OUR COMPANY Enterprise & Training Company Limited (ETC) enjoys a reputation as a high-performing, not-for-profit provider of employment, training and business services. We help people in many different situations to overcome their personal challenges and learn the skills they need to find sustainable employment. ETC’s purpose is to help alleviate poverty, helplessness and misfortune suffered by unemployed people by helping them find jobs, equipping them to be suitable for those jobs and supporting them to stay in work. ETC delivers employment services, disability services, the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme and a range of business advisory services such as the NSW Government’s Small Biz Connect program. As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), ETC offers nationally accredited qualifications in Community Services, Business, Retail and Hospitality. ETC is committed to helping build the capacity of the communities in which we operate through a range of community programs, projects and partnerships. This is our way of giving back, achieving our mission and thanking those communities who continue to support us. EMPLOYMENT SERVICES ETC has been delivering employment services for more than 25 years. ETC is contracted to the Federal Government Department of Employment to help job seekers find jobs and meet the needs of employers as part of the jobactive contract (2015-2020) and previous Jobs Services Australia and Job Network contracts. ETC’s employment services delivery footprint extends along the East Coast from Yatala in the Gold Coast to Bulahdelah in NSW. ETC is also a Disability Employment Services provider in the Port Macquarie-Hastings region in the NSW Mid North Coast which enables us to provide people with disability a specialised employment service as part of a contract with the Federal Government Department of Human Services. ETC is certified under ISO9001:2008 and the Department of Employment Quality Assurance Framework.

We also continue to support job seekers once they have secured a job to help them succeed and remain in work.

SERVICES FOR JOB SEEKERS ETC offers a range of services to eligible job seekers to help them find a job as quickly as possible, including: •

Weekly automated emails, fortnightly phone calls/Skype and monthly (at least) meetings to keep them engaged in looking for work

Access to ETC’s “Job Lab” where they can watch online tutorials, webinars and videos about getting and keeping a job

Access to ETC’s jLink App which will alert them to new jobs suitable to their skills

“Job Skills Training” to increase their chances of getting a job such as reviewing their resume, applying for jobs and interview techniques

Training to address skills gaps and increase job prospects

Access to a range of Work for the Dole activities designed to build upon work skills

ETC’s Job Advisors work with job seekers to help them overcome any obstacles that may be preventing them from working and, with their consent, will refer them to support services such as counsellors, mental health specialists, financial and budgeting experts and accommodation services. 9


ENCORE PROPERTY SERVICES

NEW CAREERS FOR ABORIGINAL PEOPLE (NCAP)

ETC’s social enterprise, Encore Property Services, provides lawns, grounds and garden maintenance services to a range of government and private sector clients throughout the NSW Mid North Coast.

ETC works closely with community and industry groups to create and source employment and/or training opportunities for Aboriginal people through the NCAP program.

Encore offers job seekers the opportunity to gain valuable work skills in a small and supportive environment. Typically, there are about 25 part-time employees working with Encore, including 3-4 Indigenous, 2-3 mature aged, 6-7 youth as well as people with disability. The team is overseen by 3 supervisors who offer mentoring and support.

SERVICES FOR EMPLOYERS ETC is committed to meeting the needs of employers by delivering a service that is responsive, flexible and focused on helping employers achieve their workforce requirements. ETC’s recruitment service to employers includes: • Access to candidates throughout Australia • Screening of candidates • Short-listing, interviewing and reference checks • Ongoing support once a candidate has been placed in a job In addition, ETC also offers employers: •

We also work with other organisations such as employment providers, training providers, Apprenticeship Centres and labour hire companies to ensure we meet employer’s labour force needs

TRANSITION TO WORK ETC offers the Transition to Work program which focusses on helping Year 12 school leavers who require additional support to get ready for working life and secure sustainable employment. ETC helps these clients by: •

TRAINING SERVICES ETC is a Registered Training Organisation (6998) that helps individuals to up-skill to launch or develop their careers, and organisations to professionally develop their staff. Our programs are nationally recognised and specifically designed for successful learning outcomes. ETC offers accredited qualifications from Certificate II to Diploma level in the areas of Community Services (Aged Care, Disability, Home and Community Care, Children Services and Employment Services), Business, Retail and Hospitality as well as Training and Assessment. ETC facilitates traineeships and also offers short courses that provide licensing requirements and pre-vocational and skill set training such as Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), Provide Responsible Gambling Services (RCG), Apply First Aid and a Food Safety Supervisor course. Please refer to your local ETC office for a calendar of scheduled training courses. ETC offers a flexible and fresh approach to training. We work closely with industry to develop specialised training programs that meet employers’ current and future needs. Our training is delivered in the workplace, classroom and online by experienced trainers who have worked in industry.

As a not-for-profit, community orientated organisation, ETC participates in a broad range of socially and economically focused activities that are designed to build the capacity of local communities and provide opportutnies for disadvantaged people.

ETC COMMUNITY SUPPORT FUND A small snapshot of some of the recipients is provided below: NSW Mid North Coast Hastings District Respite Care - $5,000 for a website upgrade to improve online service delivery for people with disabilities and their carers. Macleay Options - $6,000 towards Mowhawks, a vocational service that specialises in lawn and ground maintenance work which is performed by people with disability. NSW North Coast Lifeline North Coast - $12,600 for the purchase of new computers, printers and software to help increase efficiency in retail outlets. Westpac Rescue Helicopter - $8,000 for the purchase of GoPro cameras to be used for training purposes. Gold Coast Disabled Surfers Association - $1,300 for the purchase of new chairs. Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads - $6,000 for the purchase of electric scooters for the disabled and elderly.

ETC has always given back to the communities in which it operates. In 2012, ETC’s Board of Directors launched the ETC Community Support Fund as a new vehicle for our philanthropy and sharing our success.

COMMUNITY INFORMATION AND SUPPORT PROGRAMS ETC leverages its extensive base of community contacts to support government agencies deliver widespread community information and support. Examples include the switchover from analogue to digital TV; introduction to WH&S legislation; training the supervisors of learner drivers; and support for incubating businesses at the Coffs Harbour Innovation Centre.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS ETC has broad ranging partnerships with community-based organisations in our regions. For example, we are a consortium member of both Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour Headspace, supporting young people access mental health support.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE ETC develops and supports social enterprises which benefit the community and provide outcomes for our job seekers. For example, our own social enterprise, Encore Property Services provides lawns, grounds and garden maintenance services to a range of government and private sector clients throughout the NSW Mid North Coast. Encore offers job seekers the opportunity to gain valuable work skills in a small and supportive environment.

ETC BUSINESS LEADERS BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF SMALL BUSINESSES THROUGH ETC BUSINESSLEADERS The premier business to business networking events on the NSW Mid North Coast. ETC BusinessLeaders (formerly known as the ETC BusinessClub) has been operating in Coffs Harbour since 1995 as a not-for-profit venture. The purpose of ETC BusinessLeaders is to provide the business community with a networking and learning environment to support business growth, innovation and sustainability. ETC BusinessLeaders events bring nationally renowned speakers to regional areas to inspire and motivate local small business operators. Held bi-monthly, the events encourage business-to-business networking and skills development.
