Lifetree Cafe is hosted at The General Sutter Inn, 14 E. Main St., Lititz, every Monday at 7 p.m. Lifetree is a weekly program that involves friendly conversations about various topics. The Jan. 21 program, “Kids Without a Country: An Illegal Immigrant’s Story,” features the filmed story of Reyna Grande, who crossed the border with her family illegally when she was 9 years old. The Lifetree program will explore immigration reform, including issues surrounding children of people who entered the country illegally. All are invited to the free community event. The Lancaster Christian Women’s Club will hold a luncheon meeting at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Bent Creek Country Club, 620 Bent Creek Drive, Lititz. The programs will feature “Valentine Postcards - Sending Love Your Way” by Dede Schaeffer and “Rags to Riches” by Julie Henning. All women are invited to attend. Aaron’s Acres Gears Up For Summer Camp By Chelsea Peifer

Aaron’s Acres is recruiting campers and staff for its 2019 weekday summer camp at the Manheim Community Pool and Memorial Park. The camp has programs for children, adolescents, and adults with developmental disabilities ages 5 to 21. The first session will run from Monday, June 17, to Friday, June 28, and session two will be held on Monday, July 8, to Friday, July 19, both with options of half-day hours from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and full-day hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A third session scheduled for Monday, July 22, to Friday, Aug. 2, will offer half-day hours only. “That third session is usually made up of new families who want to try it out for the first time,” noted Aaron’s Acres executive director Risa Paskoff. GBC, Manheim BIC To Host “Night To Shine” Celebration

The Walk for D.E.S. will hold a designer bag bingo fundraiser on Sunday, Jan. 20, at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster. The doors will open at 11 a.m., and the event will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Prizes will include designer bags and purses. The event will include food, door prizes, drawings, and a silent auction. Tickets may be purchased in advance by contacting Nicole Dombroski at 717-808-5252 or ashbrihai@gmail.com or Mark Schantzer at 717-917-1796 or mschantz@ptd.net. Tickets will also be available at the door for a higher fee. All proceeds will benefit the DES Foundation of Lancaster County, which focuses on suicide awareness and prevention.

The 30th annual Frozen Foot 5K and 10K Race Series will offer three Sunday afternoon races at Elizabethtown College on Jan. 20, Feb. 17, and March 17. New for 2019 is the addition of finishers’ medals for those who complete all three races. By Chelsea Peifer
