OUR COMPANY Enterprise & Training Company Limited (ETC) enjoys a reputation as a high-performing, not-for-profit provider of employment, training and business services. We help people in many different situations to overcome their personal challenges and learn the skills they need to find sustainable employment. ETC’s purpose is to help alleviate poverty, helplessness and misfortune suffered by unemployed people by helping them find jobs, equipping them to be suitable for those jobs and supporting them to stay in work. As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), ETC offers nationally accredited qualifications in Community Services, Business, Retail and Hospitality. We also deliver a range of subsidised business advisory and support programs. Our Employment Services include specialised youth and disability programs.

ETC is contracted to the Federal Government Department of Employment to help job seekers find jobs and meet the needs of employers as part of the jobactive contract (2015-2020) and previous Job Services Australia and Job Network contracts. ETC’s employment services delivery footprint extends along the East Coast between Tuncurry and the Gold Coast.

ETC is also a Disability Employment Services provider in the Port Macquarie-Hastings region in the NSW Mid North Coast which enables us to provide people with disability a specialised employment service as part of a contract with the Federal Government Department of Human Services.


SERVICES FOR JOB SEEKERS ETC offers a range of services to eligible job seekers to help them find a job as quickly as possible, including: • Weekly automated emails, fortnightly phone calls/Skype and monthly (at least) meetings to keep them engaged in looking for work • Access to ETC’s “Job Lab” where they can watch online tutorials, webinars and videos about getting and keeping a job and search for jobs in their region • Access to ETC’s jLink App which will alert them to new jobs suitable to their skills • “Job Skills Training” to increase their chances of getting a job such as reviewing their resume, applying for jobs and interview techniques • Training to address skills gaps and increase job prospects • Access to a range of Work for the Dole and work experience activities designed to build upon work skills ETC’s Job Advisors work with job seekers to help them overcome any obstacles that may be preventing them from working and, with their consent, will refer them to support services such as counsellors, mental health specialists, financial and budgeting experts and accommodation services. We also continue to support job seekers once they have secured a job to help them succeed and remain in work. ETC is certified under ISO 9001:2015 and the Department of Employment Quality Assurance Framework.

ENCORE PROPERTY SERVICES ETC’s social enterprise, Encore Property Services, provides lawns, grounds and garden maintenance services to a range of government and private clients throughout the NSW Mid North Coast. Encore offers job seekers the ooportunity to gain valuable work skills in a small and supportive environment, with an average of 25 people employed part-time. Encore has a particular focus on employing Indigenous people, people with disability, young and mature aged job seekers. The team is overseen by 3 supervisors who offer mentoring and support.

• Opportunities to trial candidates through work experience, work trials and preemployment training programs • Detailed advice and guidance to help ensure businesses have appropriately skilled staff via a skills need analysis; designing training programs with employer input and facilitating traineeships and apprenticeships • Employment advice specific to individual businesses such as how to achieve diverse workplaces, information on wage subsidies and job sharing arrangements We also work with other organisations such as employment providers, training providers, Apprenticeship Centres and labour hire companies to ensure we meet employers’ labour force needs

ABORIGINAL ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (AEDO) PROGRAM The Aboriginal Enterprise Development Officer (AEDO) Program is a free program for Aboriginal people considering starting up their own business or expanding their current business. ETC’s Aboriginal Business Advisors can provide advice, support and referral services including: •

helping clients start up a small business

assisting in the development of a business plan

arranging accredited small business training

providing information on financial management

providing ongoing mentoring support once a business is up and running

providing information on how to apply for funding.

ETC has a Reconciliation Action Plan and is committed to closing the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.

NEW CAREERS FOR ABORIGINAL PEOPLE (NCAP) PROGRAM ETC works closely with community and industry groups to create and source employment and/or training opportunities for Aboriginal people through the NCAP program. ETC’s Aboriginal Employment Advisors help Aboriginal people by: • Planning career paths • Seeking out employment and/or training opportunities • Providing assistance with job applications and interview techniques ETC delivers NCAP in the Mid North Coast and North Coast of NSW.

ETC is a Registered Training Organisation (6998) that helps individuals to up-skill to launch or develop their careers, and organisations to professionally develop their staff. Our programs are nationally recognised and specifically designed for successful learning outcomes. Named the 2016 NSW Small Training Provider of the Year, ETC offers accredited qualifications from Certificate II to Diploma level in the areas of Community Services (Aged Care, Disability, Home and Community Care, Children Services and Employment Services), Business, Retail and Hospitality as well as Training and Assessment. ETC facilitates traineeships and also offers short courses that provide licensing requirements and pre-vocational and skill set training such as Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), Provide Responsible Gambling Services (RCG), Apply First Aid and a Food Safety Supervisor course.

NEW ENTERPRISE INCENTIVE SCHEME NEIS assists eligible job seekers interested in establishing a small business with accredited small business management training (Certificate III in Micro Business BSB 30315), assistance with the development of a business plan and ongoing mentoring support for 12 months. ETC delivers NEIS in the Mid North Coast and North Coast regions of NSW.


BUSINESS ADVISORY SERVICES ASBAS ETC provides low cost support for small businesses, under the Australian Government funded Australian Small Business Advisory Service (ASBAS) program, through face-to-face business advisory consultations, business skills training workshops, online business tools and resources, and innovative partnership initiatives. We assist business people address gaps in their management skills and support them to set goals and action plans to improve competitiveness, performance, innovation and profit. ASBAS focusses on five business support streams: funding avenues and financial analysis; building your business; making the most of your talent and team; management capabilities; and digital engagement implementation.

NSW MID NORTH COAST Hastings Early Intervention Program - $10,128 for a mobile office for staff enabling them to reach more children and families in need. Nambucca Valley Phoenix - $5,000 towards equipment upgrades for the work crew that provides employment opportunities for people with disability by running lawn care and garden maintenance services in the Nambucca Valley.

NSW NORTH COAST Story Dogs - $15,000 towards a program helping primary school students become better readers by enabling them to read to trained canines.

As a not-for-profit company, ETC participates in a broad range of socially and economically focussed activities that are designed to build the capacity of local communities and provide opportunities for disadvantaged people.

Byron Bay Community Association - $15,000 to convert a shipping container into a social enterprise called “Connect Coffee� which trains disadvantaged people in barista and customer service skills.

GOLD COAST Boomerang Bags - $11,740 for the purchase of industrial machines used to make re-usable bags from recycled materials The Migrant Centre - $12,250 to develop a new program called JUST4YOUth which aims to reach out and support young new arrivals to Australia.
