikator has grown up with Hip Hop and he will tell you, he now makes "grown man music". The Indikator has now come to a crossroads of sorts with Hip Hop. He has a great deal of love for the artform that has propelled him to having several movie placements, starting his own TV show (Enter The Zone) to promote indie artists and the relaunch of his digital magazine.

The Indikator now says he's growing weary of what some folks are trying to pass off as Hip Hop. He isn't knocking what people do, but he just wants his respect. Being from a competitive city like Philadelphia, has lent itself to him being in the middle of a conumdrum of where he believes he finds himself in the expression of his art. We caught up with the Illadeph wordsmith at his home studio to talk to him about where, in his words, "shit went wrong".

ETZ: Indikator how have you been?

The In: I'm doing well, working hard.

ETZ: Tell us about your time in Hip Hop. The In: I came in at a time, where there was no internet or mp3s, etc. So you had to get up, go out and pound the pavement to have your music heard.

ETZ: What was the vibe like back then, in your own words?

The In: The vibe was different then than now. I think heads, back then, were defintely concerned with lyrics and originality. You better not have a been a biter, because you would have been called on it, real talk!

ETZ: Has the battle changed? And talk to us about PSP (Philly Support Philly).

The In: It (the battle) has somewhat changed. The battle has become a bit more personal. I've seen cats on youtube punch other cats in the mouth during a battle, that's wild, but it is what it is, I guess.

In Philly, as in other cities I'm sure, you can find open mic nights that cater to the battle and feature live performances and that's cool. As far as PSP goes, I think that applies to certain cliques, but doesn't apply to all and I'll tell you why.

A Philly female emcee once told me that artists, in Philly, won't support each other until they have respect for each others' craft. If I'm the conscious emcee and you're the party emcee, we may not know how to support each other, until we respect each others skill and what we, as different artists, bring to the table. I think that this has been true of this PSP movement, but it can change.

There are so many artists from Philly trying to "make it", that it's hard to support another artist from Philly, when they are trying to get to where you're trying to go or believe that they're in competition with you.

ETZ: Why do you think there are not many major recording labels based in Philly?

The In: That's a tough one... (laughs). But I do think people outside of Philly know what Philly artists have, in terms of talent, but a great many of our artists are not business savvy and don't pay attention to their business.

Major recording labels not being in Philly is a tough nut to crack... (laughs).

ETZ: Tell us why "Already Know" could possibly be your last studio album?

The In: For a few reasons. I really want to focus more on music and television production. I have seen a lot and I've been blessed with the knowledge of knowing what I know about conducting business. I also have an awareness about releasing my material the way I want to release it. It's just music now, no pressure. I won't ever stop making music. I also believe that people get things, when they're suppose to get them. My first release, "The Vision", is considered in some circles, a classic. That didn't come about until DJ Aziz from Austria contacted me in 2004 about the record and told

me he'd been playing the record for a long time! I was stunned!

ETZ: How do you feel about some of the elder statesmen in Hip Hop still releasing material?

The In: I think it's very important, the artists who came to prominance in the golden era are still putting out music. You need that foundation, it's very important. The younger artists that are beginning to come out should mention the artists they came up on and pay their respects! Some of the artists are, but there are some that don't, real rap! I don't knock anyone for what they do musically, just keep making great music, that's all!

ETZ: How do you plan to work this release and do you have any unreleased material?

The In: I'm excited about this album. I produced the entire album and I have some features by some great artists. The album features Monique Forrester aka Lyrical Movements, she's out of NYC. My homie Majic aka Derek Jabez from West Philly, my homie Trayz, also out of NYC and Darko The Magnificent, he's out of Dallas, TX. I'm going to release it on my label and through major online retailers and work it through all the neccassary channels I can.

As far as unreleased material, I plan to release an album featuring that music as well. That will feature production from myself, soul X and ZentnaBeatz.

ETZ: In your opinion, where did "shit go wrong"?

The In: I think shit went wrong at different times and what I mean by that is some labels, sign acts looking to follow existing trends. Some producers and labels bring out fresh new artists and that's needed. But over the years, we've seen group after group make the same types of records, but with the advent of youtube and other video websites, that trend is changing, because if you're record is dope, I'm going to say it's dope!

As far as I'm concerned, shit has gone wrong for me, being loyal to cats who don't return that loyality. My mother used to tell my brother and I that we were more loyal to people, who weren't as loyal to us and over the years that has come to light, even with family!

ETZ: So what's next for The Indikator, what's your legacy?

The In: Taking care of my immediate family and staying on the grind. The work never stops. I want people twenty to thirty years from now discovering the music for the first time or rediscovering the music, saying "my man Indikator, was a dope artist"! Peace y'all and God Bless!
