Sacramento Emigh Ace Hardware and Emigh’s Outdoor Living will jointly fill an El Dorado Hills location formerly occupied by a CVS Pharmacy. The hardware store will take up about 12,000 sq. ft., while Emigh’s Outdoor Living store-within-a-store will fill some 6,500 sq. ft. The Emigh family opened its first hardware store in downtown Sacramento back in 1908.

Hale Lumber Co., which for more than half a century used the attention-grabbing marketing slogan “Go to Hale,” closed its doors. The Morgan Hill lumberyard was sold to make way for a residential development and a more pedestrianfriendly downtown.

Massachusettsbased Rocky’s Ace Hardware’s store count swelled to 38 with the acquisition of Karp’s Ace Hardware in Stamford, Connecticut. Karp’s is a 97-year-old, third-generation retailer. Rocky’s celebrated its 95th anniversary throughout 2021.

Allensville Your Building Center (YBC) is acquiring Allensville Planning Mill, operator of three True Value Hardware and building supplies locations in central Pennsylvania. Altoona, Pa.-based YBC, an employee owned company, operates 17 locations, in addition to the Allensville acquisition.
