elcome and congratulations on making it to your 1st Professional year of Engineering!

I’m sure for many of you it’s been a lot of hard work, discipline and determination (a couple of all- nighters) to get here. Get that pick n mix and coffee ready as I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, Eng is going to get a whole lot harder this year!

But don’t worry – us kind folk at ENSOC have provided you with this handy booklet. As we were once in the exact same seat as you are now. We have tried to give you a couple of “golden pages” to make your lives a little easier. Detailing your courses, what to expect and who to spin a yarn with. We’ve also added a couple of pages showing the awesome events ENSOC provides.

Make friends with people in your class. You will be working together for the next three years – don’t be afraid to break the awkward silence and say hi! It will make your life a whole lot easier and more enjoyable!

As we know too well, 1st pro can be hard adjusting to the heavy workload, so indulge yourselves, read on and discover the many secrets hidden within the covers of this booklet.

Welcome back to university and your first professional year of engineering. Buckle up and don’t blink because this is going to be the fastest 3 years of your life.

A wise man once said to me, “you can repeat a paper but you can’t repeat a night out. This has some truth in it, but you definitely don’t want to repeat a paper”. So ENSOC is here to give you a hand with making the most of your short but amazing university experience, as are the other clubs too! But with a team of 21 third Pro Engineers from all disciplines having experienced a lot of what you are about to go through already, you would be a fool to do it alone, so make the most of your class mates, as well as us at ENSOC.

True to our word ENSOC has its first gift for you.

THE 1ST PRO HANDBOOK. And with plenty of grease spread throughout the new committee we will be running like a well-oiled machine this year for all of our Engineering students especially. So if you have any suggestions for events or things you would like to see, feel free to send them to myself or anyone on the committee even!

This guide is by no means like the cheat codes in GTA that will get you unlimited ammo to pass your papers but it will give you an idea of which are worth going for and which are cruisier. You should have sorted out your priorities and crucial study routines by now, like knowing which days can be missed for skiing on a powder day. But remember to keep your schedules clear on Friday afternoons for ENSOC’s legendary BBQ’s. You won’t remember that time you sat in a lecture on a sweltering day, but you will remember having the time of your life with your friends.

ENSOC promises to bring a range of top quality events that encompass the social, industrial, sporting and academic aspects we know you love.

In 2017, ENSOC is going to make some big changes. We will be making the things you know and love more awesome while also eliminating some things in order to create new events which are bigger and better! And what better a year to make these changes than with the new Engineering Building.

It is also time to start paying more attention to these industry and academic events such as the Engineering E3 Expo and the varied Personal Development Training sessions (CV building, Interview trainig etc). These will give you first-hand experience and yarn time with THE INDUSTRY. Also now that you are all 1st Pro, you are eligible to become a part of the ENSOC family should you wish. It was arguably the best decision of my university career; meeting heaps of new people, involvement with all the clubs and getting out of my comfort zone which all helped to create those sought after soft skills. Remember, your education here is more than the piece of paper you get at the end.

Dean of Engineering The man, the myth, the legend

W

elcome to the College of Engineering at UC. You have chosen a great place to study and I encourage you to make the most of the opportunities to learn from your lecturers and to get into all the great social, sporting and great outdoors activities on offer while you are here!

Joining ENSOC is a fantastic way to get involved with both study and social activities – remember those committee members devote a lot of their time to you, voluntarily, so support them where you can and make sure you show UC in the best possible light at all times.

Two more things you should join this year.

First, sign up as a student member of IPENZ. It is free, will keep you up to date with professional engineering in NZ and start that all-important professional networking. Through the free magazine, you’ll see who’s who, who’s doing what, where and for how much, and might even find a job.

Second, why not enrol in our Diploma in Global Humanitarian Engineering? You can do this in parallel with your BE(Hons) in any discipline; it doesn’t affect your BE(Hons) in any way but adds some humanities/arts courses and a humanitarian service project on top. If you want to learn about your fellow human beings and apply your engineering skills to the benefit of society while you are a student, this is for you. In return for that, you get an additional qualification that will set you apart when you go out into the job market - the only one of its kind in Australasia. BE(Hons), DipGlobalHumanEng – what’s not to like about all that on your business card after just four years here at UC?!

2017 is an exciting year for the College. Numbers are booming, with more Intermediate and Professional Year students than ever before. Of the 5 buildings that have undergone major renovation or replacement over the past couple of years, we now have the Electrical & Computer Engineering and the Chemical & Process Engineering wings back on stream, as well as the Engineering "Core" building. The latter really is your space. Beautiful lecturing facilities, computer labs and a state-of-theart drawing office, plus more informal student spaces than you can point a stick at, all open 24/7.

The new Engineering Cafe ("Nuts and Bolts") will open late March, and the Recharge Lounge at the north end of the building is already yours for the taking. There, you can bask in the morning sun, socialise, finish that assignment, or heat and eat some food. Study Pods are located in various places, with screens in some so that you can wirelessly connect to your devices, and there are several study and meeting rooms there for your use, including those outside lecture rooms E5, 6 and 7.

Nearby the Core is the Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) Library, so everything is here for you to make the most of your time in and around the College.

The Civil & Natural Resources Engineering and the Mechanical Engineering wings are expected to be complete later in the year and then we'll be the most modern engineering school in the greater Ilam area :-). Meanwhile, a huge new Science building is expected to open in the second semester, and the College of Education comes over from the Dovedale campus to a refurbished building on the main campus late this year, which includes a new Maker Space for you to develop and get support for your business ideas through the Centre for Entrepreneurship. Where else can you get all this?!

The catchword for 2017, as it was for 2016, is "SAFETY". Keep your eyes open and obey the rules. You’re here to learn professional engineering, so let’s not ruin your chances of graduating (or, frankly, staying alive) by pulling stunts around the construction sites – they are off-limits and there is zero tolerance for comedians.

If you have any questions regarding study options, feel free to stop in to the College Office (located on the ground floor of the John Britten building). If you’re struggling with your study or face unexpected disruptions, come and see our Student Advisors – they’re here to help.

In early March, I will be stepping aside to take on a new role as the inaugural Head of a new School of Product Design that we are creating here at UC to run our brand new Bachelor of Product Design degree. My replacement as Dean of Engineering from 6 March will be Dr Dirk Pons, from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

In the meantime, I wish you all the very best for the 2017 academic year – make the most of it!

Hokitika Wild Foods: The premier event of the west coast is on the 11th

of March

and is not one to be missed. We will head over

to the coast for two nights of camping, partying and of course eating the weirdest and most wonderful food the coast has to offer. The after party will be headlined by New Zealand classics Samonella Dub. Tickets will include transport, camping and tickets to the events. Tickets will be limited so get in quick!

Barbeques: ENSOC puts on a barbeque each term where you can really let your hair down and have a good time.

If you haven’t been to one before, what the hell have you been doing with your time!

Remember there is an opportunity for a 1st pro to become part of the 2017 ENSOC committee, so keep your blinkers peeled for more news on this fantastic chance.

The Ball: The ENSOC Ball is THE ball. Pre shaky quakes, this event was the largest ball in the Southern Hemisphere!

Since then we've been working back up, recently taking over a casino, a mall, and a cathedral - and 2017 is taking things to new heights! Write it down: the 21st of May, definitely not a night to miss. Almost winter so ladies, break out the Bondi. Lads, a nice suit jacket not only makes you desirably unrecognisable, it will also increase your odds with that girl who's freezing her butt off at the end of the night. Keep an eye out for ticket sales closer to the time, they will go quick!

SPORTS

In ENSOC there isn’t a lack of balls, and we sure do love code

Sports are a huge part of ENSOC’s approach to student life. Traditionally, ENSOC has been a driving force for the social sport scene within UC, coordinating some epic tournaments and events for all to get amongst.

When the study inevitably gets too much for us engineers, expect a mix of inter-discipline fixtures that provide opportunities for bragging rights and are a perfect excuse to get out of the classroom.

ENSOC also organizes other events for all it’s members, such as the annual ENSOC Touch

Tournament, which is always the best introduction to summer after a cold slog at uni. We also enter teams in the varsity social rugby, soccer and netball competitions, facing fierce competitors each year. They are an awesome way to make mates and to blow off steam after sitting in front of lecturers and computer screens all week.

The successful weekly lawn bowls competition, which is held in the last 4 weeks of term 1, is again a goer. So if you are keen to sink a few brews in the sun and roll the armover at the iconic venue of Bowls Canterbury, get a team signed up and come along.

The sporting highlight of the year is undoubtedly the prestigious Marlowe Cup. This year ENSOC will be hosting the Otago Surveying School for a weekend of rigorous competing to see who can assert themselves as the dominant college. Last year we took out the footy but have some unfinished business in the boat races that follow, no need to worry though practice already started at the BBQ’s and will continue throughout the year for all ENSOC members. All that have been involved remember the Marlowe Cup fondly and there is a huge amount of pride associated with this traditional fixture, it is a must before you leave UC. So make sure you’re around that weekend for some dusty code and a few cold ones.

ENSOC takes great pride in hosting weekly academic tutorials. These are held at university hall, but all are welcome. The committee offers academic support, free pizza and expert advice on how to survive the toughest degree on campus!

Our regular Study Suppers run each night during Study Week from 8.30-9pm in the Undercroft. Come along for some free brain food and hot drinks to help you through the evening shift at James Height Library.

Study Suppers -

– Semester 1, Term 1 – The Engineering Challenge is a ‘scrapheap’ design and build challenge. This gives the more practically minded an opportunity to shine and the chance to take on a team of lecturers.

– Semester 2, Term 1 – Yarns night aims to assist engineering students of all years to choose which specialization to pursue in their professional years and raises awareness of the opportunities they could take on during university and after graduation. This is a great opportunity for some networking to be done between peers, lecturers and possible future employers.

– Semester 2, Term 2 - This prestigious award has been around since 1941 is an award for the best technical report and presentation on any area of engineering or science. The grand prize is $2500 (e.g.

250 bottles of $20 wine) so definitely give it a go!

MARINE ENGINEERING OFFICER (MEO)

Marine Engineering Officers are the Navy’s experts on ship structure, propulsion, power genera on, hydraulic, and habitability systems. Marine Engineering Officers on board ship lead teams of skilled hands-on technicians who operate, maintain and repair this diverse range of equipment. The Marine Engineering Officer is the cri cal decision maker in the ship’s response to fire-figh ng and damage control.

A diverse range of shore-based posi ons include management of complex projects, equipment procurement, ship system and physical upgrades and performance analysis. Your career will be managed so that you are rotated regularly through these roles, ensuring you develop a broad understanding of Marine Engineering. Professional development is a key part of a Marine Engineering Officer’s career.

WEAPON ENGINEERING OFFICER (WEO)

Weapon Engineering Officers are the Navy’s experts in weapon systems, communica on, sensors, and combat management systems. Weapons Engineering Officers on board ship lead a team of skilled technicians who maintain and repair the sophis cated equipment that provides our figh ng capability.

Weapon Engineering Officers are also involved in complex mul -million-dollar project management, equipment procurement and upgrades, system op misa on, and maintenance planning. Your career will be managed so that you have a comprehensive and full understanding of all the aspects of Weapon Engineering.

ENGINEERING OFFICER

You will ac vely manage the engineering and maintenance of RNZAF aircra and its mechanical, avionics and armament systems. You will be responsible for the safety, airworthiness, and availability of the aircra .

You will need to be a flexible, mul -disciplinary leader across all areas of engineering with a keen eye for detail. Engineering Officers work across all engineering disciplines, including the research and development of aircra , equipment modifica ons, managing budgets and financial systems, and designing structural repairs.

You will monitor engineering standards, manage aircra maintenance and oversee maintenance of mechanical, avionics, and armament systems. You will be provided with ongoing training to keep you at the forefront of engineering development.

FLYING SQUADRONS

Each Flying Squadron has a maintenance sec on led by an Engineering Officer known as the Maintenance Flight Commander (MFC). A large squadron will usually be aided by a junior Engineering Officer. The MFC’s role is to manage the day-to-day maintenance of the squadron’s aircra ; a combina on of both scheduled preven ve and rou ne maintenance, and unscheduled repairs.

BASE ENGINEERING SQUADRONS

Each RNZAF base has specialist engineering squadrons to perform more in-depth maintenance on aircra and components. Your work is demanding in terms of engineering knowledge and managing personnel and resources.

On each base, the engineering squadron has a senior Engineering Officer in charge and one or two Junior Engineers to look a er various workshops.

GRADUATE INCENTIVE SCHEME - GIS

Engineering Graduates and Final Year students are eligible for the Graduate Incen ve Scheme. In addi on to your normal salary as a Pilot Officer, you will receive annual payments totalling $40,000 over four years (for a four year degree).

There is no minimum me to serve, or return of service.

This year Ken Morrison is the CAPE Director of First Professional Studies. He has been with the department since 1993 and definitely knows his stuff. He’s very approachable and if you have any problems contact Ken; I’m sure he’d be more than happy to answer all of your questions.

ENCH241 - Engineering Chemistry 2

This is the first and last chemistry paper you will take in your Chemical Engineering degree.

Confusing huh! The content is split up into four parts with a different lecturer for each. You’ll have Sally Gaw for chromatography, Peter Steel and his various narcotic references, Chris Fitchett and his love of all polymers, and Vladimir Golovko the Russian who loves catalysts.

ENCH281 - Principles Of Biology For Engineers

This is probably the most fun paper out of the ones you will take this year. Laboratories make up roughly a third of the course marks, where you get to put bits of sheep liver in a blender, amoung other experiments. This paper is a great way to boost a low GPA, and having done some biology at school is an added bonus!

ENCH298 - Chemical Engineering Mathematics

Think of models, and then think again. These models are of the different kind and are much harder to look at. This paper was new in 2016, it was the first time Chemical Engineers have a maths paper tailored to the material required, rather than sitting the EMTH210 and EMTH271 courses with Mech and Civil. || Page

You are going to love the lecturers in this course.

Aaron Marshall is one of those rare lecturers you can a.) Understand, and b.)

Has a sense of humour. With the passionate Argentinian Gabriel Visnovsky you should be able to master the paper.

Associate with dissociation in this paper where everything is transferring. Sometimes things are at steady state if you’re lucky, and then the question is a piece of cake.

ENCH293 - Fluid Mechanics

Whether it’s gas, non-Newtonian, laminar, or turbulent, after this paper you will be hard at the sight of anything remotely pipe related.

Including such tasks as report writing, error bars, dimensional analysis and a bit of fluid mechanics, this paper really has it all. Oh and you get to build a water feature.

Tips, Hint, Tricks:

- Get the Bio book from the EPS library.

- Don’t forget about workshop hours (CAPE get to build a hammer).

- Make sure you don’t leave picking lab slots till last minute, and always make sure you have a friend in the same time slot for a partner.

- You have to write a lab report on the University’s industrial scale coal-fired boiler as part of ENCH295, make SURE you start this report EARLY, trust me it will prevent the 3 night all-nighter.

ENCH295 - Chemical Engineering Professional Practice

Again, this paper was brand spankin’ new in 2016.

ENCH296 - Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics

Ah... Thermodynamics. The laws that rule the universe. This paper is a bit of a tricky one, but with a bit of hard yakka you should be able to pull it off. Remember, everything is theoretical and nothing is ever ideal.

EMTH210 - Engineering Mathematics 2

This is the follow up course from EMTH119, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news,but it definitely gets harder. The lecturers are pretty sweet, and the term test is worth 30% so if you can smash this it’ll ease the exam load. It’s time to finally get your head around Fourier Series, Laplace transforms and learn how to triple integrate.Good times.

ENCN221 - Engineering Materials

This one goes out to all the rote learners. It covers everything from the microstructure composition to the macrostructure performance of materials, timber cells to the chemicals in concrete. Did I hear concrete? Concrete mix design is a pretty key concept, so get this one on lock (hint: was worth a tonne in mid-terms).

ENCN231 - Solid Mechanics

A step up from the statics part of ENGR102, with Allan as the lecturer of the course. This is a base paper for all the structural papers you’ll encounter in the next couple of years, so if this is the path you want to trot down, you don’t want to fall behind. Nat-Res however, you can just chill out because you won’t need this stress/strain again.

ENCN261 - Transport and Surveying

Rodger takes the surveying part of this course.

The best advice would be not to throw out all the random bits of paper that he gives you, as they are in fact important notes for tests. The survey camp is a good time, with plenty of inter-gender bonding to be had all round. Make sure you complete all the tutorials as although you may rather be out drinking away your youth, these questions have a nasty habit of popping up in the exams.

ENCN 213- Design Studio

The tutorials in this paper are nasty. 2-3 hours long with a lot of content. Some smiling and winking at the mentors will be a bit of flirting well spent, as the time spent to complete each section is just unreal. The bridge design and testing is always a laugh and a free beer at the end isn’t too bad either. Cable stay bridges always win the specification category. It’s a fact. If you are in acreative mood however a prize is also given to the most innovative and it doesn’t necessarily need to work.

ENCN242 - Fluid Mechanics & Hydrology

Go to the tutorials! This shit is hard, but they will help. You have two sweet lecturers with Mark Davison and Tonny de Vries. This course is followed up by Flu-id Mechanics in 2nd pro, so you want to understand the underlying theory as best you can. The questions in the exam are like nothing you have seen before, as these lectures believe that you should know the theory rather than learning the problems. If you like your’ H2O hen you may enjoy it, and if you’re a Nat Res kid, get stuck in as it will really help down the track.

ENCN 253 - Soil Mechanics

Learn all about the properties and behaviour of your pet rock in this fascinating class. The labs are fine as you just submit your results in class and that’s it. The lack of lab report however leaves room for something far more sinister... Homework.

Homework is what the lectures call assignments and these are nasty things that generate most of the ENSOC shop’s income throughcalc pad. This regular homework means you have to be up to date with the content which is pretty hard, although the lecturers do provide good notes.

Tips, Hint, Tricks:

- The Communications portfolio is a lot of work, so try to keep on top of this as much as possible.

- Survey camp is a 5-day camp, held at Living Springs as part of the examination for ENCN 261 Transport and Surveying.

(The camp is held in the first and last weeks of the first semester break 9-14 April and 24-29 April, dependent on the stream you are allocated to). Camp is already included in your fees so don’t sweat. It’s pretty good fun, and an opportunity to talk to some new people.

ENCH281 - Environmental Engineering

With a few 8% assessments, it looks like the interm test is the one you want to hit out of the park. The mass balances and kinetics are most likely the hardest part of this course and doing practice questions are a must. Two tips. Don’t lose your course reader, and don’t eat yellow snow.

ENEL270 - Principles of Electronics & Devices

Introducing linear amplifiers, operational amplifiers, transistors, diodes and non-linear devices. Also covered are switching circuits, power supplies and AC to DC conversion. Labs offer an insight into how all the theory is applied.

Be prepared to make a lot of derivations by hand!

This is the paper that you want to go hard in if you are planning on doing the best type of engineering; power. Electrical systems is quite hard, you get given heaps of information that you are expected to smash through and remember for exams. The main thing is to go to the tutorials; they give you heaps of examples that generally end up being exam questions.

ENEL200 - Electrical & Computer Eng Design

This design course is one of the better compulsory subjects you have to take. During the year you get plenty of hands on design experience and learn a lot about the engineering design process.

ENEL220 - Circuits and Signals

ENEL290 - Waves & Materials

The key to this subject is to show up to the lectures because they contain a lot of shit that is pretty hard to pick up just from the textbook.

Phillipa Martin is the lecturer for this subject; she’s pretty sweet and gives good notes. You’ll get hit with a 40% test at some point, but just hang in there.

This course has only been around for a couple of years, so if you have any issues be sure to pipe up about them. This course covers waves and magnetic fields, and sounds like a good time if you want to learn about the laws of attraction.

Forestry Engineering

ENFO204 – Forest Measurement

This course is run by Bruce Manely and I would suggest getting on his good side as due to the selectiveness of forestry engineering the smaller class size ensures that the lectures know who you are and you will come in to contact with them a lot in the future. You will learn intriguing facts about tree measurement and how to guestimate the volume in a forest with your thumb and a calculator!!!

FORE205 – Intro to Forest Engineering

Rien Visser is in charge of the forestry engineers and is not only be your lecturer for this paper but will be your main point of contact with regards to course selection, fourth year project choice and any other questions over your forestry engineering education. This paper will scrape the top of the barrel as to what possibilities a qualified forest engineer has and the types of projects that forest engineers work on.

FORE215 – Intro to Forest Economics

David Evison is the lecturer of this paper and even though it says introduction don’t be fooled into thinking this is an easy GPA booster, as the mid term test is known to cripple your final mark and I recommend putting a lot of time into studying for it. If you are interested in economics this is a good first insight into how the forest economy works.

FORE119- Workshop Training Course

Remember this one! It’s a compulsory trainingcourse that must be completed before the end of 1st Pro. For the subjects EMTH210, ENCN231, ENCN213 & ENCN253, please refer to the Civil section.

ENME201 - Design Communication

A paper super easy for those who can draw and wickedly difficult for anyone who can’t, it mostly involves long drawing labs. The Warman competition is also snuck into this paper. This involves making a robot almost guaranteed to work right up until the final showing, where like most humans, it gets stage fright and chokes.

ENME202 - Stress Strain & Deformation in Machine Elements

This is essentially: How much can you load something before it goes belly up? A pretty dry paper, but I can’t stress enough how important it is. This shit will just keep turning up. This paper is just another of the many fantastic sources of banter with civil, as chat about beams/buckling will almost never fail. Paul Docherty is recognised as one of the better lecturers in the department, but the textbook is also reccommended, and may not be just another expensive paperweight. || Page

Computation 2

Matlab, that old friend we hoped to have left behind once leaving school. Once again this course is half theory, half computer labs, wit hlong hours and riddling tutors. The labs areworth much percentage wise, however if you miss too many you be sweating it to work out the code for lab tests. These are pretty chill however, you just need to get your hands on some working code and practice, practice...

ENME221 - Engineering Manufacturing and Design

CAD, the only one syllable word know to give a mech engineer an instant hard-on. The labs really let you get your creative juices flowing, and it’s worth getting stuck in to become a boss at SolidWorks.

ENME203 - Dynamics and Vibrations

Practice problems, practice problems, and more practice problems. The Gutschmidt papers are never easy, but going to tutorials is definitely a good start. If you like German accents, explanations with dead body parts and having no clue what’s up, this one is definitely for you.

ENME207 - Materials Science

Shout out to all the budding young steel enthusiasts. Here you will learn everything you need (and some not need-to-know) facts and figures about materials. There are 8% tests every second Friday, so I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Thirsty Thursday are a thing of the past. You’re a big kid now!

The text- book for this course is very good (Linear Algebra, by Poole), however most of the notes are provided with the tutorials on Learn.

ENCE - 260 Computer Systems

Welcome to computer programming in C with Richard Lobb. This is the first time a lot of people will be exposed to this language, and it is tested in a simple(ish) project with Linux. Be prepared to spend hours and hours the Erskine lab on this “simple” project if you have not used C before.

There is also some kind of microcontroller project (in pairs), so get excited.

Tips, Hint, Tricks:

- Try getting a drawing kit second hand from students in the year above.

- Don’t forget about workshop hours (Mech get to build a tap wrench).

- Make sure you don’t leave picking lab slots till last minute, and always make sure you have a friend in the same time slot for a partner.

- Get a good eraser for all the drawing (found at the ENSOC shop).

Practical Work

Finding 400 hours of Practical Work can be very stressful! This is about 10 weeks of 40 hours a week.

So try get a job as QUICK as possible. You do NOT want this hanging over your head!

Top Tips to Get the Job

UC careers are great at making your strengths stand out and know what is appropriate to include in your CV and what is NOT! 2. WRITE A TARGET COVER LETTER - there is nothing worse then a generic cover letter, the effort you put into your application is really clear to potential employers. Try to think what makes that company stand out to you - if it was a factory tour or a new innovative product?

3. Update/Create a LINKEDIN PROFILE - No need to write a essay here.

- Employers will actually facebook stalk you! Make sure there are no incriminating photos or status from back in the day.

5. TALK to as many people as you can! Family friends, go to the Career Expo’s, talk to lecturers and go to those industry evenings! The more people you talk to the more you will learn about your chosen career path - increasing those all important communication skills and you never know one of these people might turn out to be your future employer.

6. RESEARCH! Do your research, google engineering companies, see what companies are hiring recent graduates, look on Linkedin, Seek and Trademe. A lot of companies don’t advertise vacancies. So find a email address, name and phone number and fire through that CV and Cover letter. Clearly state what job you are looking for and what skills you are able to bring to the company.

7. IMPORTANT to make sure you have some sort of written agreement with your employer that details wages PAID OR UNPAID, as well as what practical hours you expect to have received by the end of the summer.

8. Have a lot of determination and be persistent- you may recieve multiple rejection emails and it can get you down! We have all been there BUT keep sending those emails and phoning those companies. It does all work out in the end.
