“The Lititz Pretzel Fest (will be) very different this year,” explained Pretzel Fest chairperson Karen Davis. The annual event, which is organized by the Kiwanis Club of the Lititz Area, has traditionally included tastings and games on a single day in May. For 2019, the event will be divided into two days. The first will be a day of tastings, dubbed Pretzel Fest, geared more to adults, and it will raise funds for the second, dubbed Kids Fun Day in the Park, a day of games designed to appeal to children. Pretzel Fest, which will include up to 20 treats and beverages to try at Lititzarea venues, will be held on Saturday, May 4, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids Fun Day in the Park will be held on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lititz Springs Park, 18 N. Broad St., Lititz.

The program saved Sherry, the mother of four, after a family conflict jeopardized their living arrangement. Dawn also pulled together a “neighboring” group at their church, which became an essential support system for Sherry during her two years in the Bridge of Hope program. Through those essential two years, Sherry learned budgeting skills, was promoted in her full-time work and found permanent housing for her family. Sherry is just one example of the many women
